This site was everything we hoped it would be, clean and peaceful with beautiful views, in a lovely part of France, the pitches were large and enjoyed both shade and sun, there is a very good service in regards to take out food the quiche was excellent, both Nicola and Richard the owners were very helpful and friendly, and there was everything there to make your stay comfortable.

Arrived in rain and offered very welcome cup of tea from owners Nicki and Rick!Sadly the rain continued for the 3 nights we were there and temperatures plummeted! We were surrounded by wonderful mountains which we saw every now and then when the fog lifted!
We had planned to stay for 4 nights but due to weather only stayed for 3. However the site was excellent, with hammocks available under the shade of trees by the river for hot sunny days! The washing up area was good and the wash blocks were clean with hot water.
The family room was equipped with books(you could swap books here) and games for children. The pizza was the best I've ever tasted! We so wished the sun would have shone and it would have been perfect. S
eix and the bigger St Girons (market Saturday excellent) were interesting towns, even in the rain and the tunnel road to Seix was an experience! Would love to return in better weather.

We have visited this site every year since 2000, with a Pennine and more recently with a Caravan, always staying for at least three weeks. We were a little concerned when the site changed ownership this year, wondering whether its ambience and facilities would change for the worse, but we need not have worried. The new owners have in a short time, improved the facilities, opened a very good Snack Bar (excellent home made Pizzas) and created a friendly atmosphere. The facilities are kept in mint condition, the grass is regularly cut and there are lots of flowers to create a relaxing ambience. The site is situated in an open valley, surrounded by high mountains and is one of the most attractive sites we have ever stayed on in France or anywhere. For keen walkers, there are an abundance of walks available close by and the scenery is breathtaking for those who want a more leisurely stay. The local town of Seix has good shops and restaurants and is attractive in its own right. In short, Le Montagnou is paradise!

We initially booked this sight for 7 nights, planning to return to the vendee and a site with a pool and children's playground for the end of our holiday. We have 2 boys age 9 and 5 and couldn't believe how much they enjoyed just playing in the river and the local area.
We extended our stay until the end of our holiday.
I have never stayed anywhere so tranquil and relaxing.
The sight is beautifully maintained with great shower and dishwashing facilities. The new English owners and helpful and considerate. There is fresh bread delivered every morning which you order the night before and a small shop which means you rarely have to leave unless you want to.
The snack bar is inexpensive and sells an assortment of hot food including some fantastic home made pizza's.

We visited this very pleasant English owned site in May and have just come back for our 2nd visit. The site is beautifully maintained and the new owners are most helpful, and say they will be making further improvements over the coming months. They hope to have the Finnish Kota erected and available in the next couple of months. We are hoping to return sometime over the winter to experience the facilities, also to make a trip to the ski slopes at guzet which are only about 10k from the site.Probably the most peaceful and tranquil location that we have visited while touring France and Spain.

There are some special places and amongst those there are some extra special places. This campsite is one. I have been going there for many years and for me it is the best site in France. The previous owners were French and it was their 'baby'. The new owners are English and have just completed their first year running the site. They have preserved the essential character of the site and have even made improvements and have plans to improve it further. The facilities are impeccable and the 'emplacements' are generous, private and manicured, with a lovely balance of shade and sunshine.
The location is second to none especially for walkers and cyclists. There are many of the cols frequented by the Tour de France within a few miles of the site and indeed the tour passed the campsite entrance on two recent consecutive years. At night the silence is broken only by the sound of the river and owls.
Shooting stars can be seen in the magnificent night sky and morning is announced by the sound of cow bells. I would recommend this site to anyone who feels at one with nature but - don't pinch my spot!

Small quiet, well maintained site situated in beautiful Pyrenean countryside close to the Village of Trien du Ustou. Lots of bird life to view - we saw blackcaps, goldfinches and eagles overhead. There are lots of walks suitable for all ages and abilities.A really pleasant walk is along the River that bounds the site up the valley to Ustou,St Lizier and Serac.
There are mature pine tree for shelter from the sun in summer and I understand from the New English owners that they are going to provide a 'Lapp Kota' i.E. A barbecue house for rent.
This is an all year round site within 20 minutes of the ski slopes at Guzet Neige. There is a small rustic restaurant in the Village. There are also several mobile homes for rent. There are three toilet blocks with disabled facilities, all extremely well maintained. Electric hook ups .A small cafe with ice cream sales etc and also itinerant butcher, baker etc delivers in July and August.Gas can also be obtained at the site. There is a boules pitch and child swings.
There is also a dish washing and vegetable preparation area.Laundry facilities including an iron. There is also a family room with a selection of games and books.
