 We used this site for just one night to give our trailer tent a practice run after we recently purchased it. We found the owner to be very friendly and helpful - he pointed us in the direction of a lovely walk to take the dog!
The road to the site is very narrow, and could be problematic if two people towing caravans were to meet coming in opposite directions, however we found the road to be very quiet.
The site was excellent value for money, and the price included the toilet and hot shower facilities. The facilities are basic, but very clean and hot water in the sinks in the toilets was a bonus we had not expected, as was the provision of toilet paper!
The field was well drained - it poured with rain overnight, and the field did not get waterlogged at all. Our tent was pitched on a slight slope but this did not cause us any problems, and the electric hook up was easily accessable.
Pen y groes was only a 5 minute drive away, and contained plenty of take aways, a petrol station, londis etc. Caernarfon, a 15 minute drive away offers a Tesco, Morrisons etc and also an excellent camping accessories store with very friendly and helpful staff.
The camp site would be an ideal base to explore the surrounding areas of Beddgelert, Snowdonia, Caernarfon, Anglesey, Porthmadog and many more.
Overall, we were impressed with this quiet, friendly site. However, if you want partying and good nightlife then this is not the place for you.
