What a lovely site, Beautiful setting, pleasant and helpful owners and great value for money.

Had a last minute stay at the site in April 2013, moved here after the previous site we were staying at let us down. The owners were only too happy to help us out and had last minute availability.

Being a typical male, I got the directions wrong but the owner was only too happy to come and meet us somewhere so we could follow her. Where else do you know that would do that!

Upon arrival one of the owners was straight out to welcome us and happily showed us around and help us choose a pitch. Its a working sheep farm set on 50 acres but a fantastic section split off as the touring site. It was a very windy day so was glad we could go on hardstanding. After being there 15 minutes another owner came and offered to help us set the tent up, again where else do you know anywhere that would do that?

The owners we cannot complement enough as they were happy to help at any point, even parking a tractor by our tent to block the wind. The owners have three very helpful boys who are a credit to their parents.

The facilities are great with two toilets and a separate shower, immaculate! There’s a sink for washing up which is outside which is lovely on a sunny day watching the sheep!

There is a little town a mile away with everything you need, spar, fish and chip shop, pubs, cafe and just further down the street a Londis and petrol station.

Its a great location if you want to go a drive out to Welshpool, Barmouth and other sea side locations.

We will be going back in a heartbeat as it really is a lovely site and great value for money. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Excellent little quiet campsite set roughly a mile south from llanfair caereinion.

Owners incredibly generous and relaxed. We paid £8 for 2 people a tent, car and electricity. Top that!

Facilities (portable shower and toilets) very clean and relatively new.

Llanfair is good place to have a beer(3 pubs) and shop for groceries there is a spar in the village and mini market at the garage on the A458.

Site is on a slope but you'll get over it. Many thanks to the owners.

Stayed 3 nights at Pentre Penarth, owner really friendly, helpful. Toilets and showers really clean. A previous review on this site worried me for they said be careful of ticks if you visit with your dogs - I spoke to owner and they have 3 dogs and they never have problems with ticks and my dogs were fine.

Petrol station, shops, pub, fish shop near by. Only one downside we were on a slope, if it was flat we would definitely go back. The owners said they were going to level the ground, and also build a new toilet block in near future. If this is done we will be back

Small, basic site - ideal for us.

Welcomed us and our 4 bikes, very friendly, went off to find wood so our stands didn't sink in the ground, re-froze our freezer blocks, and went out of there way to sort us a taxi!

Very small tourer section, better suited to tents, you will need transport into town - the road has no pavement.

Very nice people and decent portacabin facilities. Its a working farm with a small paddock for camping, great scenery and very quiet. Stayed a night and would be back. The Black lion in town is a good pub with duke box!

Wanted somewhere to camp for two nights near Castle Caereinion. A small, very clean site with the best shower I have ever had on a basic site. We paid £8 per night and it was worth every penny. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and were happy to help out in any way possible. Another camper had come with no means of heating water and the lady (sorry didn't get your name) brought a boiling kettle of water out for him both mornings. We went into Llanfair for an evening meal on the first night and got an excellent meal with good service and very reasonable prices in one of the pubs. Yes, the site is on a slope, but what a view to wake up to. Will definitely be going back again next year. Many thanks for helping us to have a great weekend.

We stayed here for one night while house-hunting, and had phoned an hour before on the off-chance of a pitch. No problem at all - only one 'van on site. Quite a sloping site, but for one night we managed. I don't think we would stop longer though. Amazingly it was only £10, which included EHU. Two very clean and modern toilets, plus a free hot shower, in what seemed to be a new modular unit. Good wash-up together with a fridge. Very friendly owners with three polite and hard-working boys.

This is a working sheep farm, so be prepared for a lot of rural noise and activity, well into the evening and early morning. If you have a dog keep an eye on what it consumes (!) and be aware of the tick problem that seems to plague Mid-North Wales.

Can't vouch for the village, but passing through it seemed to have all the facilities on offer, together with the W&L railway.

Looking for a one night stay at very short notice to visit the mid wales food festival, at near by Glansevern Hall - highly recommended. The owners were very quick to return my call and confirm the booking. Two small tents (2 adults and 7 yr old)with an electric hook - up £10 offered outstanding value. The facilities toilets and shower were very clean and adequate.

Plenty of room on a slight slope to play ball etc as there was only one other tent on site.

The welcome was very friendly and helpful, would stay again if in the area to explore the local steam trains, walks & castles, there is an info booth on site with tourist leaflets etc.

The site was situated a little past sat nav location, the sign is a little obscured by growth but this has no reflection on the site and appearance.

We wanted one night away, using our two small tents. Ended up paying £8.

What you get is a fenced off part of a sheep pasture on a working sheep farm. Like the other review said, there is a bit of a slope but the whole landscape is rolling countryside. In fact, the view we got in the morning was sunrise over trees, fields and hills.

Two toilets, one shower. Not a busy weekend when we stayed, and this is a small site, but the facilities are limited. No problem with cleanliness. One sink for washing up: no roof just a sink.

There was enough room for the kids to play: not sure how it would be if it was full. There are two boys at the farm so the sound of kids playing isn't going to stand out.

As I drove up from Llanfair, I missed the sign the first time: keep your eyes peeled.

Llanfair has three pubs, a butchers, three local shops, counting the one on the main road, and a cafe that was OK for coffee and cake. It's also got something that is a cafe/bar/choclatier: interesting combination.

There's a chip shop and we took fish and chips back to the site but there was a mixed verdict on it.

I think there was more to the town than we discovered. There are apparently some walks along by the river to an arboretum.

There is a railway that runs to Welshpool (so count another cafe at the station) and it goes through some bits of country that are hidden from the main road. The train crew were good to our kids.

You are also close to Powys Castle.

I don't want to call this a basic site because sometimes 'basic' is shorthand for 'tatty'. What you get is a bit of grass to camp on in some lovely countryside, sufficient facilities and plenty of fresh air when you wash up.

Stayed here may bank holiday weekend, what a friendly site ! we needed somewhere short notice as we were using our tourer for first time, and thankfully they had a pitch. At £10 a night you really cant get better value, hosts really friendly too ! Very clean shower unit. Only criticism would be pitch wasn't very level, but hey you cant have everything
