This is back to basics camping and having your own facilities would be a plus but that is the only negative.
This site has the most fantastic views ever, you can see for miles and you'd never know that you were only a couple of miles from Alton.
All the bar staff in the pub were very friendly and the food is excellent. Their website advertises £5 a night per person and the only add on was for electricity, which is excellent being so close to Alton.
Although site is on a steep slope a number of pitches have been levelled off.
This is one to watch as you can see that it is being in the process of being upgraded.Just hope they keep their prices fair.

Just got back from a stay at the Raddle Inn which I will say with out a satnav you would never find and pick the time you arrive as the road is only wide enough for one car.
The Inn is lovely and the views fabulous however the site for camping is in the dark ages after just having 5nights in bungay at outney meadow it makes this place like camping in your back garden.
The price was mad @£5 per person and £5 elec making it £25 per family of 4.
The toilet block is unisex and was not cleaned the whole time we were there which was to visit Alton Towers.
On our last night we were visited by rats which I am sure was due to the rubbish around and the wet nature of the field.
I would not recommend this site for camping although the cabins looked fine the noise level was vast so earplugs are needed it is not suitable for children as there is nothing for them to do.
This is a site recommended for 1 night as a base to use for a visit to Alton Towers!

We chose The Raddle Inn due to its proximity to Alton Towers, as I'm sure so many people do. After eventually finding it (not the easiest and the lanes are very narrow so if you meet something coming the other way it's great fun!) we popped into the pub to book in and enquire about food. The barmaid seemed a bit unsure about the procedure and eventually took our money and vaguely directed us to the field across the road.
We were a little confused because the website says it's £5 per person per night but our friend who came with us but using a separate tent was charged the same as us for one person?
The pub itself does excellent food at reasonable prices - you can even view the menu on their website!
We went across to the field to pitch our tent - unsure of whether we should take the car onto the field or not as we weren't told any ground rules or anything when we booked in. However there's a gravel car park next to the field so we left the car there after unloading it. The site has gorgeous views of the valley below but is also next to a working quarry which started at about 8 on the Saturday morning. What with the quarry, the sheep, the cows, the dogs and the noisy neighbours using the hot tub in the cottage also belonging to the pub, I'd recommend ear plugs!
There are raised pitches which are pretty flat and because it's quite a small field you're never too far from the toilet block. Which brings me onto the facilities. There's a bin outside the toilet block which wasn't emptied the whole time we were there so was quickly overflowing! The block itself is a wooden affair with unisex toilets, which was a bit of a nightmare. I had to keep checking there were no men using the urinals before going in to avoid getting a shock! The toilets seemed clean enough, but there was nowhere to wash your pots and the hot water ran out in no time in the sinks and the shower.
Overall, a bit of a strange one. The location is fantastic and the pub does great food, but the facilities need an update. There also need to be rules and regulations about noise, and someone around to enforce them. It's clear the campsite was an afterthought to the lodges and cottage and think they will probably put more money into it if it proves popular.
