Stayed here in May 2010 on a touring pitch with EHU. Weather was fantastic.
£20 deposit needed for barrier. A lot of seasonal pitched and people backwards and forwards with boats as there is boat storage on site. They are plenty of supermarkets and shops nearby and only 10 mins walk to the beautiful beach. Must try the bacon and cheese burgers from the butchers in Abersoch.
There is a children's play area on site.
Toilets and showers very clean but there are no private changing rooms which didn't bother me but my teenage daughter wasn't too happy about it.
Security very good and wardens are around most of the time.
Would go back as we had a wonderful time.

Just returned from a week here, 4 adults and 4 children in 2 tents with EHU. Good campsite.
Plus Points.
1)Clean and well maintained.
2)Secure and safe (security barrier at entrance)
3)Friendly fellow campers
4)Close proximity to 2 beaches via short walk (10mins)
5)Short drive to Abersoch village and Phwelli town.
6)wide open spaces and plenty of space on camping field.
7)New looking toilet shower and laundry facilities
8)Playground for the children (about 45 mins of entertainment value before bored).
9)sloping field has 'levelled' spaces for tents
10)Friendly male owner
11)New EHU's with trip switches.
12) More than one fresh water tap in camping field
13) the Ice-cream man visits site
Minus Points.
1)Trip switches on EHU's
2)Less than friendly female owner
3)Toilets and showers closed between 11am-1pm
4)Tiny on-site shop (mainly closed for duration) - could do with being open for bread, milk, papers etc.
5)Dog poop on the camping feild from the less considerate dog-owners
6)No family shower facility (one disabled shower room but only for the disabled, we did use it once but it was noted and then locked!)
7)Moderate use of lane in between camping field and caravan park by some cars and vans visiting nearby (nothing to do with the site)
Additional Notes.
Visit the rabbit farm nr criccieth we had a great time and our friends even came home with a puppy from there.
Pwhelli has an asda and a somerfield and only an 8 min drive away. Or there is a Londis nearer but this closes at 8pm and is rather expensive and no well stocked.(Visit the pub next door for a good meal and a great children's adventure park around the back)
Abersoch in beautiful, the beaches are spotless and very child friendly. There are a few shops in the village mainly selling clothes geared at surfers and sporty types, but there is alos a good pub called the Vaynol that serves great food and has a kids play area at the back. There is also a good fish and chip shop opposite the chemist that was lovely.
Had a wonderful time but would probably go somewhere that had more to do for the kids as if it hadn't been for the lovely weather we would have been stuck in a tent!

Just returned from a week at this site. On the whole a pleasant week only tainted slightly by noisy fellow campers rather than site issues.
If your into watersports then its geared for you with a separate boat parking area.
Its 10 mins walk to the beach via a cut through of The Warren site just across the main road.
Shops, well there's a few in Abersoch itself and 5 mins from site in car at Lllanbedrog is a small shop with parking. Bigger supermarket shops can be found in Pwllheli.
The tent field is on a slight slope but does drain and dry out well, it is in some places on the field a little exposed but nothing too bad.
On site facilities are a small shop, a toilet block that's well kept and clean. The showers are not to everyones liking as they are the barn door type with communal drying dressing area. Washing up sinks and laundry room with a freezer and wet suit washing area.
If you want a beach holiday in that part of the world then it could be the site for you, if you want to explore the Welsh mountains the it isnt. Pwllheli is a pain for traffic wasting valuable holiday time.
Oh finally there is a kids play area on site but its well away from the tent field.

Just come back from a 2 night stay in Gwel y Mor (2 adults + 2 kids in a 6-berth tent with EHU).
We arrived without a booking, having been let down by a nearby campsite (where we had booked EHU but they had none available when we arrived). The site manager gave us a not-so-subtle once-over before confirming availability of a suitable pitch for £25 per night + £20 refundable deposit for a toggle for the site barrier.
The site itself comprises of 2 fields. The first contains the reception office, a small shop, a toilet block & lots of very tightly-packed touring caravans and the second contains an overflow carpark, a small football pitch and the tent area, including about 8 pitches with EHU.
The tent field, which was almost empty throughout our stay, is grassy and well-drained, but slopes gently down from back to front. For small tents and non-EHU pitches, this won't be a problem - just orient your tent accordingly - but the proximity of the EHUs is such that, for large tents, you have no choice but to sleep across the slope, so. Come morning, everyone is piled-up in the bottom corner of the tent!
The kids on the site congregate each evening on the football pitch & ride their bikes around, but the noise is reasonable and they are mostly gone by 9:30pm and the 11pm quiet rule was definitely well observed by all.
The toilet block is modern, heated and of a high-quality compared to those found in most campsites. The gents consisted of around 5 urinals; 8 'traps' & 8 shower cubicles - more than adequate provision given for the number of tenters (presumably caravanners use their own facilities?). Hot water was always readily available, as was soap, toilet paper and paper hand-towels. Cleanliness was patchy though, but IMO this reflects as much on the people using the facilities as it does on those maintaining them! One point to note: don't get caught short between 11am and 1pm - the block is closed for cleaning during this period.
