Stayed here for one night when I was doing the Yorkshire Three Peaks.
Very much a 'you get what you pay for site' at £2. 50 per night. Do not expect the ritz. There is one toilet and no showers.
Access is over stiles on the wall so ensure you have means to get your equipment over the wall with you.
The campsite is next to the Helwith Bridge pub, which is a lovely friendly pub. The pub do not own the camping field but gladly pointed me in the right direction of the owners on arrival.
Probably wouldn't stay again but that isn't a slur on the site. They are very honest about what they set out to provide.

We have just got back from a two night stay at Helwith Bridge And was happy overall. We took a quite bulky five man tent and contrary to other posts, we had no trouble setting up whatsoever. There are now two gates onto the site from the carpark.
The site is as basic as you can get but we expected that for £2. 50 per head so no problem. The pub now has nothing to do with running the site (Though it is them who deal with bookings!) so its a bit confusing trying to pay. The staff in the pub are helpful though and sorted us out.
The only minor downside was even though we were the only tent staying, during the night a group of soldiers arrived and hogged the toilet in the morning. Noise from wagons to and from the nearby quarry was a slight annoyance too.
All in all a decent site and a good basic base for walkers etc. The pub is a bonus.

Used this site during a weekend's kayaking course. I had read reviews here & elsewhere and knew what to expect, packing light with my one-man tent and kit that I could easily carry. As it happens it's no distance from the car park to the field and unless you have a lot of kit it's no big deal.
There is one toilet / washbasin and no shower. There were only three tents on the site so it wasn't an issue but might be interesting in summer.
Pub is excellent, good range of beers but didn't try the food.
If what you want is somewhere cheap and basic to pitch, this is for you. Otherwise it isn't.

We parked up in the level car park with great views, talked to the owner and went in for pie and peas. ('chips will take about 25 mins' said the girl behind the bar ' because I have to put the chip pan on') We didn't bother with chips and pie and peas at £2 seemed a bargain. The coal fire was on and the locals included us in their conversation. It cost us nothing to park there as we'd had a meal. A really quiet night with sparking skies was followed by rumblings from the quarry as the lorries started up the next morning and the first train passed by. A good stopover.

I've been in this pub quite a lot, and know it's a good hang out with anyone who likes the outdoors.
However despite being a great pub, the camping leaves a few things to be desired.
There's no vehicle access to the field so everything has to be carried on. As mentioned, there's a very steep ladder stile to negotiate - not the easiest place to set up unless you're backpacking.
The field itself is mostly flat, moderately well drained, and has great views on Pen Y Gent. It does suffer from being used for sheep grazing a little but that's not too bad really.
The issues arise with the management of the field - there is none. It was a bank holiday weekend when we visited; we were part of a team trip, so there were half a dozen tents on the field with our friends in. We are all seasoned campers so set up with little bother.
There is no direction or management of pitches, so as other campers arrived, they set up in silly places - in front of the ladders stile so they were closest to the car park for instance - and others seemed to have no concept of 'too close' when it came to other tents.
There are no rules of the site on display - because there are none - and it became obvious that some people had just turned up to drink, swear, let their children chase the sheep, and leave their litter blowing around.
In summary at £2.50 per person per night, I didn't expect too much, but even then I felt let down. It wouldn't take too much to ensure some standards of behaviour on the field, but otherwise I'd not recommend the site.

Good, basic camping to be had in small field adjacent to pub. Pub has a large car park to the front giving easy access to camping field although access is over a ladder stile which may not suit everyone. They may open the gate if needed? Its a small field, and when we stayed we were the only 2 tents there.
Charge was £2.50 pppn. Facilities are basic, water standpipe and a single outdoor toilet at side of pub for use when pub closed etc.
Pub is pretty good and food portions big. Lots of choice of beers and real ale. Child and dog friendly.
On the whole, a cheap and basic site with easy access to Settle, Horton, Ribblehead etc. Lots of good walking.
