Further to my review of Sep 2009.

My wife and myself liked this site so much that from Sept 2009 we have had our caravan here full time.

The site is now very busy but does not spoil the peace and quite we are used to. A new toilet block was built but because of problems with electric supply will only be open this July (fingers crossed)but existing shower/toilet still good. There are now two new cabins along side the old one. Building is starting very soon converting the restaurant to a cafe and tackle shop.Which will save on travelling for bait etc etc.

The long drive way is to be relaid and a proper car park opened up for visitors.

Sean and Sarah are doing a very good job of building this site up from a run down ruin.

Fishing is still very good, Sean as spent a lot of money on restocking the main pond.

I have made a lot of friends and have talked to a lot of people who have stayed on site be it in a cabin / caravan / tent and all have said they would return.

Highly recommended

We have taken a month to write this review to make the right decision on what to put. Our feelings from the departure of our last week at froghall have not changed therefore here goes.

It is with regret that we have had to make this frank review as the owners do have great plans for this site.

When we arrived for our 1st visit in April 2011, we were greeted with over flowing dustbins and rubbish to the entrance of the touring area. My heart sank thinking it was a dump.

The new toilet block looked fantastic. However it is still not open as the owners have had to apply for a grant to put in electrics for it. There is a single toilet (dirty, no loo roll, towel, soap) that is for campers and fisher persons, and a single shower. Think the hot water was a good point, cant think of another. We talked with a lot of caravanners during our 2 stays and one lady mentioned that it was her 2nd year here and after her 1st week of a 2 week stay she had had enough and cleaned the loo and shower herself as no one did it. She left her loo brush there and on the return a year later had to clean them again half way through her 2 week break as again it had not been done. (Her loo brush was still there!)

Our second visit, we stayed in a 'log cabin'. This was ideally situated on the bank of the main lake. The front door had a 2 ' gap round it. Luckily there was an inner door but this did not shut too either! Whilst fishing one day a couple came and spoke to us and mentioned that the owner had promised that the doors would be sorted for their return this year. The owner told us this was a 10 minute job to sort. Why had it taken a year and still not done?

We ran out of gas one evening and wanted a shower. We asked the owner if he would change the gas bottle and he replied 'cant it wait till tomorrow?' ! The water for the single shower for the site ran off the boiler in our 'log cabin'. Good job we stuck to our guns as 2 others used the shower block that night too.

In all, our honest opinion is, the owners need to get right now (no excuses) what they have got already before making further plans.

We wish every success to Sean and Sarah and sincerely hope everything goes to plan.

Oh and the fishing wasn't bad. Life belts???

Stayed here for 3 days in June, it was chosen because of the on site fishing, as me and my partner both fish. Sean the owner and his wife very friendly and helpful, we pitched the tent near the main lake, just had to step out of the tent and fish. We caught plenty of fish while we were there biggest being carp around the 6lb mark.

Toilet and shower basic but nice hot water, but sean hopes to have the new toilet and shower block up and running by October. He's done a lot of work on the site since he took it over 2 years ago, and has plans to improve it more.

There is a pub just up the lane and a shop in the village, or a 5 minute drive away more chose in louth. All in all a nice little site with very good fishing we will be back again.

Just come back from having another great time fishing at froghall. The fishing was fab and as ever sean the owner was very helpful, us being novices.

Car’t wait to go back. If you want a relaxing holiday fishing then i suggest you try it here.

The new shower block is almost complete and there are disabled showers to, which is perfect for my husband.

My husband took me for my birthday after buying me some fishing tackle. As my husband is disabled this was a cracking place for us, everything was so convenient.

The campsite is stunning and sean the owner was helpful and down to earth. If you want a peaceful and relaxing holiday with great fishing, then my husband and I would definitely recommend froghall fisheries.

I caught 6 fish and I have never fished in my life, we shall be going again that's for sure.

I have just had a great week with my family here at Froghall Fisheries. I had a great experience while there, the site has been undergoing a complete refit. There has been much work carried out by Sean the owner since he took over with the building of new log cabins, full brick shower an toilet block which is only now opening and is disable friendly.

Sean has much knowledge and only too pleased to pass on his knowledge of his lakes to both me and my family about the fishing. We had a brilliant week fishing with all of us catching and not just catching bagging some great weights of fish including some big carp, tench, perch and roach.

My family and me were so impressed we will be returning later in the year for another week at this venue

Stayed for 5 days. Adults only which suits us. Very run down site, one shower but with plenty of hot water, one toilet which is also used by visiting fishing men/women. We used our own in caravan. Electric hook ups available. Total cost per night £13.00 with electric/awning/dogs/extra adult, not a bad price.

Waste disposal straight into cesspool with loose lid, stinks a bit.

Pub at entrance to site, did not use.

Small shop in village but Louth only a few miles away where there are plenty of shops.

Plans are being drawn up to upgrade the site.

Now the reason why we will keep going back THE FISHING IS FANTASTIC. Never had a blank day, caught loads. There are two main lakes/ponds with various fish in both.

If you want a peaceful, quiet site with fishing but with poor facilities then come along. I will be back again very soon.

Gave this site 10 out 10 only for the fishing/location/value.
