Great site. Fantastic views, clean washrooms, water to each plot, helpful staff and internet access throughout the site (for a fee). Every Thursday they had a professional orchestra playing at the restaurant which we listened to from the far side of the lake, wonderful! In fact my wife and I struggled to think of anything to fault this site. Searching hard for some criticism, the on site table tennis and volleyball tournaments were a bit disorganised and we organised them ourselves with a Dutch family. However, I suspect the disorganisation may have been because it was end of season. We enjoyed it anyway.

We chose the site because it was close enough to Innsbruck for shopping, evening entertainment, bad weather activities and access to the motorways to get to places quickly, but far enough away from Innsbruck to feel as though you are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by spectacular scenery with easy access to the mountains.

We had read the reviews about the toilet block, but it has to be seen to be believed - superb. Pitch area was good, and marked out by a hedgerow which we like, deterring people from walking through your area. Used the free bus service for Interlaken which was useful. Quite a few things to see and do in the area. Beautiful location with mountains as a backdrop. Good value using the ACSI low season discount card.

Got to be one of the best sites in the world! We were sited on the Panoramic section behind the new building which houses reception, shop, bar, showers and toilets. The facilities were new and excellent. There is an older toilet block on another part of the site which was also clean but not as good as the new block!

The shop has a limited supply of fresh meat so you do need to find a supermarket. Food shops and shopping centres close on Sundays but there is a small supermarket at Innsbruck railway Station. The site supplies a free bus service into Innsbruck which we used a number of times.

There are two lakes, one for swimming which has an assortment of floating things to climb on and a very good slide. Please note that the is often no lifeguard on duty. The lake is very clean and safe for all the family.

We had no children with us but there is a children s club run daily. Across the lake from the camping area is a restaurant and bar and a takeaway. The takeaway was only open for about 2 hours each evening and the restaurant will only take food orders until 9pm.

We could not fault the staff on site and in the restaurant. Our awning collapsed during a heavy storm while we were out. On our return we found the site maintenance staff bailing the water out and trying to repair the broken poles, that's what we call service.

We booked in using our ACSI card but chose to upgrade our pitch to fully serviced as there was a higher ampage of electricity plus water and waste on the pitch and it was a bit more spacious. I'm glad we did as the standard ACSI pitches were quite small with no foliage separating you from your neighbour. We were up the hill and had no view but that didn't matter as there was so much to do around and about the site that we were barely on our pitch in daylight.

Up the hill the chemical toilet disposal is inside the door of the ladies toilet which is a bit crazy - admit it girls, if there's a man in the van, there is no way that we're emptying the chemical toilet!

This smaller facilities block was decent and very clean although it seemed a bit faded when compared with the utterly glamorous main facilities block with hollywood style lit mirrors and even a separate dog shower.

The wifi signal did not reach our pitch so we had to use our laptop in the bar. This was no hardship as this was the best campsite bar I've ever been on - very casual chic with one of the nicest barmen, Mike, we've ever had the pleasure to be served by. In fact all the staff were so nice and helpful in every part of this campsite. The restaurant staff were so helpful to me (I'm vegetarian) and were so good at English that they were joking away with us. We had a lovely meal and unlike another reviewer, I didn't find this expensive at all.

We didn't use either the boating lake or the swimming area as the weather was slightly pants. However I can imagine that in nice weather both would be very well used. I thought it was a nice touch to have all the inflatable pieces, which would attract the older kids, and a separate toddler area.

The site is 7km outside of Innsbruck but there is a free bus service laid on and you will be given a timetable when you arrive. Be aware that in some of the journeys, you may have to change bus in one of the villages.

We went for a couple of walks to local villages, perfectly doable and fairly flat and wonderful to see the scenery.

Innsbruck itself is absolutely wow. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Innsbruck card, it is such good value and other cities should learn from it.

All in this is the best campsite I have ever been to. They are constantly looking for improvements so I look forward to seeing how much better they can get. Other sites should take note!

To Find Site:- From the Brenner motorway exit at Innsbruck Sud. At end of slip road join road and immediately move to the left and do a you turn around fuel station. At roundabout take first, sharp, right signed to Natters. Follow road to the village of Natters and watch out for sharp right turn signed for campsite. The campsite is about a mile further on. Pass old reception building and car park and continue to new reception.

We first came to this campsite 20 years ago and this is our third visit. Of all the campsites we have been to across Europe this one has the most spectacular setting we have yet to see. The campsite is set out around the lake called Natterersee with the backdrop of high mountains. Since our last visit in 2000 there have been many impressive improvements to the facilities and pitching areas. In all there are around 200 touring pitches. There are four categories of pitches, standard 55/70 sq mts, Comfort 90 sq mts, luxury 100 sq mts and luxury S/lake 110/155 sq mts. The standard pitch is the base price but you can upgrade to larger pitches for an additional supplement, even if using the ACSI Card. All pitches other than the standard ones have access to 16 amp electrics, the standard only have 6 amps. Connections are via CEE17 blue plugs. All pitches other than standard are fully serviced with water and waste connections, they are also enclosed by low hedges. There are three pitching areas, one in front of reception on two sides of the lake, a new area behind reception with wonderful views of the mountains and the final terraced section high up above the campsite, access to this area is up some steep roads. The site has two toilet blocks. The one on the higher terrace is older but still of an excellent quality. The new block next to reception is something else and certainly has a wow factor. I suppose you could argue that it’s a bit OTT for a campsite but it is superb. There are hairdryers in both men’s and ladies. Suffice to say that they contain all pedestal toilets and paper is provided. Even the chemical waste point has a hot water supply for rinsing plus paper towels and soap. To cap it all there is even a dog shower. The site has a lovely restaurant right on the shores of the lake with a large open air terrace. The menu is reasonably priced and meals generous in portion size. The only slight downside is that wine by the bottle is very expensive although strangely cheaper by the glass. There is also a takeaway menu available from the restaurant. The actual lake called Natterersee is divided at the restaurant and the side away from the campsite is used for swimming with sunbathing on the surrounding lawns. Both the restaurant and the swimming lake are open to the public. The plush reception includes information on the area and on the side of reception is a good site shop, even selling English newspapers, however not everything was priced during our visit. The other side of reception is a rather smart bar area. The site offers a WiFi service although, like me, many campers found it not very reliable especially at certain times of day. About the only disappointing thing about the site especially as it is not a cheap service. This site is very popular and was full most nights during our visit in the second week of June so early arrival might be sensible if turning up on spec. There are tour operators on site. It accepts the ACSI Card and Camping Cheques although it seems it will be the last year it will be accepting the latter.

If you are a first time visitor there is a lot to do in the area. There is now a bus service from the site into Innsbruck and on arrival you are given a pass for free use of this bus. For something different you might want to visit the Swarovski Kristallwelten at Wattens which is basically an art gallery based on the use of crystal. Unfortunately you can’t visit the Swarovski factory. Many places in the Tirol are within easy travelling distance of the site. Another worthwhile excursion is the tram from either Natters or Mutters that goes up into the mountains to Fulpmes. For shopping Innsbruck has endless opportunities but nearer to the site there is a nice supermarket in Mutters with a fuel station next door.

On the plus side: As other reviewers said, the facilities at this site are truly luxurious, the best (and roomiest) showers we’ve ever come across. The setting is very scenic, with lovely views, and there are lots of things to do, including organised activities for kids and walks for adults.

The lake is divided in two, one half (which is full of giant carp) for boating and the other half for swimming, complete with water slide and inflatables. The restaurant is on the lakeside but we didn’t use it as it’s quite expensive, as is the shop (2. 50 euros for your breakfast baguette. )

On the minus side: The pitches come in several sizes but if you use an ACSI card you are only entitled to the smallest, which only have 6 amp electricity (the others have 16 amp. ) It doesn’t mention this in the ACSI book. These basic pitches are so small we couldn’t fit on, so had to pay a supplement to have a bigger pitch (although it still wasn’t particularly spacious. )

We were also charged a supplement for some of the nights we were there, because they were classed as peak season - again, not according to the information in the ACSI book. And on top of this there is a tourist tax of 4. 50 a night. So not the best site if you’re on a budget!

Many of the pitches are quite badly worn, with large bare patches which become very muddy when it rains (which it did frequently during our stay. ) We felt it might have been better if they had spent a little less on the state-of-the-art showers and a little more on the state of the pitches.

The site has Wifi throughout but it was the amongst the worst we have ever come across, as the server kept losing the connection or was very slow. When we mentioned this to reception they said there weren’t enough lines for the amount of traffic, and gave us 2 free hours.

It was a very noisy site, with outfits arriving and departing constantly from early morning until late evening. The staff whiz round the site on Segways which make a loud whining noise. Innsbruck Airport is not far away so there is some noise from low-flying aircraft, although not too frequent. We also found a lot of the campers (who were mainly Austrian and German) noisy and inconsiderate. So, not a campsite for a peaceful, relaxing stay!

There are a lot of mosquitoes around the lake so avoid lakeside pitches if you react badly to bites.

But, on a more cheerful note, the facilities block has an exhibition of the world’s largest collection of toy and model caravans and motorhomes!

We stopped off at this site on our way back from 3 days in Italy, and we wanted to visit Innsbruck and break our journey back to Calais. We ended up staying 3 nights, sacrificing another stop on route home.

What can you say ? This Campsite defines quality. This attention to detail is something you rarely see in hotels, let alone on acampsite.

On arrival we checked in, and were advised, that someone would escort us to our pitch, which was level pitch, with own water supplu, Electric and Satelite TV hookup. We did not bring a TV though so can not comment on the channels available.

The grounds were well maintained, and whilst the site was busy, we felt that the space between pitches was adequate, we were set back from the lakeside, but still maintained full views of the lake.

The Laundry/Toilet/washing up block was immaculate, and to such a high standard, the wife had to take photos, otherwise our family and friends would not believe us when we told them the site was that good.

A useful tool was continually updating weather service on the TV in and outside the Shower block, which allowed us to amend our plans slightly according to weather.

2 Minor down points. The reception was a bit Sluggish at times, but the standard of service was very good, maybe at peak times, it may be better if they served customers a bit quicker.

Secondly, it was a bit out of town, however that was more than compensated with a Free bus pass between the site and Innsbruck. A timetable was provided as well detailing some of the bus services.

Overall a very good site, and worth stopping at as a destination in its own right as there is plenty to do in and around Innsbruck.

Will be returning in the near future

This is the best site we've ever visited - period! If it was you who tipped us off about this site (while staying at the Kaisersberg Aire) - thank you!

It's about 5 miles from Innsbruck and tucked at the end of a pretty valley, with amazing views of the mountains. Ask for a north-western facing pitch in the 'Panorama' section. The site would make a good rest stop if you're planning a trip to Italy via the Brenner pass.

The facilities are absolutely amazing - like staying in a 5* hotel. The shower block is luxurious. I'd be surprised if we ever find better showers, toilets, wash-up area etc. The shower cubicles are carpeted, with huge mirrors, mains sockets, and lots of space. Why can't every site have facilities like these?

The pitches are generous, and have waste water pipes, hook-up and TV connections. There's several video screens on site that show continuous weather satellite pictures - very useful in this region.

It's probably not an ideal base for skiing unless you have a car, but there is a mini bus that drops and returns once a day. The reception staff are very friendly and they speak excellent english.

Prices were about €25/night inc hook-up, but worth every penny.

We found this site excellent enroute to Italy as it so near to the start of the Brenner Motorway.

The site itself was very good indeed, views at the back of the new reception to die for, mountains fields and snow. Everyone in the Reception were so kind and helpful, the new facilities were not quite all open but looked excellent.
Understand the approach use to be quite hairy for large outfits but now it has been changed we had no problems at all with a 8 metre twin axle caravan. The restaurant food and service was excellent. WiFi was good and reasonably priced.

Lots to see Innsbruck itself, mountain villages,Swarovski factory and glass making old town of Rattenburg, not too far away and a nice day trip up the Fern Pass to Garmish.
When we were there Nattersee only did Camping Cheques but now for 2010 will be taking ACSI Camping Card not sure whether they are continuing with C.C's. Hookups and all services on some of the hedged pitches, though when were there it was snowing and freezing so had to get water from an inside tap in the building opposite.
