A good site for a stopover or short stay, as said, between this and the sister site you have most things you need. In any case it's only a few miles to Abbeville where there is a supermarket in the town centre.
It's not far from the autoroute, so if you want to break your journey from Calais or Dunkerque and are heading south, this is just right if like us you don't want to drive too far. It is an ACSI site, €16 per night.
We thought it best to pitch in the area through the barrier at the top of the site wihch unusually has no trees so satellite tv signal finding is easy.
There is a hill up to the site, but it isn't a problem, other sites are worse.

Just returned from this very nice site. We spent six nights there and found the site to be very well run by nice people. We hired a fridge for the week which we placed inside the tent. It worked well and for 18 euros was good value. All facilities were spotlessly clean. It can be a little windy up at the back of the site, but it is prettier than the sister site down the hill. That site has a swimming pool and bar so between the two sites you have all that you need. Will certainly return.

As you drive into the site you wonder what on earth you are coming too, but when you reach reception it improves. As already mentioned, this site is a sister site of one 50 meters down the road. It is relevantly new. We stayed here for a week. Whilst we were there the new toilet block was opened at the top part of site (above reception) giving the option to use both when one is full. Each pitch is massive and has its own water tap so if you have a mains water adaptor for the aqua-roll, then don't forget to take it with you. We did have a meal at the sister site but would be classed as 'junk food', Beer was Ok. I would visit this site again even if it was for a short overnight stop. English is well spoken, but don't be shy in practising your French with all the staff, they will offer help when you make a mistake. There are play areas for children, but the grass was too long really for any to play

Good location for o/night situated close to jct 2 A 28, just after peage southbound Baie de Somme. Could be difficult to spot signs to site, you have to follow signs for sister site Val de Trie next door. Pitches are generally enormous, but it is on a hill and so a lot have some slope, some a lot of slope.
There are a lot of pitches so usually there will be some choice, though some are taken with seasonal pitches. General feeling was that this is the au naturel site, and Val de Trie the commercial site.
That said it is like being on your own family estate, very spacious, with lovely mature trees all around. Pitches have hedge dividers which seem not to be cut regular, again giving a natural feel about the place. A good place if you like bird watching, or rabbit spotting,
One toilet block clean and well maintained. Ratio of toilets/ showers to pitches would suggest things could be crowded if the site got full, although somehow you think it would n't ever be madly busy.
Bread and croissants can be ordered daily, and is delivered to your unit, though left on a table so get there before the sprrows.
Main shops are Abbeville 5. 5 miles, St Valery on the coast is about10 miles.
Baie de Somme is massive with things to do, too much to mention, but reception on the site gave the most comprehensive tourist guide ever encountered.
In summary if you like the rural idyll, this is definitely for you, but be prepared to travel a bit for services or things to do.
The sister site Val de Trie which does offer a small covered pool and bar is the exact opposite, with small pitches under trees, and whilst we did enjoy the pool when it was quiet, I suspect this would get very noisy indeed during French holiday periods.

We stayed at this site for one night only in 2011 and enjoyed our stay. In may 2012 we arrived at another site only to find that they had a faulty electric supply, contact was made late evening with this site who accepted our request over the telephone, told us to get a pitch, and they would see us next morning. Welcoming friendly staff who speak a little English.
The site is in the grounds of a farm with some large trees but also lots of open space, very pretty views along the valley. Large pitches with water supply. Some of the pitches are not level so blocks required. One toilet block, clean with elsan emptying point. Did not use the showers so cannot comment. Children's playground next to toilet block is well equipped and there is an outdoor gym with considerable new equipment near to reception, and bouncy castle behind reception. Bread and croissants can be ordered and will be delivered to pitch.
There is an animal enclosure with donkeys, goats, sheep etc Some chalets on the opposite side of the site which cannot be seen from the tent/caravan area. There is a sister site across the road where you can use an indoor heated swimming pool, bar and small restaurant. Good local shopping near Abbeville and St Valery sur Somme. Lots of restaurants at pretty St Valery which is well worth a visit. Good area for walking, mountain bike, cycling, and birdwatching

Just returned following a 7 night stay on this site. On arrival the sun was out and the outlook and remote feeling of the site gave a good impression. Receptionist very friendly and spoke excellent English. Told to find a pitch and let her know where we were. She then said something that seemed odd, considering the weather when we arrived. 'Use the disabled room or the baby change room for showers if you feel cold'
We drove around the site and I had to agree with the prior post about the length of grass, 6-8 inches. The first plot I tried sloped so much I could not get nose wheel low enough. Pulled onto a large central pitch and using all the wood I had managed to get level, well almost! Up went the awning and then came the sound of the mowing machines, all pitches trimmed, if only we had arrived later.
The toilet/shower facilities were not heated at all and were left open, the temp dropped to 6 degrees, so that was the temp in the block, the baby room and the disabled room both had closing external doors, but were still the same temp but without the wind. Only one half was available, the other side the cubicle doors were all locked, hot water was well warmish. The block really did let the site down.
From the ground works it appears that efforts are being made to level some pitches, but they had been left before being completed.
It rained for 3 days solid before we left, which is one of those things, but trying to get off the pitch was a nightmare. Using the motor mover enabled the pointing of the caravan in the right direction, but due to the soft ground and (on my pitch) long grass it could not get up the incline. I pulled it off with our Sportage, in 2 wheel drive we simply spun wheels. With 4 wheel drive engaged it was just possible to get off. In summary, would I go here again, yes but only in the dry when warm. Would make an ideal stop over for trips further south and back. Free wifi!

Pleasant area to stay in and a nice little spot. If you need a doctor receptionist very helpful. The only downfall really of this site is the maintenance or lack of it of the grass pitches. We must have driven round four or five times (we watched fellow campers do this too) before we found a suitable pitch for our caravan as they were in desperate need of a good mowing. Ankle deep in fact, and because of this the grass never dried out even when it was fine for a few days. While we were sat in our van we saw two very big motorhomes and a caravan get stuck which my husband happily towed off with our Jeep Grand Cherokee. We were there for eight nights and not once did they ever come round with the grass cutter even though we saw the owners twice mow around and near reception, first impressions I guess. In fact by the end of our eight night stay part of our pitch where we drove on and off favoured Glastonbury. We went to view the pool etc on their sister site Val de Trie across the road, the pitches were practically all bald and under trees, I couldn’t even have stopped there for one night it was not pleasant.
About the facilities. We arrived there in early September this year and they had locked all the cubicles in the men's toilets (was this to save cleaning?), but the men could still use the urinals - in full view of passers by including children as the door was jammed open, this meant males had no choice but to use the lady's cubicle toilets which wasn’t as you can imagine very nice for us lady’s! Would we stop here again? – There are plenty more places to choose around this area, sorry no.

We used this site for an overnight stop en-route to Calais. It is located not too far from where the A28 and A16 motorways meet at Abberville, just over an hours drive from Calais. To find the site you will need to follow the signs for the sister site Val de Trie from the main road, the D925.
It is a very quiet, peaceful site and has nice big pitches.
We was given a friendly welcome on arrival and was told to choose any pitch(the site was very empty even though it was August). We was also given the option of having bread delivered to our pitch the next morning.
The toilet/shower block was very nice and new. I have 3 young children and so was especially impressed with the family bathrooms which contained both an adult size and a child size shower, a babybath and adult and child size sinks.
There is no swimming pool on site but there is at the sister site across the road.
We went to have a look at the sister site, Val de Trie and we noticed that pitches there looked much smaller than the ones at Le Clos Cacheleux.
We would definitely use this site for an overnight stop again.

A lovely quiet site with very large pitches, quite a few of them on a slight slope. We were next to the area where the goats, donkey and sheep were, which was nice but there was a noisy barrier which they banged at night!
The wash block was new and clean and inhabited in the roof with swallows, so sweet!
The delivery of bread every day to your site was lovely and usefull.
We had a meal at the sister site on the first night, which was pleasant, didn't use this site much though much as we had our BBQ and like to cook our own food in the evening, eating out at lunchtime.
There are many supermarkets in the area, wherever you go!
The local area was fascinating, more than we expected. We had only gone for a week, but travelled out every day exploring all around, a lovely tiny hydroelectric power station at Long, which was along the Somme river kept my husband interested, we were the only visitors that afternoon, so got the full tour on our own.
The little villages in the area were lovely to see, especially the arches to the courtyards of the farms and the countryside was rolling and beautiful.
St Valery is always worth a visit, so is walking out along to the sea looking for the seals. On the other side is Le Crotoy which is different but up and coming!
When we have a day trip to France on the eurotunnel we quite often rush down to motorway to St Valery for a look round and lunch before shopping in the local supermarkets before going home.

Visited in April 2011 finally got around to writing a review. Only planned to stay overnight but liked campsite and area so we much ended up staying several days. We have always overlooked this area in our rush to travel south, big mistake, as there is plenty to do and see. Also good for cycling, quiet lanes and villages and a few small hills. Pitches huge (some uneven)and have water and electricity. Facilities modern and clean. Staff very friendly (They speak English if your French isn't too good) and are keen to make sure you have a pleasant stay, they have a good knowledge of the local area and are willing to share it with you. We are going to stay at this site again and would definitely recommend it.
