Stayed at Model Farm at very short notice - as someone else has mentioned, it was a bit (in fact, very) boggy at the time due to the horrendous weather we had all suffered, but we were offered a space by the house on hardstanding, which was excellent. Cannot fault the site from what we saw although due to the freezing weather and the lateness of the season we didn't use the loo block - we find it an ideal location for visiting family in North Norfolk and for getting out to the coast.
It can be a bit tricky to find (we rang through and got guided in by virtue of the fact that our headlights could be seen from the farm) and the approach road is narrow, but as long as you don't treat it like a motorway, you'll be fine.

Model Farm is a quiet out in the country side small camp site. The owners are very friendly and helpful
Our pitch was of good size and flat, but the field is sloping. The road leading the the site was of single track and narrow, look out for the flag if your sat nav is playing up to locate the camp site.
The facilities 'mixed' were kept clean and tidy, shower very hot 'can not adjust temp' there is however one problem, the shower toilet and pot washing and fridge our all under one roof, you can be using one of the facilities and campers can walk in, this lead to at times to queuing for those campers that did not want to intrude.

Back to our favourite campsite and yes it still is! I love this little site. The pitches are fab, beautifully kept, large and well sheltered. Dave is a friendly and helpful owner.
The facilities as ever were immaculate and even though site was full, including the horse field, they stayed immaculate. It is so well placed for places to go & things to do.
Bewilderwood, a magic place for children & adults alike is 15 miles. Cromer is 8 miles but Mundesley a real good, non-commercialised seaside with a great beach is 6 miles.
So much to do with the bonus of being based on a fantastic site.

This is our perfect weekend escape. The main field has 5 well spaced hookups and a small facility block.
The block has a WC, shower, wash basin and washing-up sink. A fridge is available and eggs for sale. Local info is there also.
CDP and water outside.
We were the only people on site until the last morning when a caravan arrived. Because we don't use EHU we were camped on the smaller field the other side of the drive so even if others were there we would have been very private.
The owner was friendly and gave us a map of the local area and recommended which fish & chips to use in North Walsham.
My parents visited while we were packing up and described the site as Rural Norfolk Perfection, I can only agree.
If only the pub was a little closer.

Nice site in excellent location - easy to find if you have an orange OS map as Model Farm is labelled.
Facilities - very clean, well designed, plenty of hot water. One shower, one toilet with small hand basin in cubicle, one other basin with shaver point and a washing up area. Fridge with freezer compartment - very useful. Fresh eggs also very tasty.
Two fields for pitches - 5 very large pitches with hookup plus another field (known as horse field as next to the horses as mentioned before) which has no hookup. Friendly owners gave us the choice of where to pitch as we were with a tent and didn't want hookup. Weather was very windy while were there but trees and hedges helped shelter tents from the wind. We were visited by a very noisy hedgehog one night which for us added to the fun!
Lots of places to visit locally - particularly recommend Blickling, Felbrigg and a trip to Cromer. Also nice walks on quiet lanes and footpaths straight from the campsite.
We would definitely return as it was a good location for touring and is the sort of simple, clean, quiet site we like.

A friendly little site!
It has one big field with a shower block (1 shower and 1 toilet) in the corner and each pitch was huge, with plenty of room for the kids to run around. There was also a field with a few ponies in, that the kids loved to look at.
We were recommended the site from the Bewilderwood website and we booked in advance and no deposit was needed.
We had two pitches for two families but the pitches were so large 1 would probably have been enough.
Not much else on site to do or look at, very rural location (did take us a couple of tries to find it) and directions were a bit hazy as there are a few campsites nearby and ended up at the wrong one.

We spent a week here in a tent with family who were in a caravan.
What a fantastic little site with very friendly owners. We loved it so much we have decided to return next summer for a week & perhaps in 2011 for a long weekend.
It has 5 pitches but they are enormous, we were all on one & the space was more than I have seen on 4 pitches elsewhere. The facilities whilst 1 shower, 1 washing up sink, 1 toilet & 1 person wash sink are fine for the small number there & are immaculate & always have hot water & are free.
The site is well enclosed so our 2&3/4 year old granddaughter could run around to her heart's content.
The one evening all of the campers there & their children joined in with a game of Frisby & it was perfect!
At night time, given a clear sky, the starscape has to be seen to be believed. We saw the Persids meteor shower and it was spectacular.
There is so much to do in North Norfolk & this site is perfectly placed not too far from anything.
We would especially recommend the Dinosaur World at Weston Park as being a fabulous day out for all.
Yes helicopters fly over but you get used to them very quicly & actually it becomes fun spotting them. This did not dim our enthusiasm about the site at all, in fact even with the helicopters it is one of the most quiet sites I have been on.
If only it allowed campfires then it would be Utopia.

We had a brilliant time at Model Farm. Beautiful location in the middle of nowhere. Take you food as there is nothing at all nearby, there is a pub about 5-10 mins in the car which is good. The facilities were spotless. 1 Shower 1 Toilet very clean. There are 5 pitches with electric if needed.
The kids had a ball running around. Very friendly owners. We had a campsite to ourselves as we had 4/5 pitches. The beach is about 10mins drive which is Mundersley(near Cromer). Life Guards on beach with good food in the Ship PH. I would go to this site again A real Gem. Also we went to Bewilderwood from here about 20 mins. Well worth the travel.

I can only agree with the other review, the facilities are all that is needed. Extras such as eggs for sale, fruit (in season), fridge (labelled please give priority to tent campers with no hook-up) makes it perfect.
The Weavers' Way is just down the road, and other footpaths nearby make walking from the site easy.
The nearest pub (The Goat Inn) is 45 minutes walk away, but only 10 minutes in the car.
Locally North Walsham is a small market town, with all amenities. Felbrigg, Sheringham and West Runton are all easily accessible and offer dog-friendly attractions.
During our break, I only heard 2 helicopters, but it was Bank Holiday. However the farmer next-door has a crow scarer which the owner was apologetic about, but the noise did not mar our relaxation.

Stayed for a week. Great little site. 0.75 acres flat with a gentle slope and sheltered on three sides by tall hedging. Didn't need any chocks but front steadies at maximum limit. Small facilities block including toilet with hand basin, shower (free), washing up sink and separate basin for a 'top half' wash. Cleaned every day with clean hand towel in toilet every day. Chemical disposal within the same block but accessed from outside.
The site is only 3.5 miles from North Walsham where there is a Sainsbury's for stocking up. If you prefer more organic stuff there is a good farm shop at Blickling Hall near Aylsham. Blickling Hall is also worth a visit. Nearest Beach is probably Mundesley. There is a six lane bowling alley at 'Strikers' on the road to North Walsham (2 miles).
The only warning I should give is that the site is on the flight path for the North Sea Gas rig helicopters. They don't fly during the night but do start at around 7am - suppose you should be awake by then anyway!
Site owners, Dave and Lesley, friendly and very helpful. Dave even checked the awnings on a particularly windy day when everyone was away.
