What a lovely site, located 500yds off the main road, lane single track some off but is ok. Very friendly and helpful owners, who are renovating the facilities, there are 2 blocks, the one by reception had a kitchen area with washing m/c tumble dryer and ironing, dish washing and eating area, with two toilets with basins and 2 separate shower rooms. Did not use the other block. The site itself is very well kept five fields with some great views. Great position for exploring the coast. There is a farm shop on the junction to the main road that provides fresh produce and on a tuesday & wednesday evenings has a take away Mexican that provided some very tasty food.
Would definitely return.

We chose this site from the excellent reviews, it was a very wise choice! A superb site, plenty of grass pitches (which we prefer) electricity points and water to our pitches. The site was beautifully kept, well mown and super clean with a great dog exercise area (super dog-friendly owners). The owners were very friendly and welcoming and were always happy and smiling, a nice change from some sites we've visited! The toilets and showers, whilst not brand new, are extremely clean and there's always plenty of hot water when we used them. The 'campers kitchen' was a welcome feature. 2 sinks for dish washing, a microwave and very useful freezer, washer and tumble dryer, top marks. But, by far the best feature of this site are the spectacular views of the bay and surrounding countryside, a real tonic when retiring for the night or when rising for a good breakfast.
The local beaches are beautiful and clean, the farm shop at the end of the lane is super, and there's a Tesco a few miles down the road at Cardigan for a larger range of goods.
We shall certainly be returning to this wonderful site, highly recommended!

Talywerydd camp site is located down a quiet country lane just off the main A487 Cardigan-New Quay road amidst the green, rolling hills of one of the most beautiful corners of the British Isles - beautiful that is when it's not raining. Fortunately, when we stayed we enjoyed a few cracking sunny days.
The site plays host to about two dozen caravan plots, some occupied by seasonal guests. These are located on a grass slope facing the road. There are some hard-standing plots, though the hard-standing pad tends to only be large enough for the caravan and not the awning and the car. There is an elsan and grey water disposal point, and water taps are dotted about close to each caravan. TV reception is remarkably good given the location and terrain. Although the site was quiet when we stayed, it can get quite busy in peak weeks.
There is also a tent field, which boasts the best sea views - including across Cardigan Bay to Cader Idris, Snowdonia and the Lleyn Peninsula on a good day - as well as a field set aside with goalposts and children's play equipment.
There two sets of toilets with shower cubicles: one located in the main amenity block, the other in a portakabin by the sports field. The main block also has a washing-up room with washing machine and tumble dryer (both coin operated), as well as an iron, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster. There is also a dining table to eat a meal at if you so wish.
Out and about, the nearest beach is Traeth Penbryn, which is about a forty minute walk down the lanes or a five minute drive in the car. There is car parking at the church (£1 in the honesty box, proceeds towards restoring the roof) or nearer to the sea front at the restaurant (£3. 00 all day, National Trust members and Blue Badge holders free). Otherwise, after 6. 00pm it is permissible to park in the turning circle at the beach itself. None of the locals seem to take a blind bit of notice of the 'no dogs' signs, although in fairness the beach is quiet and expansive enough for the odd mutt not to be noticed.
Other nearby beaches include Tresaith, Aberporth, Llangrannog, Mwnt and Poppit Sands. Conversely, if the rain does set in for the day then there is a superb museum of Welsh life through the ages located in the old music hall in Aberystwyth - admission FREE.
For stocking the larder there is a large Tesco off the bypass in Cardigan, smaller supermarkets in the villages along the A487, or a well-stocked (if pricey) little farm shop a short walk up the road.
In summary, Talywerydd is a well-tended site in a superb spot on the West Wales coast, run by friendly and obliging owners. We paid £95 for a seven night stay on grass and with EHU. So if you can pick a quiet week when the sun is shining then you will have bagged yourself an absolute gem that will not be too hard on the pocket.

Well just returned from a great week away in Wales weather was kind to us and spend most days on the beach!. We chose this campsite as we like nice simple & quiet sites and this is what we got with a lovely warm welcome from Martin & Kerry. The views of the sea are amazing but still sheltered the facilities are just what you want when camping!Washing up area, tumble dryer for damp towels!Games etc to borrow for kids, was a little worried about 50p showers having waist length crazy hair!but 50p-£1 was fine for washing it and showering!. Great campsite we will be back there again. Many thanks :)

Just come back from 2 nights here and am sorry to say we were disappointed. Owners were very pleasant, but even though there was plenty of space, we were directed to the farthest point of the camping field. The grass hadn't been cut and owing to the rain which didn't stop, our feet and shoes were soaking all weekend. The 'campers' kitchen is at the entrance to the site, nowhere near the camping field! The facilities are handy, and we made use of them, but it was trek to and fro in the rain with all your food. Unfortunately, whenever we needed it, there was never any hot water and we also heard other people complaining about this. The showers in this block are just dark cupboards, and were so claustrophobic we didn't go in them. The toilet block in the camping field was a scruffy portakabin. Although it was kept clean, it was cold in there. My daughter used the shower and after £1. 50 only managed to get a lukewarm quick scrub. None of us else bothered after that, it was horrible not to be able to shower for 2 days. There are no dishwashing facilities in the camping field.
I'm sorry to say that it seems campers are second class at Talywerydd. Its ok to say it's cheap at £13 per night for us all, but no point if it doesn't do well for campers. It seems that preference is given to all the sited tourers who have paid up to £1250 to be closer to the facilities they don't need! Nice area, we know it well, but we won't be returning to Talywerydd.

Stayed at this park for four nights last week. The owners are great, they took us to our pitch which was very spacious, told everything we needed to know and said they were there for us if we needed anything. The park is lovely, very spacious and very well laid out and the views are wonderful. It is well positioned for covering the whole area from aberystwyth down to Fishguard but we never went much further than New Quay, what a lovely place, I'd heard about the dolphins but didn't realise they would be so fantastic to watch! We once travelled all the way to the moray firth to see the dolphins and now I think that New Quay is actually better. Aberporth is very local with nice beaches, it has an Indian and Chinese takeaway virtually next to each other and I can highly recommend them both!
All in all a great site and we will go back.

What a brilliant site. This is our second visit and it just gets better each year.
Wonderful warm welcome from the owners on arriving who are always smiling.
If you want a peaceful site with beautiful countryside surroundings this is the place to visit. Sea views from the tent field.
Ample facilities to shower for the size of the site.
Owners have moved the kitchen area since our last visit. Freezer, washing machine, tumble, iron all available for a small fee.
Really enjoy this site would highly recommend for those looking at the area and wanting a peaceful site.
Definitely returning again this year and next

What a great site and what a wonderful part of the world!
Stopped with the missus for 10 days of very mixed weather, from high winds with torrential rain to still, sunny periods.
The hedges round the fields provided some shelter from the winds. Grass kept nice and short - no mean feat when the weather has been so bad. Good field drainage - despite all the rain the field was not waterlogged.
Clean toilet blocks with plenty of toilets, wash-basins and lovely hot showers.
Owners very friendly and helpful.
Loved the Campers' Kitchen - a separate stone building where you can cook (microwave and toaster), eat (table and chairs) and chill (small library) - great for doing the washing up when it was wet and windy outside. This is where the freezer is for your essential freezer blocks (no charge for this. ) Also includes a washer/drying machine and iron, but didn't use these so can't comment on them.
The nearby Llwynhelyg Farmshop (5 min walk) has everything you need at reasonable prices: www. Llwynhelygfarmshop. Co. Uk
Did some walking on the beautiful Coastal Path. Saw dolphins, seals, loads of birds including a Peregrine Falcon and Choughs.
Visited five local beaches. Swam in the sea from nearby Penbryn beach.
The views from the site are stunning, especially if you get a good sunset, as we did on 2 of the evenings.
My son with his wife and 2-year old pitched on the plot next to ours. The little outside play area with Wendy House and slide was my grandson's favourite.
As you can probably guess, we will all be going back - in August!

Firstly the proprietors were really helpful and friendly, making my family very welcome to an area we had never visited before. Good clear calm instructions to A&E, a requisite it seems to be for us when camping, all turned out well.
The loo's, showers and all other facilities were all kept very clean and plenty of them, this was school hols and never had to wait. 50p got you a long hot shower, if anything perhaps a bit hot for kids.
We were pitched on what is used as on overflow site, great for us, the kids played in the centre of the field which meant they were not disturbing other campers, we could see them and they had plenty of room to play and meet other kids, all good.
All beaches in the area we loved, loads of wild life and plenty to do, endless. The whole area is just beautiful, our love of Wales just grows every time we visit.
Didn't get chance to try the welsh farm shop at the top of the road but didn't find no shop on site a problem. We were out and about each day so picked up supplies as we needed them.
The site is lovely and quite but not without friendly people and a holiday atmosphere.
Before the dreadful storms hit Wales, the proprietors had warned us well in advance of the weather warnings which meant we could make our decision to leave and were safe at home instead of stranded, for which we are very grateful.
As you know that week the weather was not at its best but the site stood the weather very well, not muddy and drained well. The wet weather room a real plus.
All in all a Fab site run by Fab people.

Our hosts were extremely friendly yet unobtrusive which when you are on a break is appreciative.
Campers kitchen was a home from home touch which was extremely welcome on our last day when we were packing up, the cup of coffee was a perfect pick us up when it was cold.
Personally I would prefer separate entrances to male and female toilets and showers. Toilets were clean. Showers were hot.
The site was very clean. Grass well cut and good size pitches with water and electricity within easy reach.
Having no children with us for the first time I can't comment on facilities for children, only it was great to lie relaxing in bed and hear the excitement of children on an Easter Egg Hunt.
The location was ideal for our needs, easy travel to walk and climb. Travel required to eat at restaurants but once again as we had no children with us this was not an issue. Overall very pleased and will return.
There was a Farm Shop within a five minute walking distance which we would have visited if we had a tent full I'm sure.
