Reading the previous positive reviews I'm glad to say standards haven't slipped.
The site is well signposted and easily found.
Reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The pitches are spacious and clean with 16 Amp electric, as others have stated water is available on the pitches but there is a motorhome service point nearby for those that haven't got the right adaptors (although these are available from reception).
The amenities block was very clean although they could do with a few more cubicles.
The staff at the restaurant were extremely helpful too.
The tram into town is easily accessed from the site, the city is well worth a visit especially Les Machines de L'Ile (make sure you go on the elephant).
The aire is situated on the same site but was full, fortunately we'd booked onto the campsite because we'd planned to go to Les Machines de L'Ile, which was just as well as the site was full (but didn't seem busy).
This municipal site was easily as good as, if not better than many commercial sites.

Very positive experience staying at this site. Staff friendly and the gentleman who booked us in spoke excellent English so even though I'd polished up my 'O' level French it wasn't required in this instance.
We were holidaying with friends and when making our email bookings we had requested nearby pitches. The site was able to do this for us and kindly allocated adjacent pitches on arrival which were hard standing with a sandy surface.
Power (16amp) and water availability good. As per a previous review; you need an adapter for the water points on the pitch however you don't need an adapter if you fill up at the motor home service point and push button taps were scattered around the site for small containers.
Toilet and shower facilities very clean and well maintained. The shower cubicles were huge and included a washbasin.
Limited offering of food in the restaurant but well presented. The menu wasn't in English but was easily understood with only basic French knowledge.
You can order fresh bread in the restaurant for collection the following morning. There is a small convenience store nearby but it was closed for the holidays during our stay.
As per previous reviews, the tram into Nantes in just outside the entrance and is easy to use. I believe you can buy tickets at site reception but they had run out so we used the machine at the tram stop.
Sightseeing in Nantes - as well as 'Machines of the Isle des Nantes', we visited the beautiful cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul) and Chateau Des Ducs De Bretagne. All very worthwhile attractions. The old part of town is also good just to wander around and enjoy the atmosphere. Tourist information available at site reception.

We used this site for an overnight stay as our friends were there.
Reception was friendly and efficient.
Large, private, shaded hard standings.
Difficult to believe you are in a city - the site is very green and quiet. Smart, clean sanitary blocks. On site restaurant was pleasant enough, nice pizzas if a little overpriced. We sat on the terrasse and so could watch the kids play mini golf (free) and on the park.
We used the free swimming pool across the road. Indoor but wave pool, couple of slides and very clean.
We would definitely return for 2 or 3 nights and 'do Nantes' although be warned our friends cycled into the city centre and had one of their bikes stolen whilst they were sightseeing.

Not 5 star unless you want to sit in the bar which has a quite pleasant outlook. Toilet facilities were inadequate and smelly. Water point on pitch is supposed to be 8 litres a minute, read that as 8 per hour. If in a motorhome fill your tank before you get here. Restaurant was pizza and frozen food rehash. Plus point it is near the centre of the city.

Brilliant site for touring the city. Tram stops outside the gate and tickets are available from reception (24hr ticket for 4 people 7euros50). Staff were very helpful and all spoke very good english. Free access to the swimming pool over the road and discounted skating at the adjacent ice rink. WiFi coverage exellent over the whole site.
Three pin electrics with 16amps. Own drain and tap on pitch. Adaptors for the electric and water available from reception.
Toilets clean and tidy at all times of the day.
Free mini golf! on site bistro where you can also order bread and morning pastries (although it was the worst bread we have encountered in France).
Lots of things to see and do in the city. Les machines de l'ile is a must.
Expensive for our budget but you can't beat the location.

This very convenient for seeing Nantes. Buy a Nantes ticket which will give you roving transportation ( tram immediately outside site gate ), Free entry to a number of interesting sites, a boat trip for 1. 5hrs. And hop on hop off bus and mini train. 17. 5E per person. Cracking Value.
Check with site if any groups are going to be booked in at the same time, it can get noisy. They say that there is a warden on site during the night, with a noise curfew at 10. 00pm but his absence was obvious, as the noise went on till 1. 00am

Spent a couple of days in this site and found it very clean and well maintained as opposed to most sites we had had during the three weeks prior to this stay. Toilets very clean and modern. A very convenient site if you wish to visit Nantes as the tram stops close to the site. A large site with good wi fi reception.
Good walks nearby if you have dogs.
Would visit again. Camping Cheques accepted.

We spent 4 days here in mid August.
We were meeting friends in Nantes so decided to stay in the city rather than outside with the inevitable bit of a journey in. We would normally stay in the country and day trip to the cities.
We pre-booked as it was mid August. This was a wise decision as the site was very busy with a low turn over on the pitches. In fact they put up a sign up at reception indicating that all grass pitches were gone.
Reception was pretty straight forward with each of the receptionists speaking good English.
The pitches are on the small side within a minimal gap left to put out a table and chairs if you have a car parked alongside.
The pitches are semi open to each other with partial hedges dividing. The ground was a bit hard for driving pegs some bring the good hammer and the heavier pegs.
We were located opposite a new toilet block to be fair was very clean but heavily used - some queues for the ladies showers in the morning.
There is free WiFi thro out all the site which is heavily used and can be slow. Use it at 3 a. M. And it is lighting fast! You need ticket and code for each device - just ask at reception and they will give you a receipt type docket with the codes
There is free mini golf at the gate - it's ok, ask at reception for free clubs and balls.
This a 5 star municipal site so your are entitled to all day access to the pool which is across the road from the grounds. Again ask reception and give you unlimited entry tickets for that day. The kids loved the pool which includes wave pool, water slides, bubble pools, junior pools etc. There is an adjoining sun deck (outdoor) which you can laze the day away between dips. We literally spent all one day here. They close every 3 hours which allowed us snack, dry off and come back (get another ticket from reception to cover)
The city centre is 25 mins walk away or 8 mins by tram - the stop is at the gate.
There is a bakery 2 mins from the gate.
We didn't use the on site restaurant which appeared reasonable and well used.
We noted that most people were using the site as sight-seeing stopover for the city because of the convenience of the tram stop. A lot of motor homes were parked up for a number of days.
Water and electricity were convenient on each pitch with the standard 220v blue plug. Electricity was a healthy 16A so no problem boiling a kettle.
A great site for sight seeing of the city because of it's sheer proximity to the city centre. It is technically 5* but the tight pitches give a slight confined feel. Don't come with kids expecting them to make friends it's not type of site. Everyone is gone during the day.
Absolutely no problems with noise on site. Security guard very visible at night doing his rounds on his bike.
90% French on site with a smattering of Brits Dutch and surprisingly Spaniards.
In summary:-
Pros- great location, great pool and ancillary water entertainment, safe and clean, free wifi, friendly staff, 16 amps on the electricity.
Cons- on the expensive side, queueing for showers, no site buzz, tight pitches, occasional whiff from the toilet drains, car /van park during the day.
If you want to see Nantes - this is the site to park up safely and effectively.

We used this as a one night stop. The site was very nice and is set in a good location to explore Nantes, it would be a really good place to stay to explore the city. The facilities were very good and the toilets were clean. The electrics are done some in our blue plugs and some pitches have a French plug so I needed an adaptor. When staying at this site they will give you free passes to the brand new swimming pool complex which is across the road and is very good. The site is nice and quiet and was not full of brits.

If you just want an overnight stop close to the motorway then I wouldn't aim for this site - you have to drive in through suburbs and quite close in to the city centre. But the city is worth seeing and from the camp gates you can take the modern tramway without any worry of where to park - tickets from the camp office or from machines at the tram stop.
The site is clean but plain and functional - you wouldn't want to sit around there in a deckchair all day. The tent pitches and caravan pitches are in separate areas - the former on grass, the latter on hard packed sandy gravel. The whole place has been closed for refurbishment for several months and re-opens Spring 2011 so someone else can please write an up-date.
