Just a weekend away, found the site to be a bit steep for my unit, the only level space was being saved for someone else, who didn't turn up! I had my jockey wheel fully extended and the back of the van on the grass, so not too clever and couldn't use my awning with the van being three feet up in the air.
The facilities for water/waste etc were OK, if a little rustic.
We were pretty crammed in, ten units in a small field, with tents in the next field, my neighbour's car was under my window. Only having one toilet and one shower for nearly fifty campers (I counted them) left us all ducking and diving for opportunities to toilet and shower.
At £15 per night for basic facilities, not good value in my opinion
Location wise is fine, with some good walking and sightseeing opportunities.

A friendly welcome from John received on the 5 caravan site and we were able to choose where we wanted to pitch as the site was empty. The ground was soft for the pegs on the awning so no bent pegs at end of holiday. The caravan did need the levelling ramps due to a slight slope.
The toilet was in a 6 * 4 shed and the shower in 8 * 6 shed. For £15 a night I would not expect more and they were clean.
The shower unfortunately did not work on second morning but I did forget to mention initially to owners (emailed them later). The second day we were there we had around 6 - 8' of snow and the whole area suffered a power cut from 07:00 until 7:00 at night.
The owner checked on us three times during the day including checking if we wanted chips or any food fetching as her son was able to get out into the village plus delivering candles at the evening (we did have the 12volt lights hence we did not use candles).
The driveway was cleared of snow by the owners and they checked we were able to get off the grass when leaving. Good views over the peak district and of the tramway museum.
The site is fantastic value for money with a friendly couple looking after it who would have been willing to show the children around the farm. We did not accept the offer this time as they were busy running around after losing power for a day.
The only thing we found odd was we could not arrive until after 2:00pm which we thought was late.

Great find, peaceful, small, basic yet everything you need. Great location. Walking distance to crich tram museum (also great day out) and close enough to matlock, yet far enough to escape the crowds!
Shop in the village open till 8 and pub close enough for short walk.
1 hot shower and 1 toilet, toilet disposal and water, for £15.
Kids have loved the space for ball games.
If you hate the gravel pitches and crammed in spaces then this is the site for you. Slight slope fine with ramps but no probs with access onto site.
It's a working farm and fresh eggs available but no shop will be testing the eggs in the morning!
Will def be back, great find!

Weekend break here. Great for kids - large field for games and to run around. It's a working farm and we were able to have a tour of the animals, which the kids loved!
Lovely site with lovely views.
Facilities are fairly basic but clean, fine for a weekend.
Crich a short drive away for local shops and pubs etc.
Crich tramway museum is up on the hill overlooking the camp site (you can see the trams riding up and down the hillside)it's a great day out and would recommend it.
Very reasonable rates £15 EHU

Very nice site for kids, plenty of space to run around and visit farm. Nice clean loo and shower although could do with a few more. If you want to walk to a pub its a long walk but well worth it as you get a nice pint. Could do with a few more bins as bin was full as soon as we put our rubbish in and started blowing round in wind, but on the whole a nice site for a weekend away, even though the weather was not all that good we still enjoyed it

Very friendly and relaxed. Maybe a bit basic but for £15 a night with EHU, you can't go wrong. Nice walks surround the site and kids had plenty of room for football etc. Could probably do with getting rid of the portable ex MoD toilet unit and putting another shed type on the tent site. Some nice pubs in area, local villages have shops for basic requirements. Bigger towns easily reached by car in ten minutes. Will definitely be going back.

A brilliant basic campsite. It has all the essentials we needed for a week with the kids, the priority for us being plenty of space for the kids to play without disturbing others. Our kids are 9 months, 2 and 4, so up in the night, v early risers and not easy to keep quiet, but there was enough room for us to pitch up out the way and not disturb everybody else.
There were four other tents, and we were grouped towards one side of a huge open field area at the entrance to the farm. There is one access road, only used by the people accessing the site, so pretty safe for kids to stretch their legs.
The are two toilets, one in modified 6x4 shed (a simple yet genius idea!), the other a traditional outdoor loo. Both basic, but immaculate, and strangely creepy crawly free! The shower was also in a shed, again basic, but v clean, hot, and free. Facilities also include optional EHU, chemical toilet disposal, and drinking water.
We struggled to find the site (courtesy of multimap), but after ringing the owners, we were given directions to within a few miles and then met by them. Your nearest town with large supermarket and town facilities is Matlock, Crich is a couple of miles away with a chemist, costcutter, post office, pubs etc, however, don't try to eat out there on a Monday!
All in all a lovely traditional site, nice location, helpful owners and great price at £12 per night with no hidden costs.

The site was quite easy to find, the entrance a little tricky I would imagine for twin axle caravans. We drove through the large camping field first. The grass was shorter where the tents were pitched but quite long on the rest of the field. The grass in the field for the caravans wasn't much better, part of it appeared fairly level but levelling ramps were definitely needed for most of it.
In our view the facilities were woefully inadequate. There was one porta-loo in the camping field. In the caravan field, two fairly new looking wooden buildings - the size of large garden sheds housed one toilet and one shower. There was a separate outside toilet, without washbasin, beside the cottages.
Described as a 5-van site, at the time of our visit there were 4 touring caravans, one static and two family size tents. In the lower field there were 6 family size tents. We didn't use the facilities so can't comment on queues or cleanliness. For a 5 van site, without the tents, they would probably be adequate.
Although dogs were welcome there wasn't really a dog walking area specified. Given all that the owners were friendly and helpful. The site is well placed for the tram museum; you can see the trams on the hill overlooking the site. There are some nice walks nearby, we walked to the Regimental Memorial and the views are superb. There is a pub about 10-15 minutes walk away, but part of it along the road without a footpath - but the road wasn't terribly busy.

Only spent a couple nights here, £12pn, rough passage to enter site, poorly laid out although small site, waste water area set in the middle of this area, not nice really as not even fenced in. No play area for children. Toilet and separate shower, these small wooden garden sheds, but clean enough.
Cant say it was scenic it wasn't, disappointed really, could have been much better, I think 'untidy' is the word.
