This 5 van site is owned and run by two of the nicest, friendliest people we ever met. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Access to the site is very easy from the A628 road. The pitches are gravel on a very well kept grass field which is a mixture of level and sliight slope. The slope is easily corrected by a single chock and if you don't have one David keeps a good supply at the side of the shed.
There is only one toilet housed in a convenient out-building which also has a single wash-basin, although only one we never had to queue to use either. The outbuilding also has some items on sale to help the local children's hospice which are very cheap and mostly have been donated by customers of the site. The CDP and grey water drains are at the side of the outbuilding. The toilet, CDP and drain are kept beautifully clean. On arrival we first thought that the noise from the nearby main road would disturb us but after a short while we never noticed it.
If you like walking the site has its own woodland walk suitable for geriatrics like myself (or dog exercisers) and is connected to very many longer walks. If anyone had suggested that we should go to the Barnsley District for a holiday we would have laughed but this area is absolutely beautiful and full of attractive and interesting places to visit - nine days was nowhere near enough.
We have already planned at least a fortnight back at Woodland View next year. For shopping, in Penistone there is a Co-op and a new Tesco supermarket is opening very soon, that's only a couple of miles away. In Barnsley there are all the shops which any shopaholic could want but Sheffield with the gigantic Meadowhall Shopping Centre is less than 1/2 an hours drive away.
I thoroughly recommend this little site but please, don't too many of you go at once as we want there to be room for us on what we hope will be many more returns to Woodland View.
