Have just returned home after our first visit to this delightful Certificated Site.

We were welcomed by the helpful owner who maintains the site in good order. It is a basic site & essential to have your own sanitation (excellent disposal facility).

The field slopes but adequate wooden blocks are available to assist with levelling. Electrical hook up available & reliable. The views from the site are magnificent looking towards Lyme Bay & Golden Cap.

There is a small shop & Post Office approx. Half mile, also a Public House (serves food). Lyme Regis, Axminster & Seaton are a short drive away.

Very pleased to recommend this site & we hope to return very soon.

Recently returned from this site and am happy to say I would recommend it to anyone looking for a site with only basic amenities.

The owner is exceptionally helpful and has plenty of local knowledge. The site is exactly as portrayed in the description and has a great view out over Lyme Bay.

Local walk to Lyme Regis is medium hard but well worth it and you can get a number 31 bus (from the clock tower)back to the Hunters Lodge pub, an easy walk back to the site.

Best day for seaside and shops is Seaton only about 20 mins away by car. Nearest supermarket is Tesco in Axminster again about 15 to 20 mins away. Look forward to going again

Highly recommended

Just spent a fabulous week at Winters Farm camping site (the hottest Easter for years - how lucky were we?!)

Lovely site with 2 areas of hardstanding although we chose to park on the grass further down the field. The site is well maintained and the grass had been recently cut and was more like a garden lawn than a field which meant the children could run around with no shoes on - lovely.

The view was very pretty and the owners were extremely helpful and very friendly. If you park up by the treeline overlooking the valley you get brilliant morning sun.

Would recommend the walk to Lyme Regis via Uplyme on footpaths leading from the campsite, and if you don't fancy the walk back up the hill, a local bus will take you most of the way back. Alternatively you could just sit in the campsite all day, have a BBQ, play cricket and enjoy the view and the sunshine like we did.

It is quite sloping so you will need plenty of blocks of wood etc to level a caravan/campervan, but the owners helpfully provided a selection.

Will definitely return if we are back in this part of Devon.

To save repeating, I agree with snowmans comments fully. But would like to add some more.

Price was £9 for two adults with elec hook up. We had two small dogs with us. Which I'm glad to say they do not charge for.

Did not meet the owners, as they were on holiday. Instead we phoned on arrival and was met the next day by Phil who was friendly and explained the recycle procedures. Phil said we could use the large field in front of the site as a dog exercise area. We still kept the dogs on their leads though and picked up after them so other people could still enjoy using the field. If their not on the lead you cannot guarantee where they've been!

There was no one else on the site when we arrived and we took a bit to decide on what could be the best pitch. We decided not to go for one length ways one near the field fence where it is more level. Because if the two hardstanding against the tree fence are in use they would be looking straight at us. So we sited on the first hardstanding with great views across and down the valley to the sea beyond. {most motorhomes will not fit on these hardstandings,as I found out later. As they are only just wide enough for our caravan '7ft 6in', and have raised edges where they are cut into the the gentle slope of the grass. You still need chocks for the front, and the back winders were a bit tight against the bank.} two days later a motorhome came on and parked in front and nearly opposite but slightly lower, length ways against the field fence. Gone were the views of the sea! But I could understand a little, them not having to bother raising their wheels as much, as if they came on the tree side along side us. But the next day we came back from a day out to find our view blocked by another motorhome length ways on, right in front of us and about 10 feet from the back of the motorhome in front of them, even though there was room a bit further down the field or if he had backed up a bit near the water tap! Views gone. Lucky for us the one right in front left the next day.

I mention this, not to put you off, but because there is one electrical point against the field fence and some people may use this and block your view off if you are already parked on the tree side with your back against the tree line. If every one was positioned against the tree fence everyone would get a view, but you won't be able to guarantee that.

Hideaway site. Camping and Caravan members only. Quiet. No lights, so you will need a torch for those early nights.

We watched a buzzard circling overhead most days and the person in the motorhome had seen a deer down the valley. Grass was cut short and clippings collected, so none to carry underfoot into the van. No Childrens activities. A very nice tidy site which I would use again.

The only way too approach is from the A36, Red Lane is the straight route. Or from Axminster turn right straight after the Hunters Lodge pub at Raymonds Hill post office, down Harcombe road then just keep turning right, into Springfield road then Yawl Hill itself. Campsite is on the left about 20ft in front of a 90* right hand bend. Try not to go around this bend with your caravan on the back, it quickly gets narrow. There is room to get your car off the road while you open the gate, but not both. Local drivers seem well aware though and drive accordingly.

The site is quiet, but one local sometimes sounds his horn on the corner(why when horses use the lane as well?)

Local pubs,

0.8 of a mile away on the A36 at Raymonds Hill is the Hunters Lodge. Plenty of parking space and a good reputation for food.Probably why we could not eat there, as they had no tables free till after 9 o'clock when we called at 7 o'clock.

Next at just over 1 and a 1/2 mile away on the road to Lyme Regis is the Talbot Arms. Nice friendly staff, clean good selection of beers including guest cask. Sky 3d. They were serving a Sunday carvery while I was there which looked good and smelt delicious. If you have mobility problems it might be best to phone up and check as there was some step's up to the entrance I used and a flight of stairs down to the toilets. Though, there might be an other toilet and entrance I did not see.

Plenty of places to see and things to do whithin 30 mile radius. Lyme Regis and Harbour.

To the West is Charmouth, West Bay, Chesil Beach,Weymouth, Verne Citadel,Portland Bill.

To the East, Seaton, Beer, Branscombe beach, The Donkey sanctuary, Sidmouth.

Axeminster is only 3 mile away. There is a Tesco there for food and fuel. Or a Morrisons food and fuel about 10 mile away at Bothenhamton, on the B3157 just off the A35.

Less than a mile away is Raymond Hill Post office, off licence groceries and newspapers.

We had a really enjoyable long weekend at this site at the end of July 2010.

The site is secluded and has a slope from front to back and more gently from side to side of the pitched. It is very quiet surrounded bt trees and woods and with a view over the ridge of Lyme Bay.

It is only suitable for units with their own facilities. The elsan disposal point was clean. There were two drinking water supply taps for the site, and electrical hook ups for the 5 pitches.

The access roads are easy to miss off the main road, which I did and I should really have turned round and gone back. However I ploughed on and had a very interesting time manoeuvring a twin axle van through Lyme Regis !

I like small secluded sites and the price I pay for that, is often having an interesting time finding them !

By chance we arrived at the end of lifeboat fortnight, and watched a live band in one of the pubs on the front, and fireworks over the harbour. There is a lovely cheese shop (allegedly one of the top 10 in the UK), and a bakery which produced stunning bread, which converted into a Pizzaria in the evenings. I returned to Dinoland after many years and again was stunned by its display of fossils. All this was in Lyme Regis.

We also visited Beer along the coast which is a picturesque fishing village with boats pulled up onto the beach rather than in a harbour.

I would return to this site as we had such an enjoyable time
