We stayed for 6 nights, as we wanted to see the area. It is a large site which fills up quickly after about 4 pm, as it is close to the A6. It was very quiet and peaceful during the day. Some noise from the main road and the fire station opposite.
There was a lot of noise from adjacent nightclub one night ( a Thursday) but this appears to have been a one off as it was quiet at the weekend.
Pitches are large and fairly level. Toilet blocks large and cleaned daily, very modern.
The pool was nice, we had it to ourselves, no lifeguard present. A notice prohibits wearing shorts.
There is a small shop where you collect bread ordered from reception the day before. It sells essentials.
The adjoining restaurant is good, but got full due to world cup. (Big screen tv in bar) You can get a drink from the bar if you do not want to eat. Food was good and not too expensive. It has a nice terrace to eat on if weather permits, we felt they could do with extra waitresses, as the 2 there worked very hard.
There is a Buffalo Grill next to the site which is good but is a US style steakhouse. Good service and food though! We used it one night as the bar was too full and we do not like football!
There is a Lidl opposite and a massive Auchan a couple of minutes away-it has a fuel station.
It is about a 20 -30 minute stroll along the river too the town centre which has some old parts and a pleasant riverside promenade, with ample cafes and restaurants.
To get there you turn left out of the site along the side road, past the exhibition centre.
Cross the road by the roundabout into the park, then follow the footpath past the marina to the riverside
It is short drive from the site into the pleasant Bourgogne/Burgundy countryside with loads of pretty villages and wineries to isit. You can also follow the tourist Route desVins, which is a nice day out.
A good site for short or long stay, the staff are pleasant and speak english. We paid 21. 60 euros for oufit, 2 people and 6 A hookup.

Easy to find and only 10 minutes from the motorway making it an ideal stop over. We stayed two nights and visited the town too which was delightful. A lovely cycle along the riverside only taking 10 minutes.
Though a large site it had lots of shade and tree cover, was well set out offering pricacy and good sized pitches. Some pitches baked dry due to the hot summer and a challenge for our tent pegs but we were able to hunt around for one that suited us. Brand new toilet block, showers and washing up facilities which are excellent, cleaned daily and plenty of them.
Very good central play area for the kids and small swimming pool. Though BEWARE as speedos for boys and men only and a rather official man making sure all complied, even throwing out an older guy in swimming shorts.
Shop selling mostly booze, and bread and pain au chocolat etc in the morning. The campsite is opposite an Aldi and 5 minutes from a shopping complex so this isn't an issue.
Restaurant too on site which we visited offering Plat du Midi and Plat du Soir, plus a range of options. Prices mediocre and food of a good standard.
The staff were helpful and friendly. We didn't book and there didn't seem to be any need to given the size of the site and its high turn over of visitors passing through.
A very good site and good location if spending a few days or just passing through - worth a visit we would come back.

We are a party of 4 adults and stayed overnight here on our way to Annecy, and were pleased with the quality of the campsite. We were given the option of choosing our own pitch.
Very large campsite for a municipal, but no complaints at all. Pitches were plenty big enough for our needs, level and grassy. Clean, modern sanitaires. We had take-away pizzas which were very nice. Although we didn't use the restaurant, it did look busy. Shop on site was good, with lovely fresh bread in the morning.
Unfortunately we walked looking for a way down to the River Saone, which we were told was only 10 minutes, but could not find it after 30 mins of searching. (probably 10 mins in car?)
Would definitely stopover here again. Good value for money.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights during this year's Tour de France (Macon was the town for the first rest day).
The site doesn't accept reservations and with Le Tour being in town we were concerned that it would be full by the time we arrived. We needn't have worried as there was plenty of space and we even got to choose our own pitch.
We settled on a large square grassy pitch surrounded on three sides by hedges. Any pitches that were excessively muddy were roped off to allow them to dry out and recover.
On our side of the site were the older toilet blocks but they were still OK - clean and not too busy. On both nights we had takeaway pizza from the on site shop and it was very nice.
Macon itself is very nice, a normal sort of place - not full of tourist sites. We cycled there along the river and it didn't take very long.
Overall, we enjoyed our brief stay here and it is on our list of places we'd go back to sometime.

Reviewers - mature couple with campervan and bikes
An update on my review from last year.
We were pleased to see that one of the toilet blocks had been demolished and replaced with a smart new building. I think it can only just have opened as they were still putting finishing touches to it. It has a veranda round 3 sides, with a smart tiled floor. One side has washing up and laundry. The second side has a large room split down the middle into ladies and gents showers and basins. The dividing wall has a vanity area, mirrors, basin, hand dryer and hairdryer. The middle section of the dividing wall is just green plants with a seating bench, so you can see through to the other side, or just walk round the end of the wall. Why though did they install only 3 showers but 7 basin cubicles on each side?
The third side has separate toilets for ladies and gents, the ladies had 5 toilets plus a disabled and a childs. Outside the toilets is a raised flowerbed with bench seating all round, perfect for watching the gents urinals in full view through the glass door. And why did they put the wash basin near the door and the hand dryer on the wall as far from the door as is possible?
However, it is a great improvement to the old block, and there is enough room under the veranda to hold a dance!
This was a moderately priced site, but on this our first trip with the campervan, we were charged the 'forfeit' rate plus EHU, which when we checked included water disposal, so altogether added a hefty E7.50 to the E12 we paid last year.

Reviewers - mature couple with car, tent and bikes.
We have used this site many times, it's a great stopover just a few minutes from the A6 north of Lyon. It is a very popular site, and though quite large, does get filled up, so don't leave it too late to get there. The easiest way to access the site is from the northern junction of the motorway, if you use the south junction you have to go through the town.
The site has a mixture of pitches, mostly flat and grassy, some divided by hedges, some more open. There are lots of big trees for shade and the site is clean and well cared for.
The site is about 15 mins cycle from the town, which is worth a visit.
There are 2 or 3 toilet blocks, with separate facilities for men and women, though of the 4 toilets in the ladies, 1 is a squat, and 1 is a childs, so it can be busy. The washing up is outside under cover.
There is a shop on site, a supermarket across the road, plus shops in the town.
There is a restaurant on site, plus others nearby and in the town.
Macon is on a river, you can access the river from outside the campsite about 10 mins by bike, and there is an attractive marina and riverside paths.
There is a pool on site too.
The price is moderate.
