Great site ! as others have said, the place is very clean and the pitches are level. Nice rural setting. The people that run the place are very friendly and helpful.
I stayed there while there was noone else there so I can't comment on how it would be on a busy day.
I liked the dog policy. Too many campsites allow dogs to wander around and even if people 'pick up' after the dog then there's generally something left. With this campsites dog policy I felt safe to put my tent down on clean grass and not have to look around for any 'mines'.
Good shower block, toilets with wash basins in the toilet cubicle itself which I find a lot better.
If you like cycling/walking you may be interested in some of the routes nearby. You can get into Langport almost without using a road. Using the old disused railway. It's not the best surface but a nicer way to get into Langport however it's not easy to find the start of the cycle route. From the campsite it's the other side of the abbey. There are signs for it but can easily be missed. Maybe ask someone in the area.
Here's a link I found:

Was advised by person running campsite to check out a nice pub in Langport. Glad I did. So quirky!
The Rose & Crown Inn

Not sure I'll be in area again but if I am I'll definitely stay in this campsite again.

On arrival to the site we were greeted, shown to our pitch and then given a tour of the site by the gentleman that helps to maintain the site. His wife who runs the site came to see us later and make sure everything was ok and was also a visible presence each day on the site.
The toilets and showers were immaculately clean and had plenty of hot water. There was also a large covered in area with tables that can be used in bad weather to use a BBQ or just to gather in general. There is a large chest freezer for general use, which is ideal for ice blocks.
The surrounding area is excellent for walks down the River Parrett and I even managed to spot a Kingfisher. The town of Langport is 1and half miles away and has a medium size Tesco and other small shops.
Glastonbury is not far away and has some excellent gift shops, as well as the Abbey and the Tor. We also managed to visit Bath and Wells, both of which have many facilities, attractions and shops, the Roman bath house is a must to visit.

We stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The site is in a small village on the Somerset Levels and offers peace and tranquillity by the bucket load.
The site is very well presented and cared for and the owner lives in a mobile home on site. She was very friendly and helpful. In fact while we were there we met her whole family as they had a wedding locally and all the guests stay on the site.
The facilities are very good, with clean toilets and toilets within the partially converted barn. There are also two washing sinks in a covered area of the barn. There is also a large paved area of the barn which provides under cover seating, a large freezer for you ice packs and even a large barbecue you could use. We used the area to play Badminton in as it was sheltered on 3 sides and dry.
In a barn opposite the campsite there is a barn which has Little Owls in residence. At night they could be heard flying around the site, which was an amazing thing to hear and a massive highlight to our holiday.
Places to visit locally include Glastonbury, the outlet village at Street, Yeovil and the Fleet Area Arm museum.
If you like peace, quiet and relaxation, you can't do better than this site. However, it's probably not suitable for children who want things to do as there is no play area.
Personally I loved it there and will be back soon.

This is a great little site, in a rural location right opposite the ruined abbey in the hamlet of Muchelney. Both we and our friends missed the campsite entrance first time around (right on a bend and not well signposted from our direction).
There was plenty of space between the units and apple and other fruit trees and bushes planted between and around the pitches, which looked as if they were just becoming established. The site looked tidy and organised. We were put on the rally field where we had a choice of pitches.
A friendly lady let us pitch up and only came to collect the fees much later on when we were sorted out. There was also no pressure to leave the site on the day of departure - as it wasn't too busy we were told we could stay all day if we wanted to.
The shower block was new-looking and was kept absolutely immaculate at all times - though there was nowhere to dry hands (no towels or hand drier). One of the shower floors in the men's was quite steeply pitched - my other half felt slightly unstable in it.
There are some walks around the area - we saw two hares in the field beside the walkway into the Levels. The walkway starts just after the toll house and is only half a mile long so you have to turn back at the end, but it's a pleasant, level walk from the site.
Langport is only a couple of miles up the road and it has a river walk - and free parking, and some interesting little shops - and a visitor centre by the river which hires out bikes. There is a Tesco in Langport - I noticed one reviewer said it was small and another said it was large - it must be subjective ;-) but I'd say it was a medium-sized store (it's a Tesco Metro) which has pretty much everything you'd need.
Muchelney Abbey is NT, and from the churchyard next to it you can get an idea of the layout of the original abbey. The church itself has some painted panels on the ceilings and is quite intriguing inside with a glassed-in staircase and a sealed-off room.
Glastonbury is not far up the road, and the tor isn't quite as steep and inaccessible as it appears once you're on the path up.
The campsite being rural (on a farm), there were plenty of rabbits and birds of prey about, day and night. A fair size dog walk is provided on site. We needed torches as it is very dark at night - the campsite is unlit unless approaching the shower block area, when courtesy lights come on. The camping fields are set back from the road - we did hear occasional traffic but it wasn't loud.
This is very much a 'no frills' campsite but great value for money at £11. 50 per pitch per night in July (but we also added on for the EHU, which is 10 amps, and the charge for a dog per night is £1. 50).

We stayed on this site for two nights. We chose it for the location and it proved a good choice.
The shower/toilet block looked recently refurbished. The showers were very clean, roomy with plenty of hot water. However, a lack of heating might restrict use in cold weather! There were no mirrors over the washbasins and no hand-drying facilities which was a bit of a surprise.
All the pitches were level with a few on hardstanding. The grass ones looked to be firm and drainage is probably very good. Since we were the only ones on the site we chose one on hardstanding and near to the fresh/waste water points.
The site is in a very peaceful and quiet setting in the heart of the Somerset Levels and the welcome we received was excellent.
We love walking and looking round old buildings and this site is ideally located for both.
Across the road are the ruins of Muchelney Abbey and are well worth a visit as is the local church. There is an excellent walk along the River Parrett to Langport which is small but interesting to stroll around. We returned via Huish Episcopi were the ancient church is worth seeing.
There is a large Tesco store located in Langport.
We enjoyed our two days on this site and will certainly return.

Highly recommended for a relaxing break in a tranquil rural setting.
On arrival I was given a warm welcome by the site owners and a tour of the site and facilities. The pitches are level and spacious. The shower block is well appointed, kept clean and tidy and the water is always hot. There is a large undercover area, which can be used in wet weather.
From the campsite you can enjoy walks along the River Parrett or cycle along the quiet country lanes. The town of Langport is only 1.5 miles way.
I had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely pay another visit.

Warm welcome by a very enthusiast owner and his daughter. Very nice site with superb showers and toilets.
Nice pitches, some are very big.
The camp site is situated near a small village, in the direct neighbourhood of an old abbey and church.
On walking distance there is a river where it is possible to fish. Along the river there is a public footpath to the neighbouring village Langport.
Within a one hour drive by car, you can visit most of the wonderful day trips of Somerset.
We stayed here for more than a week, the rest of our holiday we didn't find a similar nice camp site.
If we are going to visit England again, we surely stay on this site again!

A gem of a site, set amongst the Somerset levels. The site is level and very well laid out, with excellent showers & toilets (always nice & clean) You can recycle everything. The owner is very friendly, and helpful (if you need help he will willing give it), as indeed on one stay I did. The site is within a short distance of most things you would need, ie, Tescos, garage & local shops, not least a chippy in Langport.
There is plenty of wildlife to be seen locally, and from the campsite, I have seen the local tawny owl with his friend, the little owl, also herons, buzzards, deer, and a lovely red fox whom appears to have grown well on the local rabbit population! Last but not least it is a quiet and peaceful site. Having been here many times I would fully recommend it anyone, be it couples or a family. PS The showers are always HOT!.

We(myself and two children aged 5 and 3) have just returned from our little trip away to Muchelney.
When we got to the site we were greeted by one of the site owners, who gave us a little tour of the site and facilities. We chose a pitch close to the toilets/shower block, which was enclosed on three sides by small hedges. From previous experiences on other sites it is usually the caravans that take preference on these pitches, so I was pleasantly surprised. The site was very quiet and set in the 'countryside'.
The facilities on site were very clean and tidy, with provision for recycling which is often forgotten about. There is also a large undercover area which we made use of when it rained to have our bbq.
I took the kids down to the local outdoor swimming pool a 2 minute drive away, which they enjoyed. I also made use of the quiet lanes and cycle route down to Langport along an old railway track (perfect for my little girl who has just learnt how to cycle herself). The amenities in the local town of Langport were good, a little supermarket, takeaways and cafes.

My family and myself have just Returned from Muchenley very relaxed and looking forward to our next trip!
The site is very clean and tidy, the showers and toilets are very clean and the water was always hot ! In my experience this is not always a given at most campsites!
The area itself was lovely lots of nice walks around the river parrett and the local village langport has all of the amenities needed a little tesco and a few takeaways etc.
The Chinese is pretty good and closes quite late as we realised!
We visited a fabulous butcher in the village on Saturday and had a BBQ back at the site. The pork and apple sausages were delicious.
We were on a pitch at the top of the site so that we could be as close to the dog walk area as possible which was tucked out of the way and very quiet.
The prices were very reasonable especially as we are in the peak season and it was nice not to be rushed off the camp site on Monday.
Will be visiting again this year and looking forward to another BBQ ;-)
