Great camp site. Very friendly people who make you feel welcome from the moment you first pull up at the site.
Perfectly situated site with good access to local facilities whilst retaining the feel of being away from it all in the country.
Excellent shower and toilet facilities, very modern and always very clean. Really dog friendly. Owners more than happy to tell us about the lovely walks from the campsite they even recommended the best dog friendly pubs in the village.
Very peaceful, beautiful setting. Will definitely be returning!

A very nice welcome again as this time is our 3rd time at this camp site, nice improvement of the toilet and shower block and it is nice to be able to wash up inside.
The wardens are always doing something but they always have time to speak. The lake had plenty of water in this year but was very low in july last year but bearing in mind it was a very dry year.
It is also nice to see the grass and hedges all cut nice and neat. The staff in the local shops and pubs are also very welcoming and nothing is to much trouble just like at the camp site.
So hopefully will be back to combe martin next year and to see the friendly staff at Newberry valley despite the long drive from Yorkshire.

We were greeted at Newberry Valley by a very friendly warden and taken to our lovely pitch to our delight was much bigger than we thought, allowing for plenty of privacy between you and the next pitch.
We found the site to be a wonderful tranquil haven and absolutely loved the lake and great location. It was great to be able to take our dog with us and he was made to feel just as welcome as we were!
The facilities were plentiful and spotlessly clean and all staff looked very professional in their matching uniforms.
It was also a great location, perfect to walk into the village or onto the beach even with children. Highly recommended.

I have stayed in many campsites but without a doubt, Newberry Valley is one of the best!
The new shower block is fantastic, and most importantly lovely and clean. It is great to have your own shower room with sink and toilet and plenty to go around too!
The site is nicely laid out so that you don't over look other campers to much and has a nice woodland walk and lake for an evening stroll.
The location is great too, with only a quick walk down a foot path to be on the beach and then straight into town for ice cream and a drink. Not a great deal for those looking for a hub of activities and shopping etc, but lovely and relaxing. Perfect for us.
I would definitely recommend to friends and Infact we have booked up to go back in a few weeks.

This campsite is in a good location close to the village, with pubs selling good food, friendly and helpful staff. Toilets and washing up area were clean and adequate with plenty of hot water. Very picturesque site with fishing lake.
Downsides, you can be a very long walk from the washing up area and toilet block, absolutely no lighting at night which can make walking on a potholed puddled road interesting. We are slightly surprised that the most expensive pitches are furthest away from the facilities.
Worst point is that the ground is not well drained and after heavy rain becomes waterlogged and extremely soft and muddy.
In conclusion, a nice site, a little expensive, would hugely benefit from a second toilet block, would probably use it again.

Nice campsite with pleasant owners located in a sheltered side valley off Combe Martin. The pitches / toilet block / showers / laundry etc. Were all clean and well maintained. I'd be happy to recommend it to any friends visiting the area.
Combe Martin beach and associated pubs, cafes, shops etc are only 5 mins walk away and Ilfracombe is a 12 min drive (worth a visit). The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the 'Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park', which is expensive (£40 for a family ticket) for what it is.

Our very first expedition into the wonderful world of camping! As newbies we were expecting problems.
However, everything went surprisingly well, the campsite is gloriously situated, around about 400 yards from the reception block to the beach. We were situated about half way from the reception & shop to the shower block, it seemed ideal for us.
As has been mentioned in other comments, the staff were very friendly and helpful. As it is our first campsite we have no measuring stick as yet to judge, but I thought everything was fairly reasonable. The wider situation within North Devon was just awesome and the walks, rides and car journeys are fantastic.
The weather deteriorated on the Thursday afternoon and blew a gale loads of rain, the tent survived and the pitch seemed to absorb the rainfall very well. The forecast was for more poor weather, so we left a day early, though this was no reflection on the site itself or our overall enjoyment of the holiday.
In conclusion, I thoroughly recommend this site. It will be interesting to compare others, but I am sure we will return here again.

Have just returned home from this site, great site very clean,toilets/shower block.Weather was not great while we were there, strong winds and rain!Any rubbish that had appeared(due to wind) was quickly cleaned up by the wardens.
Shop was well stocked with bread/milk and great local bacon.
Only a short walk to the beach, just have to be careful of the traffic near site entrance as there is no pavement.
My only downside to the site is the fishing lake, the water is very low,and at the far end of the lake there is no water at all! The weed is a problem which means that there is only about 6 places to fish, it would be good if the site owners could get some professional help to sort the lake out, fishing very hard only caught small fish,no big fish that I was told about when I paid for my permit.

Stayed at this this beautiful campsite three years ago & was not disappointed on our second visit this year. Lovely green surroundings filled with birds, butterflies & even bats in the evening. Just a few minutes walk from Combe Martin town & there is no need to walk on the road if you take the public path which is right opposite the entrance to the site. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The shop doesn't have a huge variety, but is enough & has really good local farm produce for your breakfast - you can even order freshly baked bread for the next morning. Would definitely recommend this campsite & will be going back again next year.

A great site. From the moment we were escorted to our pitch I knew this was a special site.
We booked a premier pitch which was very large, flat and well drained.
Toilets were all-ways clean and showers hot.
Site is on layers so there was next to no wind which is always a bonus when tenting.
Location was excellent - a straight walk out of the gate takes you down to a stony beach or a small walk along the sea front to the shops and sandy beach (i deal for kids and handy for camper-vans).
Unbelievably some people were complaining about the noise the sheep made in the morning as if it was the sites fault!. Yes there are sheep and if you listen you can hear beeeert. This is the country side!
The only other complaint I hear was from a few people commenting about the constant mowing of the grass. I think I should point out here that this is a 4 star site and as such the grass has to be kept short to maintain a 4 star appearance.
When someone leaves the grass is cut for the next customer and despite what people think I never heard any mowing before 10:00 anyway.
Personally I would rather have grass that's cut short so its dry for when I pitch.
I enjoyed my stay so much that I asked if I could stay on another 5 days, the Very helpful staff managed to fit me into there spare 2 pitches and after a small move which the warden offered to help I stayed on, I must stress I have never stayed on a site longer than booked before.
The fishing on the pond is probably my biggest issue. The pond is very weedy and in need of some T.L.C. However there are some excellent fish in there including some large carp which during my stay and after spending every morning from 05:30 until 09:00 I was luck enough to meet a lovely 17lb mirror.
A special thanks to Tony who despite not being into fishing took the time out to rake loads of weed out so we had some more water to fish in.
Conclusion:- if you want a site close to the beach and town in a nice quite surrounding with excellent staff then this is the place for you. If you want a pub, pool and noise on a site then keep on driving past.
