Fantastic Site, it is very hard to add to what has already been said about this site, it really is as wonderful as the reviews say it is. A very clean and cared for secure site.
The owners are so very nice and helpful, as soon as we realised our EHU lead would not reach, an extension was lent to us with no charge or deposit required.
The showers and the toilets are the cleanest I have ever seen on a camp site, the piped music is a really nice touch. There are ample hooks for you towel and clothes and even a shelf to put your shampoo etc. on.
The pot wash area is spotless and there is a laundry room you can use.
The site is very close to York and the transport links, either from a bus outside the site or from the park and ride at the outlet park are excellent. We were even allowed to take our small dog on the bus.
We have already booked for our next visit and we just wish we had found this site earlier in the year.

What a lovely site spent 4 wonderful days with our 2 children.
Toilets and showers were clean night and day and the owner's are always on hand to give out information on anything you need to know.
We have to say that the owners go that extra mile after forgetting needle and cotton to repair our inner tent the owner promptly opened the shop and returned with a packet of needles and cotton A Big Thank You to them both.
We spent two days in York doing the sights we found it best to use the local Park and ride detail in reception.
Pickering train is well worth a visit but get there early can be hard to find a parking space if you leave it to late, you will find that you need a full day we caught the 9 o'clock train and stopped off at all the stations we then caught the last train home from Whitby at 6pm worth the money

We went to naburn lock for bank holiday weekend with our tent. The site is very good. Toilets were spotless all weekend, hairdryer points available and plenty of loo roll.
The reception has a shop which was great for bread and milk each day, owners very nice, camping field ok not the flattest field but was ok. Definitely will return here.

A nice site with friendly and helpful owners. We stayed on a hardstanding pitch in the adult only section, there was plenty of hook-up and water points. Unfortunately, that weekend was rather wet and some people found their tents and awnings standing in water as parts of the site are prone to flooding.
There was plenty of showers and toilets which were kept clean and tidy. Showers cubicles were fairly basic, but the water was hot and plentiful. There is a well stocked shop on site too, which we found useful. There is nothing worse than having to ride around looking for a supermarket for that one item that you have forgotten to pack. Lots to see and do in York, too much to mention.

Our visit to Naburn lock was our first but will certainly not be our last. On arrival we were greeted by Peter & Catherine Wilkinson who made us feel very welcome.
The pitches are spacious and are grass or hard standing. Toilets and showers were spotless. The shop was well stocked, the grounds are also clean and tidy with facilities to re cycle waste. The dog walks are great.
You can also either catch the bus into York or as we did catch the river boat. We saved on parking and had no need to drive at all. This is a tip top site, a real little gem.

Excellent site. Owners were friendly and helpful. Very clean excellent location for York and surrounding countryside.
The tent field was massive with huge amounts of space so no need to pitch too close to neighbours.
Coming back from a busy day and walking to the lock and small waterfall was fantastic. The water was close enough to enjoy but far enough away not to worry about small children.
Everyone we met on site was really friendly. The park and ride at the discount shopping centre was fantastic in terms of value and service. We never waited for more than 5 mins.
The only thing preventing us returning is the 200 mile drive from Colchester.

What a lovely site, very friendly site owners. We were in the adult only section which was very peaceful, had a walk around everyone looked well spaced out with plenty of room to sit out. The shop on site is well stocked. Toilets were well looked after with music playing. We enjoyed the river cruise into york with the dog. The black bull pub is just under 15 minutes walk, we had lovely meals here, on a sunday night they do a steak night fantastic. Can see why people return here.

Great site, really helpful and friendly. Plenty of room between pitches, lots of room for the kids to play. The shower/toilet block kept nice and clean and the onsite shop was brill! We walked down to the lock and followed the river most days which was quite beautiful. Would definitely return.

We were made very welcome. The site is excellent and very well managed. Facilities are beautifully clean and plenty of hot water in the showers.
We met many people who are regular visitors to Naburn Lock and that in itself says many things, we will be back next year.
York is only a few minutes away by various methods of transport, but as we have a dog, the car was the only option, parking in york is not cheap, but this is not the fault of the site.
We had a lovely stay and good luck to the site for the various awards it hopes to add to its c.V.!

I stayed here over a weekend. The site is quite pretty with the owners entering the York in Bloom competition. It is also very close to the river Ouse, with its river boat into York. I didn't try the boat as I had dogs, but was told by a fellow camper that dogs are allowed on the boat, but I can't confirm this. You are given details of the sailing times and also timetable for the local bus, which stops outside the site.
The toilet and shower blocks are kept clean, although I would have liked a little more space in the shower cubical. The shop looked well stocked, and the sausages bought from the shop were very nice - apparently produced locally. I didn't spot any specific play areas for kids, but there were a number on bikes in one of the mown fields. There was also a field to exercise the dogs in.
The only niggle I have (and it is small) was the distance from our field to the toilet / shower / washing up block. It was a bit of a trek, not good in the rain!
There is a dead quiet policy from 11 pm to 7 am, which is enforced. In fact there wasn't much noise during the day either.
All in all I would be happy to visit this site again
