Just got back from this site, huge place, very well kitted out with just about everything you could wish for in a campsite including an on-site shop that sells daily groceries and a few other bits 'n' pieces including gas cylinder re-fills and even push-bike hire. If you're looking for some place quite and off the beaten track then this is it. Washing facilities are modern and kept very clean although I thought the gents were a little smelly. Showers are nice and hot, free and un-timed, there's plenty of water pressure most of the time as well. The playground is a little basic compared to other smaller sites we've been to but still serves well as somewhere for the little ones to busy themselves and meet others. There's also a free mini-bus ride to a nearby pub twice in the evening at 7pm and 9pm which takes you back to site at 9pm and 11pm. All in all we thought this was an excellent site with very friendly and helpful staff spoiled only by the awful weather!

I wish I could enthuse about the site as much as everyone else. The showers, toilets and washing facilities were new and very clean, but at times seemed inadequate for the number of guests. The on site shop seemed woefully inadequate and poorly stocked (no bread most of the week!), and the opening times (0900hrs-1800hrs) not very convenient compared to other sites I have been too. Showers are free, but refreezing Ice-packs is 50p a time regardless of quantity. They run a 'bus' service to the local pub which probably accounts for the early shop closing times. Morning papers are cover price + 10p to order. There seemed to be a Cesspool in the middle of the site (behind the pond from the entrance) with odour coming from it during the heat of the day. DON'T PITCH NEAR IT. The Fishing has attracted Rats to the area - but then it is country living and they did not come in the tent. The Owners are very cheerful and welcoming. East Anglia is a treat at the best of times and North Norfolk doubly so. I would not go out of my way to go to this site again, but then again neither would I avoid it.

This was our third visit and are pleased to say that the facilities are still excellent. The pitches are large even for our 8 berth tent, gazebo, car and trailer. As always we received a warm welcome from the owners David and Heather. They lent us an extension as our hook up lead wasn't long enough. The toilets and shower blocks are regularly cleaned, the showers hot and free. A useful shop stocking essentials, the children liked the pick and mix sweets. We find this an ideal site as there is plenty to do a short drive away. The children spend hours on the park. We enjoy the woodland walks and wildlife. We have recommended this site to many people who have all visited and enjoyed it too. Not long now till we return as we have booked the site for ourselves and friends for the end of august.

All the other positive reviews are spot on. What a clean and well run site this is. Even the on site shop was reasonably priced. Children aged 4 and 2 loved the play area. Well placed in North Norfolk for many great activities. Fantastic first trip with the kids!

Lovely quiet family site (apart from the girls in the tent opposite who felt the need to have a screaming competition when everyone else was trying to sleep!). New toilet block near reception was lovely and clean but the other needs an update. Both blocks would benefit brighter lighting and a few more showers adding - only 2 in each block so we had to queue most times. Washing up area was brilliant with loads of hot water and kept very clean. Children loved the fishing lake and the pitches were spacious and well kept. Shop selling essentials and also loan of a TV aerial with a return deposit. No pub on site which is good as that would spoil it. Great play area for children with sandpit and room for more swings etc. To be added. Places to visit Great Yarmouth, Cromer, Sheringham. Karting track just up the road well worth a visit! Swimming pool nearby. Great family site worth a visit.

After a 4 hour jouney, the warm welcome was very much appreciated. We were taken to our pitch, and given all the useful info - like where the loos were! We have quite a large tent, and were concerned about how much room we would have, but there was absolutely no need to worry! The pitch easily accommodated our tent, plus gazeebo, plus car, plus trailer! And we still had plenty of room. The site is beautifully set with trees surrounding it. Our pitch was in the top corner, but we could still see our boys playing on the play area which was great. The play area isn't huge, so if a lot of kiddies go at the same time it does get a little busy, but our boys entertained themselves with their new friends they had made and thanks to the spacious nature of the pitches, were able to play badminton/football etc. The toilet blocks were very well looked after. 2 showers per block doesn't sound like it would be enough, but I only had to queue for a shower once. The showers themselves were really nice. None of the push-button lark we've been used to! An actual shower that stays on without having to repeatedly turn around! Plenty of room in them, and lovely and warm. We didn't use the courtesy mini bus to the pub, but only because we were usually too shattered to go anywhere! There was so much to do in the surrounding area! Cromer is a very quaint town, and our boys were facinated by the crab fishing. We also visited the RNLI museum (free) and the Cromer Museum (£7.60 family 4) and both were really interesting - even for our boys! One of my favourite days was when we went for a bike ride. We only cycled a couple of miles out of the site, but it was beautiful. The fact that we saw some deer was a bonus to how picturesque it was. I would recommend Deers Glade to any family who want a safe, quiet retreat after a long day entertaining the little ones! We loved it and will be booking again for next year without a doubt.

Just arrived back from a lovely 2 day break at this site. As soon as you arrive you are shown personally to your pitch,by the most friendly helpful staff you could wish for. They even offered to cut the grass for us before we pitched. The pitches are a decent size and have tv hook up points etc. It looks like the owners have planted young trees around each pitch so in a couple of years they will all be totally private. The shower/ toilet block is the cleanest I have ever seen. The whole site has a real homely feel to it. Reading someone elses comment regarding the internet it was free for me, don't know if I was mean't to pay for it, so maybe worth checking. I was amazed at how many people I saw walking around with a laptop in their hand. Surely this is a massive plus point for every campsite. The only thing you should be aware of is that the gates are locked between 11pm and 7am, so if your a late nighter this maybe a problem.

Just returned from our third visit to this wonderful site. I have to say that I think it's the best site I have ever stayed on. the best, cleanest, hottest showers you could wish for, combined with the friendliest owners and staff anywhere. We were really lucky with the weather, only one shower all weekend! Will be back for sure.

Just arrived home after our first visit to Deers Glade. We were greeted by helpful staff and shown our pitch down by the lake. There was plenty of room for the caravan, awning and 4x4. There was a good mixture of tents, caravans and mobile homes. The shower/toilet blocks were first class, very modern and spotless. We are not fishermen but enjoyed the strool arround the lake which looked well stocked with some big fish. The local woods were a great place to wander. We tried to walk to the local pub where we enjoyed a nice meal and the entertainment was pleasent too. We would suggest packing a pair of wellies as it was very wet and muddy! It was only a short weekend break but will be returning very soon.

I can only echo the comments of all previous reviewers. This site is well worth the trip; lovely, peaceful and well-maintained. The kids even managed to catch some fish in the lake but none exceeded 4 inches in length! The only downside for us was the filthy foggy weather which persisted for the 3 days of our stay. If the site had been less pleasant, we may have headed for home.
