May 2003 We picked this campsite from this website after reading the reviews. It was excellent. It was the cleanest capsite we've been to. The toilets and showers were immaculate. We were camping and where in the campfield at the back, which suited us fine. Plenty of room for your pitch and more than ample room for the kids to play football etc. And we were there May bank holiday and school half term. The dog walk area is a good idea that we haven't come accross before. The small shop sells a good selection of things from buckets & spades to bacon and eggs etc.Staff all very freindly and helpful. They will re-freeze your ice blocks for 20p each. If you want more supplies, there is a Morrisons supermarket approx. 10mins away in the car. The only downside is the distance to the beach, it says 15mins walk it would have to be a pretty fast walk to make it in that, especially with kids and beach stuff. We took the car, there is a car park at the cliff tops. Turn left out of the camp, follow road until traffic lights and then turn right. Carpark is approx 200m on your left adjacent to the surf shop. It costs £2.00 per day, we thought it was worth it to save the walk as the cliff path down to the beach is steep and enough for young children. Ideal base for Scarborough,Whitby and not far from Flamingo Land either. We will definatley be back.

August 2001 & 2002 This is a friendly site with good facilities. The only warning I would give is that at peak times - particularly August bank holidays it does become absolutely full. This puts a strain on the camping resources so you have to be fairly flexible and advance booking is advisable.

June 2003 Everything has really been said about this site, it really is nice. We were on the main site, which is divided into small pitching areas for caravans and tents, which makes it a bit more secluded. The wardens were great, showing us to our pitch and helping us get in the right position (i'm not too good at reversing!).The dogs loved the big dog field and the swimming in the sea! Definately will be going back!

May 2003 Wonderful quiet friendly site, heated toilet blocks, and I had no complaints about the water temp over Whit weekend. Wardens are very helpful and do insist on site rules being followed.

may 2003 we thought this site was peaceful and clean.the staff were very helpful and friendly.we stayed on the large camping field which gave the children plenty of room to run around.if you stay on the field and need electric hook up take a very long lead, having said that the staff did offer the people around us extension leads if thiers could not reach,i said they were helpful.the toilets and showers were spotless, although there was a few complaints about the warmth of the water, but i put that down to being a bank holiday weekend and the sheer number of people using them.the shop was well stocked and open reasonable times.parents of smaller children note that the play park is suited more for older ones i:e 8 or 9 plus.on the whole a very well run site

sept 2002 We have visited this site on several occations and like it very much, it is very clean, the wardens look after the site well and are very helpful and friendly. The dog walking area is excellent and it is a lovely walk along a safe footpath to the wonderful bay. We shall be visiting again this year and look forward to it very much.

I have stayed at this campsite twice and it is really good. The campsite is a field with no individually marked pitches and also up a slight slope which proved difficult on one occasion when it got a bit muddy.
The toilet facilities are excellent with free showers and individual cubicles and family rooms. Dishwashing facilities too. There is a shop which seemed to be open quite long hours and which stocked basic provisions.
To go to the pub you have to walk to one end of the campsite and go through a gate into the village. At night they lock the gate so you have to climb over it to get "home". It was really quite funny after closing time because there were loads of people climbing over the gate.
They don't mind barbecues, they have a dog walk and they accept rallies on the camping field (huge). They also don't mind motorbikes so this is a cool site I will definitely visit again!
