Just returned from a 5 night break at rivendale in our trusty campervan.
It got very busy at the w/k end and with only one shower block and two washing-up sinks things soon got extremly cramped.(the hot water ran out by mid morning too)
Good location to explore the peak district although a little isolated, nearest pub 40mins walk away(not all day opening)
Reasonable size pitches well laid out but a bit bumpy and uneven
A reliable but infrequent bus service close by.
Friendly and helpful staff

A very clean and well maintained site, within easy reach of some beautiful countryside. A very clean shower and toilet block. This site comes with great recommendation from my boyfriend and i. We will be returning for another stay in the near future, well done Rivendale.

First time we have stayed at this site, it was excellent. The loos and showers were kept very clean the site was clean and tidy and was quiet although it was full. The paddock for walking your dag was lovely, the scenery and surroundings were stunning, the tissington trail was excellent for walking and cycling and very safe for dogs and children. The only fault we found was we had to wait over an hour for our meal in the bar and when it came it wasn't up to scratch. We are definately going there again but we shall try the Bluebell Inn.

Lovely quiet site, very well laid out.
The toilets spotless and the showers the best we have used, plenty of room and a good shower with masses of hot water.

The site has very clean amenities, however the warden was very unhelpful, and in my opinion was lacking basic training in customer services. Sadly would not use the site again due to this.

Lovely site in the middle of the Derbyshire Dales. You are located near a large number of attractions (including Alton Towers) and the Derbyshire Dales for all you incurable hikers. Located in an old quarry you are surrounded on three sides by fantasic cliffs. Fairly new site with hard standing for caravans and very nice level pitches for tents which have just enough camber to allow rainwater to drain.

Tiolets and showers are free. You pay a £5 refundable deposit for a key to the showers/toilets, which are kept in spanking condition. There is also a laundary and washing up facilities.

Small site shop has all the basics you would need and you are not far from Buxton for bigger shopping needs. Cafe and bar on site have basic meals all day till 9.00pm. They allow kids into part of the bar.

3 miles down the road towards Ashbourne is the Blue Bell Inn which does fantasic meals at reasonable prices (I recommend the Steak and Ale Pie!)

With a name like Rivendale what do you expect but all the sites are named after places in Lord of the Rings and the bar is called The Prancing Pony!

A throughly nice site I will be visiting again and I would heartily recommend.

Impressive friendly site set in an old quarry. Good facilities including cafe, shop and bar (separated from the camping area so noise is not a problem). Good clean toilet / shower block (free showers). There's also a play area in the middle of the site for the kids.

Situated just over the road from the Tissington Trail (cycle / walking trail), and 6 miles from Ashbourne.

Caters for tents, caravans, trailer tents and motorhomes.

Very clean site with friendly service. The site has a rugged beauty. Being carved out of a hill side it provides good shelter from the Derbyshire weather
