A delightful site, flat open field situated well off the road so quiet and peaceful. Shops in walking distance.
Toilets though a bit dated were very clean & well kept.
Owners extremely helpful. Very good value and camping at its best.

This is a proper little gem of a campsite!
Quiet, cheap, loads of space and well placed for the coast (few miles to Aldeburgh).
Facilities are ok too, no shop on site but only a few minutes walk into Leiston.
One of the best campsites we've been to; if you want just a quiet fuss-free site to stay at then I would recommend here.

Superb site, very peaceful and quiet, lovely, helpful owner. Nice showers and toilets, only 4 units on the field when we visited and so very quiet, the way we like it. Close to Aldeburgh and Southwold. Payment made when you leave the site. We will definitely be returning.

It takes a lot to impress me, but Applefields certainly did that. The facilities were spotlessly clean, even over the bank holiday weekend, when it was properly busy! And never a wait for a shower or the loo.
It was value for money (cheap sounds naff, but it was cheap, when we went £15pn for a family of 4 with a marquee of a tent AND electric hook up).
It was convenient for the coast and central for both up to Aldeburgh and Southwold and down to Woodbridge.
The owners have left a bit of the site wild for the kids to make dens, mud ramps for their bikes and general kid fun!
The site is flat, very well drained and easily accessible for all types of accommodation, a truck sized unit was on site when we were there, it was huge!
And if you aren't keen on kids, the site it big enough to get away from them ;-)
We are not a family to return to a campsite more than once (too much to see in the UK for us!) but we are returning in 2018 (booking just sent!)

A great find, well placed for Southwold (adders on Westleton Heath) and Aldeburgh (avoid on Sunday, chip queue too long!). Plenty of spotless facilities, kitchen, a cosy sitting room and very reasonably priced.
We had our bicycles, but the Crown on Sizewell Road serves the best Greene King IPA anywhere so we could have stayed there all day. Especially as there are two curry houses.
Great view of the Sizewell B dome from the High Street end of Valley Road.

Perfect site for us as lightweight campers travelling by bikes with small'ish tent etc carried in bike trailer. Quiet. Good clean facilities. Extremely reasonable rates. Nice to have on site picnic tables & communal fridge & freezer to store perishables as it was very hot.
10 minute walk into Leiston for local shops, cinema & bus services.

This was our 3rd or 4th visit to this lovely site and we appreciate it more each time we visit. It is so relaxing and quiet here with fantastic facilities, We love Leiston town and the regular buses that pass through there either to Aldeburgh or if you want to travel further afield to Ipswich. We walked across a very clear footpath to Leiston Abbey which we found very interesting and could not believe it was free ! All in all we had a great few days and have no doubts at all that we will return Thankyou very much to all who have made the site such a great place to stay

Just back from 10 days at this lovely site, £15. 00 p. N with hook up £12. 00 without, very good value for the money. There are 3 large shower/toilet rooms, 1 individual shower room, 1 shower/ toilet room for disabled and 1 gents and 1 ladies individual toilet so plenty of facilities, all kept very clean. The `Long Shop Museum` in Leiston is well worth a visit, Had lovely fish and chips at the traditional chippy just round the corner from the museum. Go back there again OH YES.

We stayed in this campsite for a short recce trip to Suffolk. We were looking for a base for our 2 week summer holiday, and decided to look no further than this beautiful and informal site. The facilities were excellent, large clean showers, kitchen with kettle, microwave, fridge, freezer and washing machine. Excellent value for money. Short walk to town and close to numerous beautiful beaches. Good mobile signal on EE.
Have already booked to return.
