We visited Larkhill for the first time last week and were over the moon with our choice of site.
The camp site is perfect for family's, we had 2 little lads (5 & 6) and they spent the whole time in the tree house. We pitched in the shade of the trees next to the tree house to keep an eye on the kids. (to be honest you can see the whole site from any pitch) They have a little wooden shack that has a pool table, dart board and football table. There is also table tennis and a basketball net outside.
When we arrived there we approximately 20 other campers (tents and caravans)everyone was camped around the outside of the camping field which left a lovely space in the middle to get a football match going with some of the other campers.
The owners of the site were very personable and chatty. The lads that live at the site came and joined in playing football with the kids and made us all feel really welcome during our stay.
Facilities are pretty basic, 2 toilets and 1 shower but they are kept nice and clean and we didn't have to queue. Ground was nice and soft so wire pegs were fine for the tent.
The nearest shop is a fair walk away but only 5 mins or so in a car. Site is pretty dark at night torch is a must if you need to go the toilets (very short walk though). Lovely and quiet at night the perfect place for a relaxing short break.

Brilliant campsite, not overly big, quiet campsite, and peaceful. Owners friendly, has porta loos one with shower in but very clean and presentable.
Has a wooden building on the site with pool table, dart board and football table. There is also a treehouse that has been made for kids with a rope tire swing.
We have two boys 3 and 6 and they loved playing there, and it was good because you could see them from where the tent was and they had freedom to play.
Only £10 for non electric pitch, and very pleasant stay. Would only recommend for short stays as no washing up facility as such.

Our first time camping as a family and wanted to try it out local to home (Coventry). The site was clean, fresh, well kept grounds. Lots of people made this their base for exploring Warwickshire.
The site has a rickety tree house which, our children loved, it looked a bit well worn through years of use but this didn't deter our little explorers. The site also has a little games room, where snooker table could be found. Other games seemed to have missing parts! A swing made from an old tyre was also available but set to near the tree house and constant banging from use did get some what annoying after a while.
The site is set back from a very busy main road.
The site is well cared for.
Toilet facilities are basic but clean and suited our needs. No washing up areas for dish washing and no hot water except in the toilet block
Would definitely go back - close to home however we felt a million miles away.
Would recommend for families with children. Very reasonable prices too.

We enjoyed a super week at Larkhill. The field is flat and set well back from the road affording a quiet campsite with a friendly family atmosphere. There was plenty of space in the middle of the field for ball games too.
Request a grass pitch when you book as the hardstanding area is next to the toilets and feels more like a car park before reaching the lovely main field.
We were allowed to pitch communally with our friends which was appreciated.
The play equipment was basic - a tree house (in need of some attention) and a small swing set for younger children. Our children appreciated the free games room on the rainy day and it was a great meeting place for them to make new friends.
The temporary toilet block is generally clean and adequate, with a good hot shower. However, it could benefit from hot water available for campers to wash with in the basins. The site owner told us the block would be replaced with a proper facility in the near future.
I was impressed with the action taken by the owners regarding some unsociable campers who had kept people awake until 3am and had made a mess in the toilets due to being very drunk; they were asked to leave immediately the following morning; the owner came around to the other campers to apologise and cleaned the toilets as quickly as possible.
The area had plenty to do - a cycle ride along 100yds main road and then bridleway to Ryton pools Country park (flat and easy for our 8 and 10 year olds). The free Coventry Transport museum was a great day out, and Warwick castle was a super way to spend Tesco vouchers. We also visited all the Shakespeare properties in Stratford and still had plenty more to do - we will return to the area very soon.
I would recommend this campsite for being friendly, flat, quiet and a good atmosphere. I look forwad to seeing the improvements the owners are planning for this new site.
