This is my first camping trip in nearly ten years and this site made it awesome

I just did the one night in my "campervan" (my Citroen Berlingo car with an IKEA mattress in the back and the cheapest driveway awning on Amazon) just me and my dog.

I suppose I'll start with the location. It's about 10 mins from J38 of the M1 and is surrounded by countryside. Very easy to get to, the owners have placed very clear signs up on the approach.

I saw someone rock up with a huge twin axle caravan while I was there and they had no trouble getting in.

Site overall: Spotless, big open field that was like a bowling green. Perfectly level pitches with plenty of space between them. I was on pitch 6 which is between two trees (I picked this myself using their excellent online booking).

It was £20 for the night with electric and water on the pitch (tap shared between pitches 5 and 6).

Access to the pitches is via a barrier and you're given a little fob thing to wave at the access pad to get in. There was no deposit to pay but if you lose it (or don't return it), it's a £20 fee.

Staff: Excellent. The chap I was speaking to couldn't do enough for me and was there if I needed him.

Facilities: I only used the toilets, which were spotless and the bins, which were near reception and had recycling available. I was told on arrival that the showers were 50p for a token available from reception.

There were also eggs for sale for about £3 a dozen and a library of books to read during your stay. I think there was also ice-cream for sale but I didn't partake.

Dog friendliness: Spot on. I was advised that there was a zero tolerance on letting your dog run free on the site, as some chickens had met a sticky end in the past. Can't argue with that.

Especially as there's a public bridleway literally at the gate to the site (with a poo bin) where you can walk for a few miles and go round the resovoir.

This worked out well for me and my dog and I just kept him on a longline attached to my car/chair/etc. While we were on-site, which was fine for us both.

Dogs aren't allowed in the toilet block, so if you're a solo traveller, you'll need to secure them in the car while you "go".

So that's my review of this site. I had a lovely, if cold, time and I'll definitely be back.

In case you're wondering, my dog enjoyed his first ever camp as well.

A pleasant quiet rural Pennine site on a grass field. Pitches all with power and water. Satisfactory facilities. Helpful staff. Good website for booking.

Good walking direct from site straight on to the Transpennine trail. Good location for visiting small towns and attractions in the area such as Holmfirth, Penistone, Cannon Hall, Wentworth castle, Sculpture Park, north eastern part of Peak District etc etc!

Plenty of pubs and takeaways in the area for food but would involve a short drive.

New pub hopefully being built from what we could see which will be a 10 minute walk in the future!

 Lovely site.

Large flat, well kept field - plenty of space between the caravans.

There were plenty of large family groups and children playing but the site was still incredibly quiet.

Toilet block was clean and spacious, recycling point - well organised.

The welcome and information on arrival was great.

Would definitely stay again and for longer when the showers are open.

I have stayed at Ingfield Farm twice, on each occasion it was when COVID restrictions were in place so the facilities were not fully open, in 2020 the toilets and showers were closed, this time it was just the showers that were closed so I am able to say that the toilets were clean.

Friendly and helpful staff on arrival. Good value for money.

A lovely clean site and I shall be returning next year

We loved our time on site been before but this time brought our son and grandaughter who enjoyed running around having freedom. A little mini park in the middle would be perfect.

Lovely views and walks. Beautiful caravan park we will return. Excellent value for money and wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to friends and family.

Not submitted facilities grade as unable to use due to covid.
