This is a very quiet CL site in a small hamlet it has no facilities other than water electric and waste disposal point all of which are clean, tidy and accessible.
The pitches are all grass and you will need levellers.
We didn't see the owners, we were left to get on with it which was fine by us.
There are some stunning views, (when we could see them) unfortunately we picked a really misty, rainy, drizzly weekend so we didn't get full benefit, also someone came and pitched far too close, right in front of our window to avoid being under one of the trees.
They have planted a few more trees around the edge and I do think that when they grow larger it will make the site feel a little too closed in.
There are several walks from the site which can take you to Biggin, The Waterloo pub, they do not allow dogs in or Hartington where there are shops and several pubs which serve food and do let dogs in. For further walks there is the lovely Biggin Dale, which we inteded to do but it was far too wet.
The Tissington trail can be reached off the road nearby or along a track by the site and accross a field, this takes you to the old Hartington station part of the trail.
We drove to Longnor and ate at ye olde Cheshire Cheese, we were able to take the dog in the bar and the food was really good.
I would visit again but hopefully in better weather when I would be able to enjoy the site and the area more.

Excellent C. L. (Caravan Club 5 van touring site). Fantastic views westwards over the hills of Derbyshire into Staffs.
Site is as previously described by others and was quiet when we visited for a 4 night stop. Everything is clearly signed on site. 2 of the 5 pitches are under trees.
Excellent base for walking and cycling the area. There is an easy 20 minute walk down into Hartington and a harder 30 minute walk back uphill!
Leave the car and walk to Alstonefield and have a good pub lunch at The George.
Tissington trail nearby plus 2 public footpaths that pass right in front of the site.

Just spent one lovely night at this haven of a CL Site. We just needed a getaway, and after a 45 minute drive we pitched up with ease as the site is ample for 5 units.
plenty of room for a kick about. Beautiful views over the Derbyshire countryside and we enjoyed a stunning sunset. There are no toilets or shower block but for one or two nights it is a perfect site.
Hartington is a leisurely 20 minute walk down the lanes, passing a small pond on the way. Take some bread for the ducks, they'll love you forever.
We will be returning many times in the future.

A fabulous, tucked away, site, on a small field, but you do not feel cramped. You are surrounded by open fields and sheep, and very little else, it is bliss! The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly, and even let us stay all day on our last day as the site wasn't busy.
There is full electrics/waste disposal/recycling facilities. Although there are obviously no children's 'facilities', there is plenty of room on the fieldd for them to play safely, ours were quite happy with cricket, bat & ball etc.
There are some great walks and cycle routes around the local area, and you do not need to even start your car if you don't want to.
There is a lovely walk over the fields to the village of Hartington, which took us about 30 minutes with 2 children under 10 years old!In hartington there are 3/4 country style pubs, a great cheese shop and some lovely village style shops.
We cycled on the Tissington Trail, a great cycle/walking route, which you can access literally 500 yards from the site. All in all, a brilliant CL site, in absolutely beautiful surroundings.
We will not hesitate to return to this lovely site.

Had a lovely weekend away with the family (despite the rain)
This is a beautiful and peaceful CL site located in a small Hamlet outside of Hartington. The owners were extremely helpful and welcoming. Always willing to advise on local facilities and walks.
The site itself is fairly level if a little uneven in places with a chemical disposal point, water point and electric hook ups. The views from the site are wonderful in all directions. The farm outbuildings have been converted into holiday lets and are on the other site of the lane from the caravan site. This is also where the refuse facilities are located. Access into the field is OK if a little tight. We have a 7. 8m twin axel van and managed to get through the gate with ease with a little help from fellow caravaners!
There are some wonderful walks from the site. A walk across the fields into Biggin will find you a lovely pub which also serves food. (this is also a CCC site. Doesn't look as lovely as Whitehouse Farm Barn!) you can continue from here to Biggin dale which leads to Wolfscote Dale and then back into Hartington for a well earned drink and bite to eat. The YHA is based in Hartington Hall which also has a lovely bar and restaurant open to non residents.

We stayed here for a long weekend. It is a very nice site with no facilities other than water and waste. The field is ample for five caravans, but it would be rather snug is all had awnings. It is in a lovely position with some fantastic walks, very quiet and peaceful. Nearby Hartington is a lovely little village, typical of the peak district. The only criticism we could level is that the gateway into the field was challenging for a large twin axle caravan - but we made it without a scratch. Would certainly go again to enjoy the walks.

Absolutely beautiful. No complaints at all, this site is very peaceful and pleasant, lovely walks, lovely scenery. Owners pleasant and helpful. Have re-booked another 2 weekends.
Hartington is a short drive away but well worth a visit. Went with 2 other couples who asked us to leave a good review for them too!
Tissington Trail just a stone throw away.
Fantastic weekend kids loved it too.

We just got back from this newly opened site and I must say we were most impressed very friendly and helpful owners. The scenery is beautiful, the sheep in the next field are lovely to see and hear. Lovely walks all around. 5 minute drive and you get to the lovely village of Hartington.
The site as adequate facilities for waste, no toilets or showers, but no worries if you have your own. We had a bbq while we were there. To say it was there first weekend I think they did really well, the owner comes to meet you when you get on site, and we have booked again. We will most definitely be going there again
