Good site, Marie is a very pleasant and helpful receptionist with good English. There was two toilet blocks open, the one nearer reception the more modern, toilet paper supplied!

Nice lake hard to fish, but whilst there a guy landed a 44lb mirror carp, no photo taken, Marie was most disappointed.

Water tasted good and high pressure delivery.

Village has a well stocked Casino mini-market.

Very convenient off the 2020 road.

ACSI used

Used as a stopover on the way to Millau, not booked and found through acsi book as we travelled down France.

Lovely warm welcome by the lady at the desk, told to pitch where we liked other than lower field to left as wet after rain and we have a twin axle van. Loads of pitches to choose from and close to facilities.

Facilities very clean and of good standard. Two pin electrics but plemty of bollards to use. Good playground not that we need it but of a good standard.

Close to town centre and a lovely park with statutes and the story of the village along with tennis courts and swimming pool. Would be good as a place to stay and not just pass through on the way South. The village proceeding it (North of it) had good cheap supermarket fuel which could be done with unit attached but easier once dropped van at site and good supermarket too.

All in all a very nice site with lake and good facilities, would use again

Oops. Forgot to submit this review from May/June 2014.

Stopped over on the way down 1 night and was so impressed stayed for 2 nights on the return.

Marie is lovely speaks excellent english and is happy to let you try your french!.

Basic facilities but always clean. There are laundry facilities (tokens I think), a nice fishing lake that the dog swam in, although it was steep sided and difficult to get in and out of so beware. There are ducks that wander around the site and red squirrels. Don't have kids so no comments to offer re children's play areas etc.

Re dog walking, we ended up taking her around (and in!) the lake then in to town as Marie said the local landowners, especially Mr Dassault (as in 'Dassault Systemes') (lots of money) don't like anyone walking on their property so close off public rights of way and pay thugs (sorry, employees) to walk around with guns looking menacing! Allegedly.

However she did say that there is a park not too far away that, although, there are 'no dogs' signs, everyone ignores them! Very French

There are 2 patisseries in the village (which is very nice and quiet saw a couple of restaurants) 10 minute walk for croissants and bread in the morning. They alternate early morning opening times. The one in the corner next to the mini casino is probably the better.

You can hear a couple of town clocks striking (about a minute apart, so don't know if there is a story there?) during the night which adds to a lovely ambiance.

Mature large trees (not sure what kind) so permanent shade in most areas. Bill is a an expat and the handy man nice chap. Euro two pin sockets required.

We called Marie from our main site down south (she is an absolute star), and she booked our dog in to the local vets for her pet passport worming. Vets was just the other (north) side of town (35 euros) very modern very helpful vets.

Located just off the A71 but need to come off north at Jct3.

If travelling south go down to Salbris and join the A71 there. Careful of the one way system we turned right just past the canal/river not in town. Google streetviewing it first helps.

Accepts ACSI.

Only negative was the high speed train line on the other side of the main road. But as the name suggests its over very quickly!

We visited this lovely site in April as a random choice during a months Tour of France. It turned out to be a great decision as it is a beautifully well kept site with excellent facilities. The best thing however about this site was definitely the staff who were very friendly and extremely helpful. It has a lovely lake where you may fish for free and a swimming pool again free. We visited a number of sites in France

All of which were of a good standard but this is certainly one we look forward to returning to as it was our favourite. I am sure you will not be disappointed if you stop there.

We visited here on our way up from the Millau area. We used it as a stopover on our way to Camping les 4 vents near Paris.

The directions were accurate. The turn in to the park is a bit deceiving as it looks like a dead end but you can see the sign and entrance immediately after turning in. There is a really nice town park at the entrance. The reception staff, one woman in particular, was a little cold but I guess she got the job done!

We were told to pitch wherever we liked. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but started to fill up quickly. Just as well because we hadn't booked ahead. Although there are plenty of pitches here. This site is definitely used a lot as an overnighter on the way north or south.

The kids had spotted a trampoline type thing near the entrance so they were gone instantly! This was free to use. There were Go Karts which were for hire near the reception but I think they were a little pricey. Maybe €5 for half hour, I can't really recall. Look out for the monster rabbit!

The toilet block was a little old but clean with loo roll provided. Showers were clean also.

The playground was nice if a little basic.

There is a nice lake on the site so bring your rod. I assume its free to fish? You can walk around the lake, which takes maybe 15-20 mins at a stroll.

I can't comment on the surroundings as we only stayed overnight and were gone early the next day.

Overall I would recommend this site. It was clean had easy access, wasn't too expensive and was close to the autoroute.

We have been 3 times to this site now and have enjoyed every one. It is a site that you can really have a quite time or drive around looking at the chateaus and the champagne area, It does get really busy in July and August. Pitches are flat so doesn't take any setting up of outfit. Lovely to see Red Squirrel's and baby rabbits running around and there are 8 ducklings now that seem to be resident on the fishing lake. We will be back next year on our way home usually staying a week, as this site is easy to get to and the owners are so helpful and friendly.

We spent two separate nights at this site, one on the way down to the Dordogne and one on the way back and couldn’t have been more pleased. It is just a short distance from the A71 motorway so not too far to go out of your way.

I made the bookings online in advance and wasn’t asked to pay a deposit. I was slightly concerned though as they stated that our pitch would only be held until 7pm on the day of arrival. I emailed them to ask if they would hold it for us if I rang to say we were stuck in traffic they still said that they would only hold it until 7pm. Fortunately we arrived in plenty of time and we were given a huge open pitch away from the lake but close to the amenities block. We had the adjacent pitch on the return leg.

The welcome on the first night was fine although the lady didn’t speak a great deal of English and my French was even worse. We managed. On the second visit we were welcomed by a different lady who spoke excellent English so I didn’t need to use my school French at all.

While we were checking in there was a man in reception calling his insurance company. He had just arrived and hadn't put the handbrake on his car while he unhitched the caravan. Once the car was free it rolled straight into the lake. The lady in reception was very helpful to him and gave her numbers so the insurance people could speak to her if they needed an interpreter.

The facilities were good. The block had separate ladies and gents showers in one building but the toilets were in separate ones. There was plenty of hot water and the pressure was good. There were only 2 toilets in the ladies which seemed a little inadequate but we use our own caravan toilet anyway so it didn’t matter much.

We used the restaurant on the second night and enjoyed the food very much although they were very busy and the service was slow to begin with. It was very reasonably priced too. We ordered bread for the following morning which had to be collected from the restaurant.

The lake is lovely for sitting around and the site provide chairs that you can use for relaxing and fishing. We bought a little rod from reception for about 10 Euros and within 5 minutes the children had caught 2 fish.

The swimming pool at the entrance to the site is free to use. Men have to wear speedos and you collect your tickets from the site reception. The pool opens in the afternoon at around 2pm and stays open until 7pm.

Next to the swimming pool is a little public park with a bandstand where they have occasional live music but we missed the jazz band that were due to play the night after we left.

The town itself hasn’t got much except for a boulangerie, restaurant and a bank but within a 5 minute drive is a Carrefour with petrol station so you can stock up on supplies and fuel for the onward journey.

In summary, this is a great site for an overnight stay but I would happily have spent a couple more nights.

Used as a stop for a couple of nights on route south. (As do most of the people using the site)

Reservation was made online and emails were prompt.

The pitch allocated was excellent right on the Lake and plenty of space. The staff were very helpful even emailed me a few days before we left home to tell me about a fireworks display on the evening we arrived.

They have a basic restaurant on site as well as a takeaway. Swimming pool and tennis courts are officially not part of the site but are located at the front gate so couldn't be any closer.

Can't say much about the local area but 3 main supermarkets within 4 miles and great terrain for cycling.

If in the area would definitely use again.

We have been to this site 2 years running now. It is perfect for touring around the Chateau's and Villages. Very well run, flat pitches, good for children of all ages new tramperline, Tents are really well equipped, the weather was really hot this year, so the pool was well used. Marie speaks at least 5 languages so no problem for anyone. The bakers shop is close by but you can order your bread from the site. Plenty of places to eat out. We are already making arrangements for next year even though we only arrived home today 10th sep 2012. Good luck to Marie, Eric and Bill for next season.

We stayed at this site for one night, as a stopover on our way further south.

We booked online directly with the site and had prompt confirmation of booking. The site was very easy to find, exiting the A71 at Junction 3. Reception gave us a very warm welcome, which was lovely after a long drive. We were allocated Pitch 63, a good size pitch, with plenty of shade. The toilet and shower blocks were a little dated, but very clean and there was plenty of hot water. Remember your loo roll though!

We didn't want to cook supper, so asked reception what our options were. They told us about a pizza van in the village next to the church, and gave us a map. A short five minute walk and we'd ordered our tea. Delicious, fresh and worth it! There is also the choice to eat at the cafe on site should you want to.

It was beautifully quiet at night and we woke refreshed and ready for our onward journey.

Highly recommend.
