We have a folding camper and decided to use this site as a one night stop before a ferry to France. Decided on this site after reading the reviews. They could not be more accurate. This is a great site. The owners are extremely attentive to keeping the site immaculate and are doing a great job. Yes the waste disposal is over the road but it's no problem really and the road noise is not intrusive.
Lovely grass level pitches with room for about five with a hard standing area for late nighters. A truly wonderful site with easy access to the ferries. If you need a site before your sailing this is the one for you. Be aware there's not much here for the children. Just peace and quiet.

What can I say that hasn't been said already. A lovely quiet little site well placed near channel ports and the tunnel.
The toilet facilities are lovely, but the waste disposal wasn't great. The hard standing area is a good idea if the ground is likely to be soft; you can get about 4 vans on the hard standing area but it does leave you rather close to your neighbours.
Didn't get round to checking out the local drinking establishments, but all in all I'd definitely recommend a stay. £12 a night - bargain!

A little gem in the garden of England
Positives
Site is very well kept and toilet / shower block is first class. The owner is very friendly and apart from his initial welcome to the site leaves you alone to enjoy your break.
Toilet / shower block first class with both hot and cold water from all the taps within the block, always clean and fresh smelling. Showers are 10p per minute and all coins can be used from 10pence piece to a £2 coin. Separate area for wet / dry shave yet again with hot and cold water.
Field holds several vans and in the summer I could imagine this to be beautiful with horses and sheep on the adjoining field (to wet for us on this visit) Hard standing area also very well kept but you will need a double EHU lead if you are on the opposite side to the EHU points (The owner does have a spare so I am led to believe) my wife and friend did feel they were in a car park though.
Site is well situated for the garden of England allowing easy travel over the east Kent area and close to ferries and channel tunnel crossings.
Negatives
Unfortunately the waste disposal area (nothing more than a drain) is over the road away from both field and hard standing area and tucked around the back. This does not seem to bad until you realise that the cars do come flying in from the country lane and through the village, one evening we had to empty and was a little annoyed that the gate was locked for the disposal point and had to negotiate climbing over a mid thigh fence with both waste disposal and toilet cassette. However there is not a lot they can do about this.
The village pub is very disappointing

This is a small CC certified location - taking only 5 caravans. It has no shop or activities, so be aware if you're looking for something more.
We stayed here with a caravan plus awning. The field is very well kept and well maintained. The toilets and showers are not in the field, but just a short walk away. There are 2 unisex toilets and one shower, which costs 10p per minute. The block is of extremely high quality and must have been recently renovated: the toilets and shower were hotel standard, and probably better than most people would have at home!
We were almost put off the site by comments from other reviewers, but am pleased to say that the comments were erroneous:
One reviewer mentioned lack of dog walks. The village green was literally 30 yards from the camp entrance for those 'last thing at night' outings, whilst the whole area is criss-crossed with hundreds of footpaths and bridle paths. The site is only 2 miles from the sea and easily walk able.
Another reviewer mentioned a busy road along the site. We were parked next to this road, which is really a country lane. By 'busy' the reviewer must have meant that sometimes there were more than 2 cars per minute at rush hour! It really wasn't a problem.
Only negative point was that the waste water disposal was across the road and in the farm yard into a drain sewer. Very unpleasant!
We enjoyed the tranquillity of this site. But if you're looking for action, this is not the place for you. Deal is about 5 mins away by road and is OK. Broadstairs is not too far either.
We would consider visiting here again, even potentially as an overnight stop on the way to France.

Excellent Caravan Club CL. Field site with hard standing option for overnight stops or extra large outfits. Lovely new shower and toilet block - heated and very clean. There was charge for the shower, but as the overnight rate was not high, this seemed fair. A slight disadvantage were the waste emptying points which were across a small road in a farmyard. There are two pubs within walking distance, however when we visited they did not serve food in the evenings. Would definitely recommend the site.

We stayed here for six nights in March 2012 which happened to be a spell of unseasonably warm weather. The Caravan site is easy to find and the grass is close mown with ample electricity points (16 amp). There are toilets and a shower in a room in front of the adjacent row of cottages. This room is newly refurbished to an exceptionally high standard with quality fittings and decor. It is heated and makes an extremely pleasant place to wash and shower. There is plenty to do in the area and Supermarkets for provisions are five minutes away in Deal (Sainsburys and Co-op]. We visited Whitstable to sample the Oysters, Margate and Ramsgate as well as Deal, Dover and Folkestone. The site has a road running adjacent to it which can get busy at peak times but it is not intrusive and the site is a very pleasant place to relax. A Water supply is in the corner of the site and the whole place seems well cared for and the toilet areas are spotlessly clean. The site owner will make himself known to you in due course and is very helpful and friendly, being a caravanner himself. All in all a very pleasant place to spend time in a beautiful and interesting part of the country.

We stayed one night on this sight, where we found it to be very nice, there were only 5 caravans/motorhomes on it, there were lovely toilets and shower new and lovely and clean. The shower had slot machine for the hot water.
Electric hook up and water tap near. We had a pony and young cattle in the field next to us.
It was good we weren't charged extra for our dogs. The only downside we found was we didn't find good dog walks within walking distance, except for the village green. The village was quite busy from traffic driving through, but didn't hear the noise from the campsite. The owner was very friendly.

Stayed here for 10 nights. Excellent CL with modern, clean and spacious shower and 2 toilets. Shower is 10p per minute, there is a clearly visible timer from the shower so you know how much time you have left!
Grass kept short and beautiful flower tubs and troughs around the site. The village doesn't have a shop, the nearest supermarket is in Deal, there are a couple of pubs just up the road in the village.
As said in the other reviews a popular stop over for the ferries (Dover only 15 mins away) but we stayed a lot longer and are glad we did as we had a very comfortable stay on this gem of a site.

We recently stayed for 5 nights here. Super site, new showers & toilets lovely & clean. Could do with an extra grab rail just outside of the shower to aid those of us who are not so good on the old legs! Although close to farm & road no noise. The village green, just a two minute walk from the site is a great place to exercise the dogs if you have any. It seemed a good 'stop over' site for those travelling onward to the continent. If a bus time table could be provided on the notice board this would be a help as well.

CC CL just outside Deal in village of Great Mongeham. The site is on grass with ehu - however there is a hard standing area with a couple of ehu they are happy for you to use if you prefer.
Toilets / showers are brand new and situated around the other side of the cottages that back onto the site. Plenty of hot water and machine takes 20p coins.
There is hardly any road noise yet you are just yards away from the village. A pub in the village does evening bar meals.
Less then 5 minutes drive to Deal / Walmer beaches. Both pebble beaches but with promenades, cafes and shops galore - a little oldie worldly and well worth visiting.
This is a great little site only 15 minutes from Dover ferry port - a perfect stop over. The CC book shows £10 per night but they have increased to £12 - still a bargain and would recommend.
