On arrival at the site you are met by no less than 3 skips (could these not be disguised with fencing?) and a barrage of signs issuing instructions (none said 'welcome'). You then drive through a reasonably attractive caravan park, past the toilet block to the camping field beyond.
There are 3 play areas, all of which have a sign 'closed' on them (are they or not?) but are used by all the children. They are attractive and have a range of play equipment, although in need of some updating.
The toilet block and washing up facilities have plenty of hot water and the toilets have sinks that are cleaned regularly. We were left alone after we had pitched and there was no hassle about leaving times. However the floors of the toilet block are always dirty, the blocks did smell and would benefit from upgrading.
On the plus side the campsite had good views and was pretty central for beaches. At £15 a night for a pitch was an ok price.
The local garage come supermarket was good value for money, with a range of produce, (bacon was excellent) and seems to specialise in pasties, which were good too.
Overall, the campsite generally has an air of being past its prime and could be more welcoming.

Stayed here for 4 nights over Aug bank holiday weekend.
Site was very busy full to capacity. So it wasn't a peaceful trip as people in nearby tents could be heard until early hours.
Tent field is on a slope but we did find fairly flat pitches.
During the weekend the water for showers by mid morning wasn't the warmest, but if you showered early or late then it was great. By Tuesday the site had become quiet the showers were excellent.
There was no toilet roll or hand soap in the toilets so you had to take your own.
Toilets and showers were cleaned each day around lunchtime, and considering how busy the site was they remained in very good order.
Site is dog friendly with a dog exercise area.
There are 3 play areas for children and all are in good condition and our children loved them.
Site fees are very good we paid £15 a night no extra charges for dogs, kids, gazebo's which for the area is excellent, although if I had paid more then I would have expected better facilities.
There is a garage with a mini supermarket a few mins drive away but nothing really within walking distance. Beaches are about 10 mins in the car.

We just returned from a pleasant 2 nights at Gower Farm. We paid a fair price for 2 pitches with hook up, next to each other and sheltered from any breeze - great considering it was Bank Holiday weekend.
Yes, the toilets are a bit dated and basic and you do need to take your own toilet roll. That said, we were more than happy with the hot showers, lovely views and great location.
We bought an OS Map and took a 2 mile walk to the King Arthur Pub, Reynoldston, across lovely country paths. The footpath meets the top right corner of the site.
In conclusion, this no-frills site had everything we needed. In our opinion, it doesn't deserve the previously negative reviews - unless, of course, things have improved since then. We will, I am sure, return to Gower Farm.

After reading the reviews from this site I was a bit worried. There was no toilet roll and the floors were a bit dirty but most of that was caused by idiots using there car to drive around the field to use the toilets which churned up the bottom part of the field.
There was 2 good play areas for the kids. We were allowed to pitch where ever we liked which was good as we were in a group. At £15 per night for 2 adult 3 kids and a dog I thought was very good.
We all had a good time and will use the site again.

Me and my girlfriend found our way to this campsite after being turned away from a 'full' hillend campsite.
We drove into the entrance of the campsite and spoke to the janitor who told us to drive on and pitch the tent 'anywhere we liked'. Firstly you drive through a touring Caravan field which looks relatively well kept (bar a few dilapidated caravans which spoil it in my view) and then onto the tent and campervan field with toilet and shower block on your right. The field is on a slight downward slope. The field is split into two and we parked and pitched right at the top corner of the field between two small tents. Contrary to other reviews on this site we maintained a very large pitch throughout our 7 day stay and enjoyed a week of total peace and quiet. I observed that Alot of families with children tend to pitch close to the toilet block and children's play area (both situated at the bottom of the field) subsequently there were no kids in any tents around us.
The boss then drove up in his 4x4 and we handed over the cash for 4 nights (paying for 3 more after the 4th night) he told me where the water points were and apologised that the one nearest to me wasn't working very well (the tap by the showers was perfect though) Then he drove away and left us alone for the rest of our time on site.
The toilet and shower block looks nice from the outside but is clearly in need of refurbishment inside! There was never any toilet roll available but I did see the facilities being cleaned daily but its obvious that an overhaul of the facilities would make this site a lot more desirable. The only other issue I had was that there was no on-site shop! Considering the size of the site, this is madness! (the nearest shop is a 5 minute drive/15-20 minute walk) There was a small freezer for the freezer packs though.
Beaches are within 5 minute driving distance, it is annoying that you have to pay to park at nearly every beach now! The closest commercial beach with family facilities is Port eynon, but the best beaches are three cliffs and rhosilli. Mewslade bay is brilliant if you love silence and tranquillity (its just past pitton cross and is difficult to get to, but the parking is free)
All in all I had a good experience here, I love the quiet and that's what I got. I hope they modernise the toilets and showers but they were bearable because they were regularly cleaned.

Drove down to the Gower on Friday evening and this was the third campsite we got to (first two were full). So we were very grateful to find somewhere with space! Plenty of space in second field.
Toliet block was reasonable but basic - no toilet roll or soap to wash hands after using toilets. Didn't seem too dirty although somebody had used one of the showers as a toilet (why do people do this??).
Showers lovely and hot at all times we used them (morning, afternoon and evening). Washing up facilities fine, also plenty of hot water).
Not too noisy at night. Mostly families and couples. Owner keeps a close eye on site with regular inspections in vehicle.
Close to Port Eynon (by car). Nothing much within walking distance.

Living in Swansea we have visited this site before where our friends had a permanent caravan pitch.
We went this week following around two weeks of very poor weather and rain. Enquiring with the campsite owner he mentioned that heavily used traffic areas were quite muddy but in fairness we got to the top field with no wheel spins!
Had an electric hook up, the large tent, 6 x 4 trailer and 4 kids for only £17 a night. Most other campsites within Gower wanted at least £23 a night and whilst they might have better amenities (or not) they wanted to add extra tarrifs for more than two children, parking the trailer etc.
I was pleased to find there was no extra cost for parking the trailer up and the tents were all well spaced apart - although it wasn't exceptionally busy due to the week before's poor weather.
Site is ideally located for a short drive to Horton & Port Eynon and Rhosilli isnt that much further.
There is a garage come small supermarket type before you get to it, and just after in Scurlage there is a pub, shop and chip shop which all of which were useful. The local put/club also runs a mini bus service from the site if you phone to arrange.
Campsite owner does his nightly patrols which I don't see a problem with, as last thing you want is a couple of idiots on the site ruining things.
Toilet and shower block is quite dated although the shower heads have all been upgraded and the water was always hot (even at night). Toilet paper was available most days from a communal roller.
Toilets were cleaned every morning but due to the field being quite muddy near the block the floor tended to suffer from the muddy water.
Will definitely use the site again as its conveniently located and very cheap.
Kids had three small playgrounds in different areas of the site to play on and these were all decent safe looking apparatus
This site is located very closely to some of the most beautiful coastline in Europe. Shops/pubs are a drive away which limits the convenience of an on site shop but then you pay a premium on price for these.

I really like this campsite and have stayed on it several times over the past few years.
I have always found the owner to be committed to his campsite but pleasant.I know he doesn't like damage caused to the grass from barbecues and campfires. He regularly seems to be on patrol in his 4x4 around the camp field at the back and the caravan field at the front of the site.
The cost is reasonable (around £14 per night for a campervan and awning, 2 x adults, 2 x children and a dog)
I know from experience this campsite gets busy at weekends. There has been a refurbishment of the facilities promised for a couple of years now but the only difference I saw this year was that the toilet block had been painted on the outside.
The toilets/showers were slightly cleaner this year although still no toilet paper. They're not the best but they are reasonable and there are hairdryers available.
There is a wash up room with several sinks and very hot water and a washing machine room. There is a kiddies playground in the corner and an ice cream van visits.
There is a small chalet hut which is very well stocked with info leaflets of stuff to do in the area.
The nearest shop is the well stocked petrol station up the hill or there is a mini market on the way to Rhossili by a pub.
Rhossili and Port Eynon are just a five minute drive away.
I have stayed in several other campsites in the area and this one compares well. I would recommend it.

It was the bank holiday week and our plans changed last min, which meant we could make the weekend surf. We normally stay at "Hill End" in the Gower when surfing in wales. Its right next to the beach and kept really clean. Unfortunately, because it was so late in the week, I knew I had no way of getting on. So I tried for the nearest site, which was Gower Farm. (note we are a married couple) Reading the reviews I was a little concerned, but they had 05 dates, so I thought "things must have improved". How wrong can you be! We arrived on the Saturday of the bank holiday, and still had to pay for for 3 nights. told to find a spot in the back field. No pitch number or even shown the pitch. You can imagine the kayos we found when we got to the field, tents all over the place! Pitch on top of pitch.Really unsafe! But the weather was good and all we wanted to do was surf. However. This is the part you "really" "really" must read and take note of!.The facilities. They are awful.Toilets that god knows when they had been cleaned last.Showers that you would not want to wash a dog in, let alone yourself or your children. In the two days we stayed they never received a brush, mop or even a hose down. They have to be the most disguising facilities i have ever seen. They owner should be ashamed!

People camping next to us were asked to leave by the owner for making to much noise! I can vouch for them I have 3 young children, these people didnt make a noise. In fact the only thing wich kept on waking me up was the owner driving around in his 4*4 with his lights on full every night at 1.30 am!
Hot water was only avalable at certain times of the day and then only for a short while, there is only so many cold showers someone can take. The Toilet block was the worst kept I have ever seen, people need to learn the difference between a toilet and a shower especially when doing a number 2! Probably from an upset camper.
This site only has one fire point and you are camping on next doors guylines
