We are just back home from a truly lovely visit to this site. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and the toilet blocks absolutely spotless. We had a lovely walk along part of the cycle path amidst stunning scenery. Cuil bay is definitely worth a visit too. We will be back to this small but friendly site, because, despite the weather (well it is November) we had a lovely relaxing time. Thank you x

On arrival welcomed by the owner and shown where to park and given a tour of site. Pitches hardstanding with EHU's on all. Showers and toilets immaculate. Hot / cold water at washing up + washing up liquid, clothes drier. Washing machine/drier available. Recycling. Dog friendly and plenty of walks / cycling tracks. Shower block is closed at 11 o'clock to 12 o'clock for cleaning. Hotel / pubs / shops about 4miles back towards Glencoe or Oban is only about 45mins away for Tescos, lidls, craft shops, cafes, etc.

What an excellent little gem of a site, the owners are very caring friendly people, nothing was too much trouble for them and they did everything possible to make our stay with them as good and happy as possible, would recommend to anyone, picturesque secluded location perfect as a base for any visit to the highlands around ben nevis/fort william or glencoe. Nearset shop 5 miles away, children's playground straight across road from site, every pitch has a fire pit with free firewood, wooden shelter with cooking equipment is excellent

Nearly drove past and missed this wee gem as I thought it was only for Camping and Caravanning Club members. I was made to feel very welcome and nothing appeared too much trouble for Graham and Carol who run the site. It is a small site with a lot of character. The 2 static Gypsy caravans, available for hire looked intriguing and the facility to light outdoor fires was a lovely idea. Toilets were spotless and a nice outdoor wash up. My dogs appreciated their run along the adjacent quiet cycle way and also in a grassy fenced area where Graham had cut paths around his young trees. I'm sure kids would love this too! I fully intend to visit again for a longer stay.

Loved our stay on the gateway to the Highlands. Like others on here would love to keep this site a secret, but that would not be fair on Graham and Carole. Toilets are hotel standard, immaculate modern and very clean. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners who have a wealth of knowledge about the local area. The heavy horses are real characters. And the surrounding area is very peaceful with stunning views. We will definitely be back if we can get a space.

Big thanks

Had our annual holiday at this site, and was well worth the distance to travel. Beautiful scenery, nice walks and had the great advantage of open fire pits with free fire wood. The facilities were more than adequate and very clean. We loved this site and if it wasn't a five hour drive, would go more often. Friendly site owners. There were two lovely gypsy caravans for hire which were reasonably priced and an open fronted shed for cooking.

As others have already said, I don't want to make this site too publicly known. This is so that we ourselves can be assured of a pitch next time! But, that is just not fair to the site owners, who go away above and beyond the call of duty in an effort to make you enjoy your stay.

The site is ideally located near the Argyll/Highland border, and this makes it an ideal spot for touring this beautiful part of Scotland, with both Oban and Fort William around half an hour away. And Glencoe is just around the corner, too. For keen cyclists, NCN Route 78 s right on the doorstep, so it couldn't be handier.

When we visited, it was off season, so very quiet. But this was ideal for us, as we enjoyed the perfect peace!

The owners make you feel very welcome, and they are full of knowledge of what to see and do in the area.

There is the benefit of some high speed wifi for free, and all the basic amenities you would hope for at a small site such as this.

Overall, this place is highly recommended, and we will definitely be back!

Lovely small campsite taken care of by a lovely couple. We took a Gipsy caravan - mostly for the fun of staying in a unique accommodation - it is very basic, no heating or electricity inside. But it had a lovely fireplace next to it (fires allowed in designated fireplaces) with a kettle, plenty of chopped wood and a great outdoor kitchenette with BBQ available for use.

Showers/toilet block small (2 showers only - but enough for the size of the campsite) but clean, big sinks outside to wash. Nice calm area, some good walks around and strategically convenient for exploring the area. Close to the main (but quiet) road so easy to spot. Satnav gives wrong address, make sure you read the road signs. We had a cup of tea with the owners - and they are lovely people, directed us to places worth visiting and took care of us thoroughly.

We stopped only for one night but then came back at the end of our stay in highlands for the last night before the drive back to south of England. Would definitely recommend and plan to visit them again in the future. Cannot specify on child friendliness as have none myself, but imagine would be pretty high as there is a nice playground just across the road.

I could mention the lovely views, helpful owners, spacious pitches, excellent and spotlessly clean facilities, cycle tracks, walks, log fires and the good weather but that would mean that I might not secure a pitch the next time!

This is a lovely site but when full, toilet facilities might be a challenge!

This would not stop us visiting though. Soooo good not to have to pitch in a regimented fashion. Free wifi is a bonus. 5 star!

I really want to keep this place a secret, but that would be unjust to Carol and Graham who are lovely people who really care about their campsite. The site is a fabulous little gem, clean & quiet in a gorgeous location.

There are toilets, showers & handbasin, one each male & female, in the same block, kept lovely and clean, outside are two undercover washing up sinks with lots of hot water.

The cookhouse shelter is for the use of the gypsy wagons, but there is an awning attached to the back to provide shelter for campers in wet weather.

The camping field itself is uneven and slopes with rocky parts, finding a flat enough area for a large tent proved a challenge, but well worth it we thought.

Fires are allowed and each pitch is provided with a stone circle and there is plentiful firewood, but please folks supervise your children with axes, we saw some pretty scary sights once or twice.

We hoped the fires would be fairly helpful keeping the midgies at bay, of which there are lots and lots, but unfortunately not, we were plagued by them, however this of course is to be expected in this area and it wouldn't put us off.

There are no ball games allowed on site but there is a sports field across the main road, also there is a cycle track running along the back of the site.

The nearest shop is in Ballachulish roughly 7 miles away, but the site may be starting to sell basics in the future.
