Good campsite for cycling and walking base. Parked on hardstanding with great views and appreciated the indoor washing-up facilities and clean showers and toilets. Quiet site with two pubs within walking distance. Friendly owners provided good local information. We recommend visiting the local airfield on Sundays to see the cold war jet collection, Bruntingthorpe Aviation, and a walk to Market Harborough via Foxton locks and the canal towpath, then getting the 44 bus back to Saddington (only about a mile back to the campsite)

We were looking for a peaceful weekend and this little site ticked all the boxes. Very nice welcome from Maurice who was very helpful and showed us all the facilities he even offered to pick us up from Foxton Locks if we found the walk too much when his partner got back she came and gave us a warm welcome too.
Very quiet, peaceful and secluded site, facilities immaculate and an abundance of free hot water in the showers. Electric by meter however £5 covered all we needed for the two nights including having the heating on.
Lots of signed walks to do and the Locks very good to visit, however were very busy at the weekend, next time we will visit them in the week.
Excellent value for money.

After a warm welcome from Wendy we were able to select a pitch from those available and had a guided tour of the site and facilities. The shower block was still under construction but immaculately clean and the showers proved to be excellent. The pitches were level and well maintained and hook-up was straightforward. Wendy and Maurice could not have been more helpful and welcoming. We opted to stay for an extra night because we loved the site and all it offered.
Uninterrupted views over the rolling hills of Leicestershire, sunsets and stars were our idea of perfection. By day we enjoyed walks around the area and along the Leicester arm of the Grand Union canal including the impressive flight of locks at Foxton. In the evening we barbecued in a rural idyll!
We ate on site every day as the views were unsurpassable but there were a number of pubs fairly nearby and even an Indian Restaurant that delivers to the site!
We will return! This is exactly what a CS should be.

Another lovely weekend at this site & boy have there been changes! They are installing new facilities which are partially complete and usable. Lovely new loos, sinks & shower. Ladies one is a nice room, plenty of space and hot shower. The Barn also has 2 new pot washing sinks and new electrics. The table and chairs are still there for campers or board game players like us. The award winning chip shop was open too. Local Fleckney has a Coop too.
Wendy the owner greets you with a very warm welcome and told us all about other future plans too which sound very exciting. She even came to say goodbye on Sunday as she was going out and didn't want to miss saying goodbye. This site has become one of our fav go tos for a weekend break and looking forward to another visit soon. Thanks Wendy.

We stay at this wonderful site on a regular basis, it is not far from home, but always feels as if we have entered another world. The lovely grassy, well-kept pitches have beautiful views over the valley with some fantastic sunsets to be seen, but above all else it is the friendly, helpful couple who own own and run it, who make this an outstanding place to spend a few leisurely days to relax and see some of the outstanding countryside in this part of Leicestershire. They welcome people with dogs, there is stabling for those who wish to bring their horse as there are plenty of public footpaths and bridlepaths to explore the area.
The facilities provided on this CL are first class, always clean, the large, barn which houses the shower and toilet facilities, is set up to cater for tenters and caravanners alike, with chairs and dining table, washing up facilities, with a mobile phone charging point and wifi.
We can recommend a stay here, we have been visiting for the past two or three years, and hope to continue to, for many years to come.

This site is in a beautiful setting with the most beautiful views. The owners are lovely and tell you all you need to know. The facilities are 2 toilets and 1 shower all clean. The only issue we had with the facilities was that the toilet ran out of toilet roll on Sunday so we donated one which was still the only one until Monday morning. The shower was temperamental starting with only a small single stream but after a while it turned into a proper shower but would go from just right to freezing to scalding hot if anyone used the washing up or toilet so beware. However when going ok was a nice shower with plenty of room. The barn area which contains the washing up sink & the one toilet & shower also had a large space with couches, tables and chairs. Be aware at night that the light switch is a large grey on above right of the sink. Thought the barn was a nice touch. Only 2 hard standings an the rest grass but for the most part level and very well drained. Lots to see and do Foxton locks is a must & the rural centre at Wilstow was lovely. Sadly the award winning chippy was closed for owners holidays but we found the Blue Wave chippy at Market Harborough was very nice especially the cod.

Wonderful campsite, with fantastic views and sunsets, this is our 7th stay here. We are always made very welcome and fully intend to return many more times.
The owners are very friendly, helpful people, always making improvements to the site, for their customers.
The facilities are great, the shower, toilet and washing up area are always spotless, situated in a large barn where there are comfortable chairs and a table for tenters to keep out of the rain.

Lovely people who were very helpful and showed us round everything. Lovely views - unfortunately we never got to see the sunsets. Although, thanks to a very loud cockerel we did get to see the sunrise - everyday!
As for the facilities - I was quite disappointed in these, the toilets were quite clean but the shower (which is not the one in the picture on their website) would not drain and was in danger of overflowing - I removed the trap to see if it would help and I was rather concerned by what I found there. Also if someone flushed the loo I got scalded and for the money I wasn't expecting to have to boil a kettle to wash up.
I understand that this is a CL site but we went an hour away and stayed at a 5 star site for £5. 50 more
That said it is in a lovely area and we spent a lovely morning at Foxton locks and a day in Melton Mowbray visiting the museum, the heritage trail and a picnic in the park.

Yet another wonderfully relaxing weekend at Barford Top, Wendy and Maurice are lovely hosts, and keep the site looking lovely. The sunsets we were privy to over the weekend along with the thunderstorm were spectacular.
Plenty to do nearby, Foxton Locks is a must, and some very nice eateries nearby too.
Love this little gem so much we have booked again for next weekend.

We stayed for a weekend in order to go to a family wedding nearby. Unfortunately on the journey we had damaged the jockey wheel lever. We couldn't detach the caravan from the car! Maurice was extremely helpful and sorted us out very quickly.
What service!
The site has everything necessary for a comfortable holiday break. I endorse all that the previous reviewers have said.
