Yet another fabulous trip to Fairthorne Manor. We have visited the site with friends several times over the last few years and it never disappoints. Joe the site manager is fab! He is friendly, helpful and brilliant with the children, you feel like he is on a mission to ensure that everyone has the best time possible. In season the Saturday night campfire is a must, great entertainment for all the family!
The site is great for those with kids, lots of places to explore, trees to climb, ropes to swing on and streams to check out. Our children get a real sense of freedom as they explore, with us parents happy to let them roam, knowing that they are in a safe environment.
There are loads of great activities available, but to be honest, we've found that bats, balls and the site itself is all we've ever needed to have a great trip. That said, we tried the jumping pillow and the abseiling during a previous trip and the kids (and adults) had a ball. The activities were well organised and the staff very friendly.
The shower block is well maintained, clean and there is always plenty of hot water. A sensible limit on numbers means we've never had a problem being able to use the facilities when we want to.
Thank you Fairthorne Manor, we've already booked our next trip, so see you soon!

A beautiful scenic location, we were invited to camp for our friends daughters 9th birthday, we also had a taster of high
Rope activities which are on offer.
What a relaxing place to wake up in the morning, birds singing and beautiful scenery.
The staff are very friendly and help out at the drop of a hat, booked up for next month already plus paddle boarding lesson. We are really looking forward to are next visit. Cheers Fair Thorne manor

We returned for our third and definitely not final visit recently and had the most fabulous time. From the warm welcome we received from Joe the site manager when we arrived, until the moment we drove off the site we knew we were in camp heaven. Tyre swings and great play equipment for the kids, fabulous YMCA activities (we loved the canoe adventure), clean and practical facilities and it's not everywhere that permits fire pits (we brought our own but you can hire), so we made the best use of that and the trugs of firewood delivered by Joe.
The only suggestion our party of 3 families had was whether there could be a stand up freezer or equivalent housed in the outside block and so accessible at all times. We say this as we were blessed by fabulous warm weather and would have changed our ice packs more frequently. We did have access to a freezer in the clubhouse but this was occasionally closed for spells whilst the site manager understandably did his job!

This was our second visit. Joe the site manager makes the site what it is his attitude, personality are second to none. The site facilities are in good condition and the site is very clean and tidy. The camp fires on Saturday nights are fun and the general feeling on the site is a food relaxing one. The only down side to our stay was the time Joe had off as the person the YMCA sent to cover him were not to Joe's standard which is not his fault. There is a little stream/river on the site and the kids lived it along with the new play area. We are making it an annual visit as have now been for 6 nights total on 2 visits and are already planning for next year.

Had a great time over half term. Plenty of space to play cricket and football even though it was busy.
Toilets and showers were clean. Great natural attractions for the kids. Including rope swings, climbing trees and dens. Activities at YMCA centre were also very enjoyable especially the aqua slide.
Joe the manager is very approachable and incredibly helpful, nothing is too much trouble.
Lovely to have fire pit and wood delivered each day too.
Looking forward to coming back.

When my family arrived they were met by Joe who is the campsite manager and he was really polite and nice. I arrived a short while later and over the course if the next 3 days we all enjoyed the site. One of the main reasons for this was Joe as he went out of his way to make everyone feel happy and check how the stay was going, we for d no request was to big or small and for someone who has only just started the job it did not show once. He should be proud of the job he's foo g and the plans he has a is a credit to the YMCA as you can tell how much it means to him and how the guests enjoyed talking to him. We will be returning again due to him

Just back from a night camping at Fairthorne Manor. Absolutely loved it. Very relaxed, staff very helpful and welcoming- thank you to Joe especially. The kids devastated we had to leave.
It was low season still so only a handful of other campers. Not sure what would be like when full.
We did a few of the activities such as climbing and the jumping pillow which were easy to book and more importantly not too much health and safety overkill like some other places we've been to.
The kids just so absorbed with being outside, playing on the big tree stump and tyre swings.
Toilet and shower blocks clean and well maintained.
Will definitely go back again. Might try and avoid the really busy periods but definitely a gem of a place to go if not busy and are lucky with the weather.

We've just got back from 2 fantastic nights at Fairthorne. The kids loved the jumpy pillows on the Sunday morning! The facilities were great and I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the toilets and shower block. Thank you so much to the site manager Joe and all of the YMCA team! We can't wait to come back again!
