Just stayed here for 5 nights. The site is perfect with a spotlessly clean toilet block and washing up area with a freezer and kettle. Plenty of tourist literature to help with activities and close to Ross, Monmouth and Hereford.
Richard the owner was helpful and really pleasant.
The site is well maintained and the fishing pools are excellent and fishing is half price if you are staying on the site so was excellent value.
The prices for camping were excellent and we will certainly be returning.

What a fantastic little site. Two of us stayed for 5 nights. The toilet and shower facilities were spotless. The washing up area is a little basic with one large sink but there is a freezer for those who need one.
Mr and Mrs williams were very friendly and welcoming. A well stocked shop and post office in St. Weonards about 2 miles away and great food from The New Inn 3 miles away. We will return.

What a fantastic little place. Spotless facilities and a thoughtful kettle and tea / coffee by the wash up stand. Owners were friendly and helpful. Stayed with my 4 year old and his cousin and uncle In two tents. Can't wait to come back and try the fishing next time. No phone signal for 3 days on either Vodafone or O2. Bliss!
Some parts of the field are sloped but we managed ok and there were other areas available. A word of warning, the lakes are not fenced off so we set strict limits on the boys and they didn't stray from our field.
The open fire facilities are ingenious. You're given 3 bricks and a drum from a washing machine. Contains everything, you can cook on the top and gives out loads of heat.

Site was fantastic - good level site with EH, views from the van fantastic, amenities very clean. Richard and Gwen very accomodating. Fishing in the evening was great. Having a fire to finish off my night just made my holiday - local shops, required use of a car. 10 miles away is Hereford, 6 miles to Monmouth. Spent lots of time around the campsite walking and enjoying the free air. Very clear sky to watch stars!
Very quiet area, only cows or chickens for noise. Very rural but worth it to the peaceful camper. Three very large fields to fit in tents and tourers, campervans.
Great couple running the site.

Fantastic little site!
Stayed here for 2 nights in August. The site is a set in a farm, 3 small fields which are just right for what we where looking for. Mostly quiet, you can hear a little road noise but nothing too much. You can tell its a fairly new site, nice clean toilet/shower block with a nice size disabled/family room.
An honesty box is provided for eggs and fresh apple juice. A well stocked shop and post office is about 1 mile away, and if you get chance follow the signs for the cider shop (about 3 miles)as the stuff they produce is top notch.
There are 2 fishing lakes, lovely to walk around as the sun is setting, having spoken to a couple of fishermen they seemed very impressed with the fish they had caught.
If you are looking for a small site, away from it all this is the place. All in all, a little gem of a site.

Not sure I want to tell you about this gem of a site that is a fantastic base to explore the varied local attractions. With only 10 tent pitches and 5 caravan plots available over 3 small separate(but close)fields, Trippenkennet will appeal to those who are looking for a more secluded and peaceful break. The fact that this has designated fishing sets the scene.
Although this is farm based, this relaxed family friendly site takes advantage of its setting to provide a very clean and tidy back to basics experience with lovely views over the fishing lakes. You wont be camping in a manure minefield and you wont find yourself huddled together with other campers in a manicured park.
The friendly owners have clearly thought about this unpretentious venture, in its infancy, supporting the site with a new elegant and spotless toilet and shower block that adds a touch of luxury. The block also houses the smart and undercover washing up facilities with a full array of tourist info packs identifying local attractions and 'things to do'.
Facilities are listed above, key for us was the freezer and yes they do WIFI here. I am not a fisherman but I understand the facilities are good with low rates - plenty of decent sized fish. Theres also a dedicated dog walkers route.
We went with 3 kids all under 9 and they were able to occupy themselves. We were never looking for a 'play park. Part of the charm is the lack of! However a larger flat area with low cut grass would make a big difference to make more games available. It would also be useful to have some on site instructions as to where you could pitch on arrival.
Trippenkennet is a low key site, easy to find, far enough off the main road for seclusion (Not far enough to hear the odd rumble form the A466 for some). It was a pleasure to discover and we will be back.

We planned to spent a week on this lovely campsite, but it turned out we stayed two. We were pitching on the top field near an very old and big oak. We enjoyed it's shadow as it was very hot almost all the time.
Toilet block is big enough for the site and very well kept clean. I'm not a fisherman, but for those who are there was a lot of fishing going on at the lake at the campsite. It is a family campsite, but very quite and spacious. Beside a area for motorhomes and caravans, there are two fields.
A lot of small, lovely, towns to explore within a hour drive, the Welsh border just a few miles away and some very good pubs/restaurants in the neighborhood made this holiday a great one for us.
I would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed Two nights
Very friendly and helpful reception. Thanks Gwen. Camped by lake as we were fishing. All facilities spotless. Features such as freezer in the heat wave we are having now, and Apple Juice made on the farm to buy make this place special.
Fishing Lakes wonderful. Specimen lake full of large Carp. Fished the pleasure lake. Son and I had 15 Carp and 1 Tench between us. Regular anglers helpful with tactics to catch.
Make sure you bring unhooking mats, or get to the Fishing tackle shop in Ross before 4 p. M. To buy one each.
We will be back!

We stayed at this site for the May bank holiday for 3 nights. The site is split into 3, a meadow where the guides had there camp, the paddock, where we were with EHU and the third field which had hard standing for caravans and motor homes, and tent pitches with no EHU.
Brand new toilet block, free showers which work on a push button, but lovely and powerful and hot, and a disabled shower/toilet too.
Nothing else there except the beautiful countryside, very quiet, away from the main road and if you want total peace and quiet this is the place to go.
Our kids loved the open space, made a rope swing and a den and loved the freedom to run about ( 2 x 13 yrs 1 x 10 yr old).
There are 2 fishing pools, which were being used for fishing competitions when we were there, all looked a bit serious, but crikey some big fish in there! There is an additional charge to fish.
The owners live on the farm next to the site, lovely people who have a lovely little site - it won't suit anyone who expects entertainment, shops, kids play area etc.
One last thing, they have also have a self contained holiday cottage next to the paddock field, which is fully accessible for disabled guests, and also allow dogs, which is perfect for those who want to escape but cannot camp any longer.
Ross on Wye is about 20 minutes away, has a big Morrisons there, as well as lots of little shops, pubs and cafes.
Monmouth is about 30 mins away, very similar to Ross, but one big High Street.
A lovely part of the country to visit and just over an hour from Dudley.
Hopefully get back there again

Just got back from 6 days at this site, nice location, site is being improved as I write with hardstands. Electric hookup points are well positioned. Very nice toilet block almost new.
The site is on a working farm, overlooking two very tidy fishing lakes. There is also an area for tents.
Almost equidistant from Monmouth, Ross on Wye and Hereford, well positioned for visiting Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and the Welsh borders.
Owners very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will visit again as it is an suitable distance from where we live for two or more night stay.
Did try the fishing lakes, even though frozen over at daybreak it fished well.
There is a well stocked village shop and PO about 5 mins drive away selling the essentials, including very fresh vegetables, fruit milk and locally made bread.
Public houses within driving distance, though we didn't try any of the immediate local ones.
Overall nice quiet location, no road noise very relaxing.
