Having read other reviews of this site we decided to book for a two night stop over on the way back to the tunnel. Have to say a little disappointed and was expecting more. As other reviewers have stated the site is being renovated but it does seem that this is a slow process. The pitches are on three tiers that have been built upon stone and soil moved from elsewhere on the site and compacted making it very hard ground and you will need rock pegs if pitching a tent or awning. The sanitary facilities were not cleaned regularly enough and the showers left a lot to be desired. The bar, pool and small shop are quite a way from the camping area. You have to obtain a bracelet from reception before using the pool.
Check in time is after 3pm and reception was not staffed until then. Considering the cost of 25 euros per night in our opinion and in comparison to the other four sites we stayed at it didn't offer good value for money.
However, the positive is that it is in a good location for the tunnel with Calais about an hour away.

Overnight stop here (31-05-13) on our way south after arriving in France at Dunkirk. Just off motorway and easy to find. Sprawling tiered site with large touring pitches which are level with own water supply. We were only charged 14 Euros for pitch with electric, 2 persons & dog as there was major construction & refurbishment work upgrading facilities, which will be excellent in the future, they were O. K. During visit. Ideal site for stopover.
Lady at reception was friendly, helpful & spoke good English.

Nice little site, perfect for a 3/4 night stay.
Pitches are level & big, each with their own water.
You can BBQ on your pitch too.
The (mixed) toilet block was in the middle of being renovated when we went. It was also a little quiet which made for rather embarrassing toilet/shower visits during the day.
Pool was also being given a lick of paint but it looked as if it would be okay in the summer.
One thing that was a shame is that there were some goats and horses on site but they were kept in fields that had electric fences so our little one wasn't able to pet or feed them.
Don't recommend the bread, you can drive five mins into town and pick up some really nice baguettes.
All in all, a nice site.

We arrived early evening after arriving via the Tunnel. We had been told to phone when we got there, but while we were finding the number, the site owners appeared and welcomed us, showing us where to camp. Also we ordered bread for the morning. The site is cheap and has really good facilities, including for children. Toilets were clean. A nice quiet site, despite being not far from the motorway. Next time, we will make time to explore the lovely surrounding area.

We stayed at this site as a stopover on our way south. An hour from the Channel Tunnel, so perfectly situated. Our pitch was huge, with water, waste and electric. We didn't use any of the facilities so can't comment on those. Lady in reception was very helpful and welcoming. We set the caravan up and then went into St Valery sur Somme for a walk as the sun went down. What a lovely town. Definitely worth a visit, as is the site.

Chateau des Tilleuils is a fairly quiet and uncommercial site. We stayed there as a stopover on our way further south, as the site is about an hour from Calais and not too far off the main route to Rouen.
Staff were friendly and helpful (even providing coffee in flask for us in the morning to save us setting up our cooker!) The washing/toilet facilities are decent & clean. For the children there were trampolines, a swimming pool, a bouncy castle and a small playground in a large field, but these are quite spread out and a bit of a walk from the main camping area, so it would be difficult to keep an eye on very young children.
The site is on a hill and the pitches do slope slightly, but we were given a choice of pitches and managed to find a flat enough spot for our trailer tent.
The bar and snack bar povided us with decent food & drink at a reasonable price. There was a children's disco in the evening, but as the bar is well away from the camping area, it didn't disturb the peacefulness of the site.
This is an excellent stopover site or for a short break & we would definitely consider coming again for a couple of nights.

This is a €12 ACSI site and I am surprised that it has not been reviewed already. It is no more than 2 miles from the motorway so makes an (almost) ideal stopover. The ACSI book describes it as sloping, but the actual pitches are dead level, terraced into the hillside. There is however a decided hill up to the site from the reception area so good exercise for the morning bread, which can be ordered. There is also a well stocked shop and the most efficient looking reception/office area. There is an outdoor swimming pool, inconveniently situated near the chateau at the bottom of the site, but in any case this was covered up when we were there, so it might only be open in high season. There is also a rather tatty looking tennis court and decent looking play area.
The facilities are housed in a wooden building which looks a bit tatty and odd, but they seem perfectly ok. The one thing which is strange is that the CWD is also indoors here. OH says it's ok though. To find the 'sanitaires', you need to walk left along one of the roadways between the touring units until you come to a path between thick conifer hedges. The facilities are about half way down.
The site has a security gate and huge pitches, each with their own tap and ehu point. It's easy to get a Sky signal at the top. It's not far from the sea but the beaches are less than inviting. I suppose it would be a good base to visit the Somme. We would certainly use it again, but only for a stopover. I believe that it is in the process of being renovated.
