Just got back from another enjoyable stay at Yew Tree Park. Children had a great time and an added bonus were the new showers just installed and upgraded, so plenty of hot water!
Visited Dover Castle which was a really good day out.
Campsite was clean and tidy. The owners made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble.
We are all looking forward to returning in the summer holidays.

Yew Tree is a quiet campsite with a lot of one night campers on overnight stops to or from Europe. The site was amazingly clean and I couldn't fault it for layout and pitches which were well thought out and very large, all with electric hookup.
There is a pub less than 200m away which served excellent food and is well worth a visit. Also don't miss the excellent farm shop which is about a 5 minute drive away and has everything you need.
As per the other reviews the showers are the one thing that the site falls down on. The owner made a point of saying that the slower the flow the hotter the shower. She wasn't kidding I had to have it on a dribble in order to get any heat at all and at 20p for 4 mins this seemed a little stingy when the overnight rates are quite pricey.
Showers aside we enjoyed our stay at Yew Tree, it was an excellent location for exploring this part of Kent. We visited Canterbury using the excellent park & ride system, Wingham Wildlife Park which was ideal for children and half the price of Howletts which we didn't visit on the basis that £75 is too expensive for a family of four. We also visited the lovely seaside towns of Whitstable and Ramsgate.

The site itself is very attractive, mostly flat and well kept up. The road outside is not that busy, so overall it is also a quiet site. There were very few people there when we were there in mid-September. It is a mixed site with static caravans and chalets as well.
Perhaps the owners were just tired after a long season, but we didn't find them that helpful. And there was a kind of stinginess about the way things ran. 'Mid-season' (which we paid) was only £2 a night less than 'High Season' for the two of us, but the swimming pool was closed and the freezer room also closed.
They did freeze our freezer packs for us, but the office was only open an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.
Showers also cost 20p, for which you get only 4 minutes from the point you put the money in the slot -- not so bad in the ladies where the slot was within the shower cubicle, but in the gents it is outside by the washbasins, so you have to get as ready as possible, then put your money in, get in the cubicle, get undressed, then get the shower going.
Adjusting the heat is also tricky, so you freeze or get scalded for a bit before it settles down. Now half your time has gone! And it's not exactly a power shower when it gets going. Very frustrating. I had as few showers as possible. There was just a lack of generosity about it all.
Then there was the sign in the gents saying you could not use the one-and-only shaver point available to charge up your mobile phone -- but they would do it at the office for you, for 50p. Wow. That is a big mark-up on the electricity used!
There is wifi, but the minimum charge is £5 for a whole day. I only wanted to check some emails, and would have signed up for an hour for £1 or so. Why would I want to be on the internet all day when I'm on holiday??
So we left with mixed feelings. It could have been so nice.

Really liked this site nice area and nice views
The toilet blocks weren't as good. The toilet block was very dark and small showers.
Lots of things to see and do in the area.
Swimming pool was free and nice as it was a hot weekend wouldn't want to use the pool other wise as it wasn't heated.
The thing I didnt really like was the owner would ride round the site all the time felt as though we were being watched all the time
But would return as very nice area and generous size pitches.

Just got back from our long weekend break at yew tree park, had a great time.
It was very windy during our stay, and because the site is at the top of a valley slope it does take a bit of a battering. There is a fair amount of shelter from the trees and bushes though.
The other small point is the heated swimming pool, don't expect it to be boiling hot, if its cold and cloudy, then you're gonna be cold if you're taking a dip.
The facilities on site are fine, had to queue to use the washing sinks, but the site was full so its understandable.
The kids play area could maybe do with an update, but if the weather is fine, I'd guess you'll all be in the pool.
The nearest shops are in Canterbury, or if you just need a couple of things, there's a garage about 5 minutes away towards the M20.
All in all not a bad site, and we had a great time.

We have just came back from our Easter break
From there. I have to say it was one our very best holiday there. It was very clean and tidy outstanding and quiet. It was easy to find for sign post.
The owner was always very helpful and tried his best to help you. The swimming pool was out of this world. It was empty at the time.
I would recommend this to anyone and we hope they would not be disappointed. We're going back the soon.

Stayed here for a couple of nights in August and found it to be a very nice quite site within 50 yards of local pub.
We were given a large pitch at the entrance to the site which was not a problem as it is quite a small site with minimal comings and goings. Pitch was nice and flat with water tap nearby.
There is a lovely outdoor swimming pool on site but because of the weather we never used. There was also a small playground for little toddlers. The shower rooms and toilets were very clean and we never had a problem using them. EHU was 10 amps max.
The owner whizzes around on his little motor bike checking everything’s ok and is very helpful.
There is a park and ride facility not far from the site for those wanting to travel into Canterbury and the pub outside the site does some very nice food but is quite expensive.
This was our first camping trip and we enjoyed our stay.

The site was lovely and clean, quiet and friendly. I was a bit disappointed to pay extra for the showers but they were lovely and hot so it was worth it.
The play area could do with improvement but it was in a good location so the children could go and play by themselves.
The pool was too chilly to use but maybe it was too late in the year and I notice it is heated now so it might be better.
Great location - easy to visit Canterbury, Whitstable and other lovely places in Kent.

Stayed here for a week in July, had a lovely large pitch. Site was full but always kept clean, kids enjoyed the pool although it was a bit cold. There is no shop on site, but Canterbury is not far and you can keep food in the freezer.
Would recommend park & ride into Canterbury, much cheaper than paying for parking. Enjoyed an afternoon berry picking. Howletts Animal park is close by.
This site had a lot of foreign campers and with the hot weather made it feel like being somewhere abroad. Would definitely come back.

We have just returned from this site and had a lovely time. Pitches are large and marked out giving each tent owner plenty of space for tent and car or cars.
Playground although little proved very popular with the children, which they enjoyed.
Toilets very clean.
Shame there isnt a shop for newspaper or milk/bread.
Lovely pub walking distance, serves meals but not monday or sunday afternoon.
Would stay there again, used as a base and travelled around.
Owner very helpful, clean and tidy site, very quiet.
