Spent just one night here to try out our new caravan, check in smooth & friendly & supplied with Toilet key, card for the security gate & information about how to get to our pitch & what was on at the Clubhouse that evening. We found our pitch within a couple of minutes & set up. We booked a deluxe pitch & found it level & with the astro turf awning area ideal especially when the weather is poor. It's a lovely park & nice to walk around & although being family friendly it was quiet & the families that were there were respectful of other visitors & had a very peaceful visit. Didn't venture to the Clubhouse but drinks by the lake would be ideal on a warm evening & found that wood fired Pizza cooked to order was available on a Saturday evening so will try that next time. Facilities were of good standard clean, spacious with an option to book a Family bathroom for the night. Overall a quiet Park, ideal even for couples as long as each unit are respectful of others, lovely indoor pool which hope to indulge the next visit. Look forward to returning in the near future.

Just returned from a weekend at this park not visited since last year. The owner have done all the stuff on the park they said they were going to do and although work is still going on what an improvement. The showers are beautiful no more wet clothes as they have been made larger and have shower curtains, a seat and lots of hooks for your clothes.

We never went on the super pitches before always on the grass ones but we wish we had gone on them last time they are so much better, the weather was lovely while we were there but if it had rained no mud in the van.

Entertainment was good as always and the singer on Friday was very funny too, the staff were great as always! We went in the pool which was lovely and warm. On arrival check-in is quick and informative always with a smile and the fish & chip van made Friday tea so much easier.

All in all we are glad we gave this lovely site another go and will be back soon but best of all with our smiley faces next time it will be free.

This touring site has received a few negative comments lately mainly about the toilet block, but I can say that the recent works have improved the facilities no end & I would recommend this site to anybody. We love this site, it is very handy for York & Selby & the surrounding countryside & if they did seasonal pitches we would definitely take one, so get off the owners back they are doing a great job.

This is an amazing site, we found this by pure fluke, as one bank holiday our usual place let us down, Rang Cawood who had 1 pitch left! Lucky!

Clubhouse has great entertainment, (beardsmith awesome) bar, shop and staff friendly and shop has allsorts. However, we prefered the site before it changed to just super pitchs, it was by far a friendlier atmosphere and the showers where miles better, the new ones just dribble! but the block is nicer. So all in all great site but preferred the old cawood park.

Lovely weekend at this site on a super pitch. Site and pitch very good, toilet block looked excellent from outside but inside was a lot to be desired. 3 showers and 3 toilets for the whole site which we counted 43 pitches.

The showers were just a cubicle with a tray with an automatic push shower, no control over the temperature and once pressed lasted 2 seconds. Because no shower curtain all your belongings on the hook on the door get wet. The showers were also very dirty, and didn't look like they'd been cleaned the whole weekend. Bonus of swimming pool and bar on site, we didn't go in the bar but the pool was lovely.

The site is nearby to Cawood village although not much there only a pub, but bus stop into Selby and York so easy to get out and about.

Quite expensive especially when facilities are not up to scratch so not sure we'll be visiting again.
Management response: The statement 3 showers & 3 toilets for the whole site is misleading as there are 6 showers & 6 toilets plus 2 private bathrooms and also a less able bodied persons wet room.

As of November 2012 we have 38 operational pitches, from December 2012 there will be 27, this will be when our second section of super pitches will be open and the older standard pitches will be closed.

The ratio of facilities to pitches far exceeds the statuary level we are required to have which 2 showers per 25 pitches

Just got back from another weekend at a lovely site, enjoyed all our previous visits but was disappointed with this recent visit, we went to this site taking our 11 week old baby on our first family break together, and like I said before its a lovely site although it does seem to be taken over by more privately owned statics on every visit.

The standard touring pitches left something to be desired, very uneven with broken drain poking through the surface and quite muddy with broken or dug up roadways, the 1 way system it tells you to use at the site entrance is non existent now to squeeze more statics in.

We visited the normally good clubhouse on Saturday night with our daughter only to have the barman watch us walk in, look at the pram, take our drinks order and start pouring before eventually telling us no prams allowed in the bar, no notices on the building anywhere to be seen. Suffice to say we didn't stay, cancelled our order and returned to the caravan. On returning home we emailed the site complaining about the lack of information only to get a very rude response telling us on fire safety grounds no pushchairs are allowed in the clubhouse (which is a valid reason) there is a designated area for pushchairs which at no point was this even hinted at by the bar tender (not residents so not interested maybe?).

A new toilet block has been built on site on the way to the exit, I feel for the people on the pitches in the far corner who have to cart their waste all that way, there used to be a toilet block quite central which seems to have made way for more statics! (seeing a theme here?). The showers are poorly designed and some large corners were cut in the finishing off of the building (obviously to save a few hundred pounds) the vinyl flooring is not properly bonded, it wasn't very warm in there. There are no finishing touches like sockets, shelving or towel rails etc (including in the private bathrooms which we have had on a previous visit) and if you want to do your laundry feel free to just pop it in the 'drying' area within the shower cubicles and you will have a good start! No shower curtains and what performs like an old lime clogged shower head goes along way to creating a quagmire of a drying area which you then have to step into the shower tray to open the door.

Construction work is underway on what looks like more super pitches as well as the on going increase in static locations.

All in all this is a lovely site that seems to be driven by the bottom line and has lost sight of what people keep coming back for. The site desperately needs to take care of what is there before squeezing every penny they can out of the visitors.
Management response: The comment that the standard touring pitches leave something to be desired is understandable, which is why we have invested in a new section of super pitches which will be open in December 2012 and the older standard pitches will close.

It is also fair to say whilst gleaming new the shower block is not as user friendly as it should be, the works to correct this will involve closing the shower block for up to 5 days for ladies and then the same for gents. As we are open 12 months of the year we have to complete these works at the quietest time of the year, the works for this will be completed in January 2013.

With regards to pushchairs in the clubhouse, as part our licence for the sale alcohol, live music and dancing we are required by the fire regulations to keep all walkways between tables and exits clear of obstruction. We do offer to fold down customers pushchairs or encourage them to use an alternative form of seating eg a car seat.

This is explained in the document 'Frequently asked questions and useful things to know' which is available in 2 places on our website, the home page and the touring page, and a copy of this is posted with the confirmation for every single booking.

The site is very nice. It is mostly static caravans situated around a fishing lake. It has a very nice pub with lovely beer garden and good entertainment. The toilets are really nice and immaculately clean. There is a 'super site' section for tourers which is very nice. Clean and tidy with plenty of space. It's a shame that the normal touring area isn't as good. We found this section of the site very 'tatty'. Which is a shame as the rest of the site is lovely. The reception staff were polite and welcoming. It's a pleasant walk into Cawood village which has a shop/post office and 2 pubs. Shame it's not a little bit closer to York. (9 miles away)We would return but would stay on the super site section.

Can't praise this site enough, the staff are the friendliest people you could wish to meet & can't do enough to help you, top marks for the bar staff & entertainment. This is my second visit to Cawood Park & certainly wont be my last. The park runs an award system for every weekend you spend there you collect a smiley face, when you have collected four you get a free weekend. Not too far from York, Also close to Selby both excellent places to visit

Second time at Cawood, our 3 girls love it here. Only cause for concern to us is the fishing lake, as only one child can swim so cannot totally relax (the only negative we have)

Everything else is great, especially staff they are so pleasant and helpful, anything we wanted we got without any question. Wish more people could be as accommodating and friendly,

Toilet block and other facilities are adequate.

Will go back as and when we can, will try to use this site all year

Very nice site with friendly staff

Indoor pool which the kids loved

Dog friendly site with exercising area too

Pub very warm and welcoming with excellent entertainment too

Lovely site set around a fishing lake with lots of ducks, geese and swans for the kids to feed

Good fishing lake if you enjoy fishing

Very good pitches with electric hook ups

Toilets and showers were all recently built and to a very good standard

We can't wait for our next visit for the Halloween weekend

The site offers you a reward scheme for each separate stay you have and after so many visits you get a free weekend

This site also has a sister site over on the north west of England which I believe is very nice too
