Lovely little site. Friendly welcome. Decent showers.
£20 per person is a little bit pricey. It does include breakfast but that is continental. If you want a bacon barm, it's an additional fiver per person.
Evening meal was ok. Again, prices are high. They also automatically add a 10% service charge
Electrical hook up was included.
Lower prices for food a bit and I'd score much higher

This place has a quantity and quality imbalance. We arrived on a Thursday early evening. The hard standing area for caravans was only big enough for two units. We were asked to pitch in close proximity to the toilets which was an undesirable location for any site.
The grounds are relatively okay, some areas well looked after and others covered in rubble (around the car park) the ‘woodland’ area would benefit from the removal of the scattered wooden pallets too. Our expectations of this site were relatively low from reading the reviews ahead of our arrival (we were visiting family & this was the only site which claimed to have availability when we booked) so we were both quite relieved that it didn’t seem as bad as what we thought. This soon changed! Guests were walking around our caravan over the gravelled area (we could hear every footstep on the noisy gravel!). General noise/music continued until around 1:15am!
Day two, more and more and more arrivals. The site only has two toilets. In these toilets we found exposed plumbing and electrics, which should be covered by tiles but instead they’re laid against the wall. The owners dogs roam free and we had to ask for dog mess to be cleaned up directly outside our caravan. The site claims to have ‘10 pitches’! Not the case, the owner continued to pack in as many units as possible!
We arrived back to the site on day 2 to find a motorhome had pitched next to us, less than 2m apart - our doors directly facing one another. A risk of fire, let alone COVID transmission. Speaking of COVID, there were zero signs of social distancing here. No staff wearing masks, no signage to mitigate against COVID & no sanitiser in sight - there were fabric towels in the toilets too - yuck!
Let’s talk waste disposal - no general waste disposal area, well the owner put it all in the back of his Defender. When I asked the owner where the waste water disposal area is, he told me the woods for grey water! I couldn’t believe it, then another member of staff told me it’s the ‘man hole cover’, which really was just that, a man hole cover which you have to lift off - I was told by the same staff member that this was for toilet waste too! Said man hole cover was located next to a static caravan which ironically had the sign ‘health & safety officer’ in front of it! Next to the man hole cover was the washing up station - a contamination spawning site.
After spending the third day off site, we arrived back to find parking even more limited, resulting in us having to block a car in to just park next to our caravan. There were an additional 3 commercial caravan tourers on the site, which was FIVE units in total, all feeding off the TWO EHU sockets. It’s no surprise that the electric feed to our caravan gave up on the last night.
We left early today, not a chance we wanted to stay any longer at the claustrophobic camp. The access and egress route was a single track, with cars parked all the way down it as the car park was overflowing. Just enough room to squeeze down, yet a rut down the side of the track had been filled with loose gravel. So to our misfortune our caravan slipped into this, bashed onto a log laid at the side and smashed the cassette door. You could not make this catastrophe up.
I haven’t mentioned that this site cost us £50 per night. INSANE. It’s a shame as it could be something tranquil, but instead it feels like the site owner wanted to create a boutique site but has tried to achieve this with very little thought for the customer experience. It’s far from ‘boutique’. Real shame as the owner was an eccentric chap, tried to help but he’d benefit from frequenting some caravan sites to see how it should be done.

I love Ardoch House as you have nature, perfect service and a hotel, all close to Glasgow. Perfect solution when it's cold to spend the weekends.
There's a campsite too, which is a really tempting solution to spend a good time with children.

Not the best equipped campsite for motorhomes or caravans, no way you could put an awning up, apart from that good enough for a night or two.
Andrew ( I’m guessing is the owner) is a character and very helpful and chatty, the guy that I think was the chef went out of his way to help us when our Motorhome wouldn’t start,
So we honestly have no complaints, except maybe a little expensive at £20 per head per night compared to other sites with better facilities, but maybe not better people so you can’t have it all I guess.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a campervan which cost £80 for 2 people. Minimal covid-19 precautions.
The pitch was a space in the car park with less than 6 feet between the 4 campervans. The 2 electric hook-ups had double adapters so that 4 vans could be accommodated.
Whilst we were there 2 vans turned up who had booked for electric had to make do without.
Toilets and showers were in an old converted static caravan, dirty and smelly. Breakfast, forget it. It’s not worth getting out of the van/tent for. For the price I was expecting something special.
This is the worst ‘campsite’ I have stayed on since the 1970’s.

Stayed here for two nights, booked in advance, I was told it would be busy, and it was we were put in the guest car park, which is not great.
Shower and toilet in an old mobile home, very shabby, water cold, then found out we could use bathroom in the main house, which was fine. Breakfast was sold to us in Andrews words "M&S finest", not quite, Aldi, instant coffee and brioche.
Saturday night entertainment provided from the camping field, loud dance music, followed by fighting, two Police cars and an ambulance.
Could be such a lovely site with a little TLC, and maybe not so busy, would I return at £20 per head per night. No.

Andrew was excellent, firstly in managing to accept us at last minute and then could not have been more helpful.
Site had everything we needed
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a great stay, weather had been awful so grass pitches were understandably out of the question so we were on hard standing beside the camper vans.
Everything very clean and staff helpful. Highly recommend
