July 2005 The campsite is very well equiped for static caravans and lodges. However for touring caravans the specific facilities are less than moderate. The pitches look like a parking lot (all gravel) with very less space to sit. With the traffic noise in the back you´ll not feel you´re on a campsite at all.

October 2004 Visited White Cross Bay recently in tourer caravan. Good Points - restaurant and food (including breakfasts) were delicious and reasonable. Swimming pool and lakeside were very pleasant.
Bad Points - Shower block was slightly neglected and dirty. Code required for door which often didn't work. Several times had to wait in the cold and damp for someone to open it. Only curtains round showers and nowhere inside to hang clothes and wash bag etc.,
Little noisy due to traffic from main road.
Tourer area rather like a pebbled car park. Extremely close together and no good for sitting out with a glass of wine!

September 2004 Just returned from a 5 day stay at the white cross bay park,we stayed in a howe lodge which is a wooden chalet situated in the wood land area. We had a great time and I would recommend this site to anyone the chalets are nice and roomy, clean and the on site facilities are excellent with friendly staff. If anything I thought the leisure passes were a bit on the dear side but we had a great time. In fact we have already decided to go again next year.

twice in 2003 (up to now) Superb site on the edge of the lake with caravans housed in nice wooded areas. The main tourer area is in couldisacs of 6, surrounded by trees close to the road but noise never seemed excessive. There are other tourer areas in the park away from the road, some on grass by a small stream. The club has very good entertainment and is very well laid out, a very clean modern well lit lounge with nice big leather settees to relax in. The beer prices seemed reasonable for the surroundings, £2.30 for lager, £2.60 for guiness. The restaurant offers excellent food at normal restaurant prices. The 5* hotel breakfasts offered at £4 a head are an absolute bargain.
bad points: The toilet block seemed to get neglected on our second stay. It was out of order for half a day because of a blockage and then, although I did see cleaners going in, the loo rolls were not changed and ran out quickly, remaining empty till the end of our stay
