This is indeed a lovely location and the fields for camping were excellent with ample electric hook-ups. However, the toilet block was a disappointment, with broken window catches and cracked toilet seats and only 1 shower out of 4 that could actually be hung on the wall.
The water was not very hot and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. There is also only one sink for washing up. This is an expensive site given the standard of the facilities. Also, the pub / restaurant included in the details has now closed.

This was the best camp site, friendly peaceful, happy. The staff were lovely and helped me all the could, the location was perfect and only a couple of minutes walk from loch Lomond.
They have just revamped there toilets and showers they were lovely and the showers were free unlike other places :) plus they are righ next door to the tent pitches and caravan area.
I loved it loved it loved it. Perfect family place :)

This Site was a total joy to find, completely child friendly in a beautiful situation, fifteen minutes from Balloch, a source of everything that you would need i.E. Supermarket, Fast Food Outlets, Pubs & Hotels, also a place where you can tour daily and return too the site very easily. The new toilet/shower/washing block is fantastic, situated right next to the camping base, it provides the latest modern facilities that I have seen in any camp site that I have visited, even the power is Solar and the Cleanliness is second to none.

We just back from a weeks holiday at this site and we loved it. Very clean toilet/shower block, no shop or pup on site, but the nearby village has both and the pup dose food, no playground so would strongly suggest taking some thing with you if you have young children. The loch is just a 5mins walk though the site, with a very nice woodland walk along the side of the loch,
Fab if you have a dog, and still nice if you don't. The only real down side was the lack of correspondence after we booked by phone, we had no reply from the cheque we sent for a deposit and no directions how to get there, and it's not well sing posted so it took a bit of finding, it's about half an hours drive from balloch, which is a nice place to take a boat ride round the loch. This site is very friendly and welcoming.

Went last year at probably busiest time as REM were playing at Balloch Castle. Toilets basic to say the least and too far from tent area. Owners were doing best to organise parking as grass area was like a swamp, would probably be okay for touring break when not inundated with concert goers. Quite pricey as well, inflated for concert goers?

We too have just come back from a fantastic stay. I have to agree with Hamilton44 about the facilities. There are three small tent sites but all are well away from the facilities (Toilet block) we felt that situating the toilet block in the centre of the static caravans is bad planning. There was no noise bar the wild winds and the stay was most enjoyable. Somewhat amazed at the cost June32 paid, we were charged £10.00 per night for two adults and a dog.

As with the prvious review there was noise one evening too with another camper having to tell them to be quiet (thankfully the noisy ones got there cumuppence cause their car wouldnt start the next day!). The 200 yard trek to the loo isnt good. The showers dont work properly with no proper pressure and out of the 3 ladies showers only 1 had a door that locked. The laundry facilities were broken before we arrived and were not repaired in the 4 days we were there. There are no sinks to wash your dishes most people obeyed the sign saying "clothes washing only" and so used the sinks in the toilet, I wasnt doing that and so used the laundry sink! But with some funding it could be a great campsite. Great location and nice big site but seriously needs toilets, dish washing facilities and shower blocks at the tent fields, possibly even a shop too.

August 2005 Visited this campsite in August 2005. The site itself is quite nice, is in a lovely position with a short walk to Loch Lomond shore but the owners need to invest more in the site's facilities namely the toilets and shower blocks with a proper play park for the children.
The site was also very noisy at night until another 'French' camper finally got up out of bed and told those concerned to be quiet, then the site quietened down.
A warden going round the site at 11pm would have made our stay more pleasant.

June 2005 Stayed at this campsite recently, it was in a beautiful spot, close to the Loch, but neither the phone or the laundry facilities were working, and all the signs around the site were quite unfriendly, ie. no pleases or thank you's.
Also, the price was £12 per person per night, which I think was quite steep for the facilities offered.

April 2004 We thought this was a lovely friendly little campsite. The price was cheap £5 per person/per night and we were surprised to find a beautiful private walkway which ended at the shores of Loch Lommond - very romantic at night I must add. We pitched near a little river running through the tent area where we kept all our stuff cool. The site had little wooden picnic benches dotted around and we were made to feel very welcome. Another bonus is that Balloch is only a 5 minute drive away. And considering it was April we had the most wonderful weather and even got a suntan.
