Following mechanical problems as we were about to board the ferry at Newhaven we called this site to see if any available pitches. They told us to come straight up and we were pitched within 10 minutes.
The pitches are good sized and well placed around the site in small enclaves. As always every pitch has ehu and the ones we saw were very level.
There were two facilities blocks - both immaculate, heated and never overly busy despite the site being near to full. The block near us was closed for cleaning 3pm-4pm - which we thought a much more sensible time than in the mornings.
We didn't see too much in the area as we were only there a couple of days pending work being completed on the van. From what we did see its a fantastic area and both Brighton and Eastbourne ave plenty to see and do. We also liked the smaller villages along the coast between the two.
Never sure when reviews mention friendliness of the site - people come and go daily so depends on who you park next too I guess. The wardens at this site were exceedingly helpful, cheerful and friendly - nothing was too much trouble for them.
We will go back again for a stay in Sussex and see the attractions and will definitely use this site.

Half term so time to keep the kids amused so we returned to this site again and had an excellent time at Brighton.
Order your Brighton Pier Amusement Ride Wristbands the day before you need them and you save 25% (the wardens kindly printed out our email), plus the wardens told us about the Sealife 50% off Vouchers.
The world's oldest Electric railway, the Volks Railway was open at half term this year - a lovely surprise. Hove Museum was a good little museum to spend an hour at. Cycling along the front is nice and easy with its dedicated cycle lane but remember it's a hill on the way back.
Aldi and Asda supermarkets close to the site. 4 hours free car parking at the Marina and walk along next to the beach to the Pier. Toilets lovely and clean, and the washing up area was excellent with Radio 2 playing. You can hear the Whitehawk FC fans when they are at home but it was not for long.
Quite expensive nights' cost but it was half term so presumably price is more then, but it was still a great holiday and we will return.

The site is situated a couple of miles East of Brighton City Centre, just North of Brighton Marina. It is easy to get to, but I would recommend following the site direction instructions, as taking a caravan through central Brighton is not recommended.
We arrived on a Friday afternoon and got caught in a fair bit of traffic, which isn’t at all unusual for the area. The site itself was very busy and after queuing to book in, we had to drive around the fairly large site twice to find an available pitch. We were rather hoping for a grass pitch, but none were available.
As with our club sites that we have visited so far, the pitches are pretty much level and the facilities very good. There were various services points around the site, which included drinking water, grey water disposal and chemical toilet points, plus bins and recycling facilities.
One odd thing to note is that you are advised that glass MUST be put in with general waste and not in the mixed recycling bins. I assume that this is something to do with the local authority and hopefully it is sorted out at the collection depot.
There are two toilet blocks with free showers, hair dryer, shaving points, etc. There is also a laundry and washing up facilities. The washing up area we used only had three sinks, which made for a small amount of queuing, but nothing excessive. There was also a playground and Dog walk, but many dog owners chose not to use this favouring walking their dogs round the site instead.
Overall the site was up to the clubs usual high standards, although it didn’t feel quite as friendly as others we have visited. A fellow caravanner we met while washing up, commented on the huge number of Motorhomes and massive RV’s on the site. We were very much in the minority with our van.
One thing to bearing mind, which caught us out, is that the access road is perhaps ½ mile long without pavements and has no street lighting all. Finding our way back to the site after dark was “Interesting” to say the least. If you intend to come in after dark either drive or get a taxi back.
Brighton is an amazing city to visit, but parking in the city centre is both difficult and (I feel) very expense. I would strongly recommend walking to the bus garage at Whitehawk or the Marina and getting an all-day bus ticket for £5 each.
Because of the feel of the place and the long dark access road, we would probably only visit again if we needed to stay over in Brighton for some event or other. There are better sites to just 'Chill Out' at.

The camping is on 3 relatively small tiered fields to the right hand corner of the site. The tents opposite are fairly close. We pitched on the lower tier as this is where the electric hookups are.
It would be an idea for those allocating pitches to make sure that smallish tents are pitched opposite the bigger tents using electric. The staff were helpful on arrival as we were early and were fairly friendly throughout the week.
You can choose where you want to pitch yourself but you cannot drive onto the camping area, you must cart all of your kit across from the carpark to the pitch. This didn't particularly bother us on arrival but it was a problem later.
We went the week before the bank holiday but what was surprising was the turnover, nobody at all stayed for the week, some pitched for up to 4 days but some were only a day. Under normal circumstances this wouldn't have been a problem but being as most people have a minimum of 5 or 6 trips to their car to setup and then the same again to pack-up it meant an almost constant stream of foot traffic in front of our tent at all times of the day and night as 4 tents opposite were allowed to pitch after 9pm at night. On another occasion in the week when it was actually quiet they decided to cut the grass.
The facilities are ok as are the staff and the location in a lovely park (avoid the cafe it is grim) only 10 mins on our bikes to the marina (great for bars and restaurants) and about another 10 mins to the pier which is pretty central for accessing most of what Brighton has to offer on foot. (If you are fairly healthy) Close to the racecourse too.
We were told that the top field next season will be used for Glamping units and the amount of units will reduce on the fields below so hopefully tent placement will be managed better then. Sadly though we wouldn't consider returning.

A nice site within 10/15 walk of marina. Usual caravan club standard of toilets & showers. Staff were friendly & helpful. A lovely area just outside site to let dogs have a run. I would however avoid this site during school holidays unless you have kids as it is extremely busy & not as quiet & relaxing as we would like.

Lovely. Close to all that we needed.
Didn't spend a lot of time here to be honest as we were out 90% of the time, but all was good and we had everything, so we left happy.

A large campsite, great shower and toilet blocks. The site is well located within easy walking distance of bus stops for Brighton, the Marina and supermarkets. A great location if you want to visit Brighton but a very busy campsite.
Will be back.

A large site up to the usual Caravan Club standard, great shower and toilet blocks but not quite as clean as I would expect for Caravan and Motorhome Club. The site is well located within easy walking distance of bus stops for Brighton, the Marina and supermarkets. A good location if you want to visit Brighton but a busy urban site.

Very clean and tidy as would be expected from a Club site. Pitches were level and big enough but are mainly hard standing which is not my choice in the summer.
They were soooo compacted that even rock pegs were impossible to use. Everyone around us was struggling other than the guy who used screw in pegs which he put in with a cordless drill.
The chap opposite us complained to the warden and was given new pegs to replace his broken and bent ones and loaned a bigger mallet! A few essentials stocked in reception such as milk, bacon etc but didn't open until 9am which wasn't much use to us as we are earlybirds.
Fish hand chip van visited one evening during our week there and pizza van another evening. Would've been helpful if they had advertised their visits in advance as we had made other plans for one of those evenings but tried the pizza and it was good. Laden with toppings.
People didn't seem to stay longer than two or three nights but perhaps it was just the ones near us!

Access to this site couldn't be easier. A wide road clearly sign posted takes you directly there. Set on an elevated position next to Brighton race course. Having set up too close to the adjacent caravan the ground staff assisted us with manoeuvring and correctly positioning the caravan. They were very helpful throughout our stay. The wardens were very helpful, Spotlessly clean facilities, nicely kept clean site.
