 Requested a brochure before booking and it looked perfect. It was nothing like the brochure, it is on a slope, grass pitches, not hardstanding as indicated in brochure. Our pitch was at the top of this sloping field. We were allocated a pitch when we booked, this had been changed by the site when we arrived. Pitch then had no EHU, a member of staff said he would lend us a very long extension and he'd let us use it free of charge as it was there mistake (very kind)
The music is really really loud, keeps you awake until the club closes (not very good if you've young children) as it can clearly be heard in the camping field. Toilets and showers are in a wooden hut and it is very damp and mouldy in there (yuk) My advise is use the purpose built brick showers and toilets in the static caravan area it's further to walk but worth it. Kids loved the outdoor pool, but no lifeguard.
Didn't realise how far from Newquay it is (my own fault)

We tried Summer Lodge after having been to Hendra for two years running. Summer Lodge was obviously much cheaper, but this was reflected in the standard of the site. The toilet/shower block were not the cleanest, the camping field was on a slope, luckily we were at the top because it rained extremely hard last summer (remember Bocastle) and some tents at the bottom flooded. The club on site didn't withstand the weather any better and it rained in everynight on unsuspecting bingo players.
The managers on site had recently taken over and needed to stamp their mark on the site. However, the staff were very friendly and extremly helpful. The kids entertainment was good and my daughter even won a free weeks holiday in a caravan for the october half term. Hopefully the new managers will have turned the site around this season and made the much needed improvements.
