Really nice campsite very close to the lost gardens. Facilities were excellent. Only stayed here to visit the gardens so did not see much of the local area. Wardens were very friendly but on our day of departure we were a little behind time and late leaving by half an hour (our mistake) but they allowed the next occupants to pull up into the next pitch an hour before arrival time, and pressure us into leaving quickly despite the fact that they could see we were preparing to go and lots of vacant pitches seemed to be available. It was the last day of our holiday and we could have done without the hassle of some woman parading around and watching us pack up. The rules for departure seem to be less flexible than the rules for arriving.

Stayed at Heligan Woods for two nights in July 2015. This really is a great camp site. Plenty of space, great scenery
And very helpful staff. The showers and toilets are spotless.
Mevagissey is only a short drive away or 40 min walk on a Public Footpath. Heligan Gardens are right next door. There is an excellent restaurant at the gardens that you can use without having to pay entry to get into the main gardens.

We use this site every June because it's ideally located for visiting anywhere in Cornwall for days out. The location is quiet with scenic views of the local countryside, and the facilities include a clean and well maintained toilet & shower block centrally located in the park. The reception by staff is warm and friendly and the reception also incorporates a handy shop facility for those moments when you've forgotten something!
The site is situated a short ten minute drive from St Austell, and has a sister site a few minutes away on the seafront which boasts a restaurant, pool, water sports and full family entertainment facilities.
The Heligan Woods site is highly recommended for peace and quiet, without the bustle of a fully blown family site, yet amenities are available a short distance away for those who wish to use them.
The picturesque fishing port of Mevagissey is located just a few minutes drive away with excellent pub restaurants and quaint little streets and shops to browse, or just sit by the harbour and enjoy a traditional freshly baked Cornish pasty.
Would we visit again? Most definitely!

We (2 adults only) spent 3 nights at this site. Staff where friendly and helpful. We had chosen a pitch when we booked on line, pitch size with hook up was a good size and facilities where central and excellent. The Lost Gardens of Heligan where next door, you can also use the farm shop and cafe there without going into the Gardens. You can walk directly down into Mevagissey, however we where told 20 mins, it is actually more like 45min/1hr downhill and we are regular walkers, probably 20 mins on a bike! And of course its uphill on the way back. Worth the walk though nice village with a good selection of shops. We went on the Mevagissey to Fowey boat which runs a regular service, £8. 00 single, £14 return, from the right side of the harbour, they had seen dolphins, but sadly not on our trip. Nice boat trip and Fowey has some nice places to get lunch. We took the coastal path back and managed to get to Charlestown 14 miles, nice pub, tall ships, very pleasant. Would use site again.

We have just spent a very pleasant weekend at Heligan Woods one of many over the past 2 years. As frequent visitors to the 'Lost Gardens' next door we always enjoy this site and as we are only an hour away use it often for a weekend break.
The site seems to improve every time we visit and has now introduced a pay online WiFi which whilst useful is also expensive compared to others.
The Park itself is well maintained with very good facilities and even when busy we have never had to queue to use any of them.
Overall we rate this site highly and with so many activities and wonderful Cornish scenery in the area would thoroughly recommend it.

We stayed in static van umber 20. I think it must have been brand new this season, it was that clean. Site overall is very picturesque set in lightly wooded grounds surrounded by woods to the rear and open fields with a distant sea view on the horizon on the front side. Shower block / toilets were first class in my view. Re the van, to be very picky I would say it needs more coat hangers, and a cabinet and more towel holders in the family bathroom, ( this van has 2 toilets with the 2nd being en-suite to the main bedroom). Bedrooms s little small but that wasn't really a problem for us, , kitchen and living area was great, well equipped with everything working without issue.

Really enjoyed the stay here. Went as part of the camping and caravanning group rally so it was at a much reduced rate; £9. 50 with EHU. Flat pitches, beautifully kept site, heated and clean wash and shower facilities. Sea views. Small shop on-site, but adjacent to an excellent and well stocked farm shop. 2 mins walk from Lost Garden of Heligan entrance and directly on cycle trails and walks to Mevaggisey, Pentewan Sands, St Austell and the Clay trails off-road routes over to the Eden project, Wheal Martyn and beyond.
Very quiet. No wifi available, but I think that recent storms had blitzed it.

We stayed here for a week at the beginning of August. We found the site to be clean, tidy and the facilities good. On arrival we were shown to our pitch which was grass with an electric hook up. There was a drinking water point nearby. During our stay we used the toilet and shower facilities at different times of the day and never had to queue. This was a bonus as the site was almost full. The toilet and showers were always clean and have been maintained well. We found the site to be peaceful, even though it was almost full. The facility to book online and choose your pitch was useful too. The surrounding area is lovely. Just a short drive to beaches and visitor attractions e. G the Eden Project. There are a few pubs within a couple of miles. We can highly recommended the Polgooth which served lovely food. There is a small shop on site or an Asda close by in St Austell. We would definitely return to the site.

A pleasant site with a nice atmosphere. Roughly 50% of pitches were sheltered by hedges or trees. The map on their website gives a good idea of which are which. The pitches around the children's' play area were quite sloped, as well as tending to be less sheltered.
Reception was typically, er, closed. We arrived at 6. 30pm after a long journey and would have appreciated a bit of a welcome, being able to buy something for dinner, and getting some tips on what to see. But unfortunately reception and therefore the shop were already closed. Similarly when we went of in search of breakfast at 8. 30am the next morning, still closed.
I'm slightly concerned about the security of the site. Without someone checking arrivals and departures during at least daylight hours, children are at more risk.
Other than that, there are some good days out to be had nearby - Mevagissy, Eden Project, etc
Toilets always clean and showers hot with spacious cubicles and benches. Playground looked good, at least from a distance.
There didn't appear to be anywhere to freeze freezer blocks which was a nuisance.

Yet again another lovely stay at Heligan, this time we had sunshine which made it even better and the cherry tree's and Azaleas were in full bloom
Nice peaceful site, good for walking or cycling with Mevagissey just over 1 mile on a traffic free track. Had lunch in our favourite cafe 'Number 5' well worth a visit also a nice walk in to Pentewan and a visit to the pub. Handy being right on the doorstep of The Lost Gardens of Heligan also Lobbs Farm shop which has such a great variety of fresh produce with a great Butchers shop, well stocked for BBQ. The toilet block is a little dated but always clean and has hot showers the only thing I would criticise is the smallness of the loo's ( not much elbow room)but it wouldn't stop us from coming
