Very nice site convenient for Portree. We arrived without booking and it was no problem, though we didn't require hookup.
Gravel pitch for motorhomes was reasonably level.
Toilet and showers were clean and tidy. Used the laundry facilities which needed tokens purchased from the warden, washing powder was included.

Booked and stayed for 2 nights. Booking process a waste of time as site manager said it was generally 'first come, first served' on EHP. These are restricted as only 4 EHP's serve 5 pitches. Same on both sides of the site.
The site is part sloping so bring your levellers. Campers should learn to sleep whilst not rolling downhill!
Plenty of toilets and showers which are kept clean. Excellent dishwashing area which is shared with washing machine / tumbler drier.
The man who now runs this site is trying hard to provide good experience for visitors. Give him a chance to succeed.

We had stayed here last year for 2 nights and came back this year intending to stay as long or longer. Other reviews about proximity to Portee, showers etc. , say why. But we left after just one night. There was no hot water in the dishwashing area in the evening, some kind campers cooking in this area which doubles as a kitchen and freezer area boiled a kettle for us. The same happened the following morning so we decided to move on. Also, the weather was very wet and we found the site rather cheerless in these conditions. We moved to another site elsewhere on Skye which we liked much better, even in the poor weather.

Very nice campsite just outside Portree. A 15 to 20 minutes walk will take you to Portree's lovely small harbour. The campsite is quite slopy, levellers for Motorhomes are necessary at most of the pitches. The facilities are good and cleaned twice a day. There are about 10 hsp's. The site is close to a lovely circular walk through the fields via Torvaig and along the Sound of Raasay to Portree.

We picked this site due to its proximity to Portree. We had stayed on Skye before (in the Dunvegan area) and found that site too remote for our needs. Torvaig is ideal as it is a minutes (drive) from Portree centre and the well-equipped Co-op. We highly recommend trying some Skye Ale! The site is quite hilly in places, however most people found a level spot depending on the size and shape of their tent. We stayed here for 4 nights which is the longest we’ve ever stayed on one site. We would have stayed longer if it wasn’t for the upcoming bad weather forecast. The facilities are good, though the block closest the office are mainly showers with only one toilet (note, there are no hand driers or paper towels in here, ladies or gents). The other block is mainly toilets with a couple of showers. The washing up facilities are situated behind the main house where the washer and dryer were in constant use (we were pitched near here and the noise didn’t cause us any problems). The site is very busy, but in a good way. Everyone was friendly and noise was kept to a minimum. There was a good range of campers, from motorhomes/caravans to single tents, hikers, bikers and people like us with tents and cars. It has an extremely laid back feel, even in the way the owner collects your money during his morning rounds, however they were also very helpful and accommodating. There is a walk from the top of the site (through a farm style gate) which had incredible views and both our dogs loved running up here. We even saw the odd eagle flying around in the evening. There were a few midges, but nothing too bad. The grass on site was some of the best we’ve stayed on – very thick, well-kept and spongy. We found Torvaig to be the perfect base for exploring the whole of Skye and we will definitely be back again (costs were very reasonable at £7 per person and nothing more). Highly recommended site, which we’re hoping doesn’t become too popular!

An excellent camp site. The owner was very friendly and worked tirelessly to keep the place well maintained and spotless. Very clean toilets, and the soap dispensers etc always stocked. Free showers that were very hot. Short walk in to Portree for supplies if needed. Lovely views and a sighting of white tailed eagles flying overhead.

We stayed 3 nights in this place. Lots of people were in because of the Portee Games.
Space for camping vans seems to be limited : some of them were refused.
Warm welcoming. Lots of space, comfy grass. Lots of midges too.
Very clean and functional facilities. Table and benches to eat on. Stunning views on the Cuilinns.
Portee is a pleasant town at 20 mn walk from Portree, 5 mn by bicycles, with lots of shops and restaurants. Buses pass by on their way to Uig.
Nice and quiet place during the day. Much more noisy at night : people go to sleep very late sometimes and car drivers bang their doors loudly which is really annoying. Try to find a place away from cars and vans if you can.
We paid £14 for both of us and our tent.

What a great little site. Arrived at the site and was met by the warden who explained the facilities and explained the different types of pitches. Very reasonable prices at £21 a night for caravan with two adults and two children with hook up. There were two shower blocks on site both with showers and toilets. Generally there was plenty of hot water but it did run out one morning. It is about a mile walk into town for the shops.
The site is well situated for the whole island and is very popular with our foreign visitors, many of which just stay for a night or two. I will be staying at this site again if and when I visit Skye.

Visited this site during the Easter break, so it was quite cold.
We arrived on Skye and used this site on the mobiles to find a place for the evening. Called John on the site and he gave us directions just outside Portree.
On arrival just so that you are aware to gain entrance there is a narrow bridge, that have to admit looked like something out of 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' so we crossed over, crossing our fingers and toes - all good! ( If you have a big unit I would call first)
John was on site and greeted us, (he is normally there between 5pm - 6pm). We could park anywhere and we did, the views here are quite stunning, albeit the wind does come right up the valley.
There are two shower blocks, because it was early in the season only one was open. The only thing that I would say is when its cold its cold there is no heating in this shower block, so it is a quick in and out. However, all spotless and perfect working order.
We had a problem with our electric and couldn't get it to work (which I've now sorted John only charged fees for no electric. What a gentleman.
Would I go back ? 100% YES

The site is located a couple of miles from Portree. We were charged £12 a night for the two of us and a tent. Most of the grass tent pitching area slopes although a there are a few flatter areas. A small conifer wood along the Western perimeter gives some shelter. The wash rooms are ok. We both found the shower cubicles somewhat drafty although the water was nice and hot. Yet again the shaver sockets were damaged. No shop. You can walk into town along pavements all the way or there is an alternative route through Torvaig and then down over the cliffs.
There is a small Co-op store in the town centre and also a much larger store just out of town. Portree is a quite a tourist centre and comes with the associated gift shops, pubs and restaurants.
From here the Old Man of Storr and The Storr itself make for interesting climbs and the geological formations further North on the Trotternish (Quirang etc) are easily accessible. The Mealt waterfall, Kilt rocks and Staffin beach dinosaur foot prints are also worth a visit.
We can recommend the Glenview restaurant at Culnacnoc, South of Staffin for food (approx. £36 head) but book in advance.
An good site for visiting Portree and the Trotternish peninsula. Shame about the sloping pitches.
