Booked for a weekend on a fully serviced pitch. Very attractive site with mature trees and wide open spaces.
We didn't use the facilities as we use our own, but the chemical waste points were easy enough and fairly clean (one was locked off however which forced a bit of a walk). Signs on the block said it was being closed for renovation from 17/10.
Reception was friendly, mini-mart had ready meals in the freezers plus all the basics including wine and beers.
Travel into Edinburgh is straightforward - reception will sell you an all-day pass for £4. 50 which you scrape off the day/month/year and show to the driver. Bus stops are just outside the site and buses are frequent.
We'll definitely return as it's perfect for Edinburgh.

This site allows travellers and the site was full of travellers on our stay. Surrounded by 12 traveller vans, caravans. I would not have booked this site if aware of this. We would prefer a quieter site.
Toilets could be better and cleaner, showers cold and no heating on for an all year site.
The staff are lovely and did move us once away from the main traveller group.
Instructions for bus to Edinburgh could have been clearer.
Location is great but the site is not safe enough for us to leave a van and go into Edinburgh for the day which is disappointing.
I would look at alternative sites next time.
Would be nice to be shown to our pitch.

Well situated for visiting Edinburgh as it is next to a bus route.
Facilities are very clean and has a well stocked shop.
Dislike is that a lot of the pitches are far too close together.

We were a party of 2, one disabled adult, with one teenage child. We had no tent but were using the pitch for just our car.
Most aspects of cleanliness, noise, setting and facilities were very good, but understanding of disabled needs was very shaky. Limited understanding of how tricky access to shower/WC blocks can be for disabled people.
I explained my needs when I booked but was allocated a pitch with an uphill path, 2 flights of steps, or blocks not yet in service. When I asked for a change at reception the second person I spoke to was very helpful and gave me a pitch on the flat and near the disabled toilet. Then the disabled toilet was locked at night.
Otherwise, our stay was pleasant and peaceful. A few tweaks to the booking process in the case of disabled customers, and leaving the disabled toilet open 24/7 would have made it perfect.

A cousin and I shared the caravan, with many friends also there in caravans or camping for the weekend.
Changed a bit since I visited ten years ago - a bit confused by having to drive through a garden centre!
Caravan was lovely, well equipped and clean. We paid extra to use their bed linen, fitted better than any I could have taken.
Friendly staff, useful shop for basics and necessities.

Stayed for 2 nights with friends. Great site except for the toilets at camping area.
One working shower in the gents and then on the morning we were leaving the whole toilet block and the second block further up were blocked so only one operable block for the whole site.
The maintenance team were on hand trying to repair and told us that a refurb was on the books at the end of the season.
I think that this would have been better done last winter before peak season!
Also the bins were not emptied all weekend which resulted in rubbish stacking up and the magpies having a field day!
Great for visiting Edinburgh though and I would return!

This is our second stay on this site. Easy access from bypass.
Some of the pitches need long power lead, our lead 25m just reached.
Easy to get into city bus stop is along the road.
Toilets were spotless, hot water was very hot.

This is our usual site for visiting Edinburgh as the no. 11 bus into town is nearby; this is now contactless and stops debiting at a day ticket's worth (the third single ticket). Our visit this time was for the rugby and the magical "castle of Lights" event.
Grumbles: The check-in process was perfunctory. Our request for a specific siting (made at online booking) had been ignored. The pitch sloped so steeply that our MH chocks couldn't offset it, and I rolled out of bed for 4 nights.
Wi-Fi is now charged - there's an added cost for almost everything at booking, maybe why there were so few awnings. I'd prefer a drive-over MH drain as the manhole cover was awkwardly located and too heavy for me to lift; and the CDP was whiffy when the wind finally dropped.
We like: the farm shop at the entrance is excellent (local produce), otherwise we use Waitrose / M&S in Morningside. The facilities in the stone building (opp laundry) are hugely better than the 'sunken' ones, with good showers (cubicle has 9 hooks, might be a record?).
There are so many dog walks / running / cycling routes (it would be really helpful to have a 1:25, 000 map displayed at Reception) and the walk up to the Braid Hills viewpoint has fabulous views.
In summary, as before, the positives outweigh the negatives and we'd recommend the site. The dog loves it.

This site is ideally located for visiting Edinburgh city or the surrounding countryside such as Pentland Hills. We were visiting to have a break and see family living locally in Roslin.
What we liked - great access to everything you would want from Edinburgh. The park itself has a lot to offer with a local pub/restaurant which we didn’t visit this time.
It is in a country park with a few short walks with fantastic views. We walked up the Braid Hills with views of the city, the Fife coastline and Isle of May not to mention Arthur’s seat etc…There are a couple of highland cows in a field alongside the approach road very cute.
We found the facilities were kept very clean and showers were good, not busy as not many tents on site at this time of year so suspect it’s busier in summer.
It’s a large site so we hardly had any interaction with staff except checking in, where staff must have been weary as they were not very chatty or wanted to engage in anything other than tell us where our pitch was. Can’t say it was the warmest welcome we have received. I suppose larger sites can be rather impersonal.
On the whole nothing to complain about.
Our pitch itself was quite sloping which was just about ok for the caravan but the awning didn’t have a great fit to the back of the van. So be aware that many of the pitches are on sloping ground and you will need rock pegs for hardstandings.
Someone pinched 4 of our rock pegs while we were out for an evening which was very annoying. We had to hammer new ones in at 10 at night in the rain and wind. Obviously not the fault of the site management!
If we visited again we would ask for a flatter pitch if available.
There is a play area for children outside and a games room, and some kitchen facilities for tent campers.
Pitch fees are not cheap, and awnings are charged extra, but I suppose it is all about location and popularity.
