Ideal location for walking and birdwatching. The beach is literally only 4 or 5 minutes from the site. Plenty of beach side walks - but the tide can be a long way out, and you must be really careful not to go too far out and get caught by the incoming tide. There are canal walks nearby. The nearest pub we found was about 15 pleasant minutes walk away, and there are Indian and Chinese restaurants within a few minutes drive away. The site is mainly static caravans, but has several places for touring caravans or motorhomes, with hook up and individual water supply. Have to pay a £10 deposit for the toilet/shower room key fob, but toilets and showers very clean. There are coin operated dryer and washing machine- the dryer came in very useful on our wet weekend! No shop on site,a van comes round with newspapers over the weekend. If you have a car with you, Leighton Moss RSPB reserve is well worth a visit, and Morecambe is very near too. Warden ( the farmer) helpful and unobtrusive.

Having just spent an extra long weekend at this site, I thought the review needed to be updated as some of the previous accounts are now out of date. We had originally booked Friday to Monday, however we enjoyed it so much we stayed until Wednesday.
The facility was basic but excellent. The laundry and shower/toilet blocks have just been refurbished, with three extra large shower cubicles in the ladies, although from what I can gather the showers in the mens are slightly smaller although just as pristine. There was no charge for the showers and they were not on a timer.
The site itself was second to none, the touring field is split into two sections. The first field is for seasonal caravanners with the top field for tourers. This field was almost the size of a football pitch and was superb for the kids to play rounders, cricket and football.
The children were out playing all the time (even in the rain). There is even a little wood for them to play in as well, although there is a public right of way which goes over the tall fence onto the railway bridge, so caution is needed with young children. However even the train line doesn't spoil the relaxing and carefree feeling you get on this site.
The water point is right in the middle of the field with the chemical disposal and waste water in the first field. The toilets are just a minute's walk away.
We paid £10 per night with no hook up (£9.00 for unit and £1.00 for porch awning). As all the hook up points are on the seasonal field, there is only one hook up point available on the touring field at present. I think the cost of this is £2 for appx three days worth of electricity.
The location is also good, a two minute walk gets you straight onto the coast with walks in both directions. Ten minutes gets you to Hest Bank where there is an excellent pub and chippy.
You are only a 5 minutes drive away from Carnforth, where there are a number of restaurants, pubs and shops. Morecambe is 10 minutes away and Winderemere is half an hour away.
For the more energetic types, a 20 minute drive gets you to Glason Dock where there is a superb 17 mile circular cycle route down the old railway lines to Lancaster and down the canal back to Glason (with some great pubs on the side of the canal). There is just a slight bit of road riding in the centre of Lancaster however we did this with the children with no problems.
All in all an excellent site, with a friendly owner. Even the people who are there for the season are friendly and helpful.
We will definitely be returning to in the future.

Quiet site with not much to do so perfect for those who want to just chill for the weekend. The turn off from the main road is a bit on the tight side and careful driving is needed down to the caravan site but once on the site the pitches are more than adequate to reverse into. Two minute walk down to the bay which is absolutely perfect for a brisk walk and beautiful at sunset. Our dog loved it. The toilet and shower block are a bit on the tired side but you don't stay in there long anyway. Lancaster Carnforth and Morecambe are a short drive away. Lancaster is great for a bit of retail therapy. Carnforth is small but worth a look. Morecambe although not as it was when I was a child it still has some of the seaside charm and the promenade is great to walk up and down. Plenty of pubs/restuarants/shops in the area and a great little chippy in Bolton le Sands. There are also a couple of caravan shops in either direction when you leave the site. Prices are a little on the steep side when there are so many sites in the area but not ridiculously priced. I would definitely return to this campsite just for the chill factor.

Well - the area of Bolton le Sands offers lots to do - the beach is a stones throw from the caravan park and Morecambe just a few minutes. The lakes and Yorkshire an easy ride away. The really disappointing part of this caravan park is, the price is for a Rolls Royce and all you get is a banger! We paid 16.50 per night for caravan, awning and hookup. You had to pay for a shower - only 20p - however when you have paid that for the site you will be shocked by the very poor level of toilets and showers on offer. They are basic to say the least - concrete floor, tiling I saw in the 70's - just like army barracks really. You get a token for each 24 hours of electric hook up - so you have to beware if you are out and your electric runs out and you have your fridge on - granted the owner did offer that I could collect an extra token to tide me over in this case - but you just want to get on with your holiday , not bother about the inconsistent delivery of electricity! There is no barrier or security for the site and a caravan went missing over the weekend! - unlucky I guess! Overall very overpriced for the facilities and hassle with the 20p's and tokens, and there is no obvious investment being put in by the owners to upgrade these. Surprising as there is lots of competition in the area - some with the same level of facilities but at a cheaper rate, you could live with that. The area itself around is lovely and for the walker and those wishing to relax the area is ideal. The people all over - on the site and around the area - are the most friendly we have met in a long time. You can get some great deals on food locally.

Outstanding site mainly static but has provision for seasonal tourers and visiting tourers. Limited facilities ie no bar swimming pool etc just Shower laundry and toilet block. Site is run like a well oiled clock and leans towards the peace and tranquility end of the caravan park market. Sited in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the beach at Bolton Le Sands .
