The first visit to jedwater for me and my family was excellent. The children loved the play area and the with the river jed running behind our tent gave them loads of fun. They had all the facilities you need. The hosts couldn't of been more helpful they were lovely people. We enjoyed it that much going to book up for next bank holiday and we had a look around there caravans they ae of a excellent standard and are going too book one for summer holidays. I would recommend jedwater site as we had a excellent weekend and the children didn't want to leave mr and Mrs hinton

Stayed in a hired static for a long weekend in April with our two sons. Lovely quiet site with plenty for the kids to do, visiting the park, playing footy and numerous visits to the river looking for fish! Van was lovely, clean and a nice deck to sit out on. Jim the warden was very friendly and couldn't do enough for us, including a complimentary bottle of wine! Fab site, would definitely recommend if you're wanting a relaxing time. Only about 4 miles from Jedburgh for local amenities/shops. We can't wait to go back!

For first time motor homers we went for one night but had to stay for two. The site was amazing and the managers Jim and Liz couldn't do enough for us, and made us feel welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in a beautiful location. The facilities were good and would recommend to anyone visiting the area. There are facilities for children but as we were travelling without children, it was not something that we needed. Thanks Jim and Liz for a lovely start to our week.

We have just returned from an overnight stay here - our grandson's first trip of the year. We picked it for location, children's play area and walks from the site; we were not disappointed.
We were greeted warmly by the new warden and his wife and shown to a grass pitch with a paved patio area. He gave us both site and local info including shop opening times.
There are water points all over the site, at least 3 within easy reach of our pitch.
The location is stunning with walks from the site and the River Jed running around it. Dark skies and a clear night made an excellent spectacle. It will be fabulous during the next 3 seasons.
Plenty of outdoor toys for children of all ages and lots of space to kick a ball around.
Surprisingly considering the time of year there were lots of children on the site which was ideal for our sociable 4 year old grandson.
It's not a huge site and has a fair amount of statics and seasonal tourers. It is not pristine by any standards but we really liked the friendly atmosphere of this well established site.
The toilets were warm, reasonably clean, with plenty toilet roll and soap and a hand and hairdryer.
We would definitely visit again even though we could not get a TV signal! In warmer weather we would be sitting outside anyway.

I have just returned from the Bank Holiday weekend spent here confused and bewildered. On arrival we went to check in where we were confronted with a notice on the door saying that no-one was available and to just pitch anywhere and someone would be along to collect the money later. Having not been here before, this was somewhat annoying.
Once we pitched we set about getting our bearings around the site. The toilet block was clean and tidy[for the moment]but I was disappointed with the lack of a shop[although there was supposed to be 1 on site].
The following day was hectic to say the least. Tents and caravans seemed to arrive all at the same time and it was a free for all where to pitch. In my opinion the touring end seemed to be an add on and was not really catered for. There was no cohesion or order at all.
It took us till the Saturday teatime to actually catch someone to pay for the weekend but wish that we had not. A karaoke and disco ran until the early hours of the morning and was quite loud considering a lot of children were on site. The following day the women folk in our party visited the toilet block to find it had not been cleaned since the Friday. Not happy to say the least.
The surrounding area is lovely, and Jedburgh itself is beautiful and I have no qualms in returning to this area. However, I shall not be returning to this site. The site itself is in a ideal location but I found the touring side is just a money making scheme.

We first visited this site in 2009 and since then the tent area has changed a lot in that there are now caravans in here too! Some touring and some that have an annual pitch. They have the best pitches up at the top of the camp - must add that the people using these pitches were all very friendly and welcoming its just it has changed the nature of the tent field slightly. Pitches are flat and well drained.
We were camping with friends so were happy to be in a mixed field, but I think if we were on our own in a tent we might have felt a bit of an odd man out, however it might get busier in the summer.
Here are the things we loved about the site:
- fantastic play park for children, and loads of room to play football too
Very child friendly site - good for kids scooting about on their bikes
- shallow beach area by river bed just next to the tent pitches so great for older children playing (take wellies!).
- Jacobs ladder walk from the site (brilliant fun)
There's lots to do nearby - tourist walk round Jedburgh and you can visit Jedburgh Jail and Mary Queen of Scots house for free (both child friendly). We also visited Harestanes Country Park which us fantastic for walks and cycling and has a great adventure playground.
Jedburgh has good sized co-op, banks, pubs and take aways.

Stayed for 3 nights but paid for 4 as weather was turning.
The site is located about 10 mins from Jedburgh which has a small co-op shop and various independent shops. The setting is idyllic, on the banks of the river in a fairly steep sided valley. The camping area is adjacent to the river bank and the water is shallow enough for dogs and children go play in under supervision. Water is clean.
Arrival wasn't great. Called at the house to pay and be given info but was dealt with very briefly. Was not given any info about toilets, the shop etc and was gold just to pitch up wherever. The pitching area is either side of an access road. Both sides can get boggy so pitch carefully.
There is only one water point at the far end nearest the toilets and showers. In fact there is little incentive to camp at the other end of the strip as you'd just be further from the essentials. Pitches were flat and there are picnic benches dotted around.
Can only comment on gents toilets. These were clean. There is one spacious shower and a smaller one. Clean and plenty of hot water.
Shop was poor. Was not given opening times and there is no signage anywhere. Another camper told me I'd missed the shop that morning as it was only open from 9am to 10am and again from 6pm to 7pm.
On the second morning I went to get provisions but was told that bread rolls had to be reserved the day before. The boy serving also didn't know prices, guessing the price of milk or just rounding prices up.
Play area looked good for kids and there was a small playing field for kids too, although this area can't be seen at all from the tent area
Site is mainly for statics and tent area is quite segregated
Decent for a 1-2 night stop. Charging £3 per day for wifi is extortionate these days when you can get it free in cafes, pubs etc

We stayed here on our way back to England at the end of our fortnight holiday. We were fairly late arrivals and I rang ahead and spoke to the warden to check this wouldn't be a problem.
Very helpful said we could just turn up.
It was unfortunately at the end of a week of pretty atrocious weather in the area including heavy rainfall so the whole site was pretty waterlogged.
We were left to find our own pitch which presented a bit of a challenge and at one point I thought we might have to go and ask for our money back. Eventually found a suitable hard standing pitch.
This site is largely for statics, there a few touring caravans but only saw one other motorhome.
I think this site would have looked very different in decent weather because it was in a very pretty location but because of the weather - it rained torrentially for the night we were there - there was no-one out and about and it felt a bit gloomy.
The toilet and shower block looked a bit off putting from outside but actually was clean.
The pot wash area is outside and we didn't use it - it looked a bit sad but again I think that was down to the weather.
We paid £22 for our pitch including
Electric hook up which I thought was a bit pricey.
There looked to be good facilities for children - lots of open space to kick a ball and some play equipment.
As fairly new motor homers we have learned that sites which are largely for statics are not our preference so we would not choose this sort of site in future. They don't have the sort of atmosphere we are looking for.

Visited the site with family, half the group in a caravan and half in a tent. Site very easy to locate, signposted well in advance, straight off the main A road. Easily negotiated access road, leading straight to a large sign for the site.
Perfect. Wardens and owners very friendly and helpful, reserved us 2 pitches together. Facilities on site excellent, clean, tidy with free hot showers. Children's play area seemed great, our toddler still too young! Zip line also on site, brilliant fun.
Dog walk excellent also, big open space for running around in. Village of Jedburgh nearby, charming place to spend a few hours. Castle great, some shops useful and quite a few full of curios.
Didn't have time to travel further afield, will save that for next time. Great site, highly recommended.

Not at all what we hoped for.
No allocation of pitches, were just told to find one.
No site map given, which would have been useful.
Very poor and dirty facilities. Showers and toilets were filthy, didn't actually want to use them!
Dishwashing sinks were not clean either and you could only use one sink as the others hot water tap was not working. Not a lot of bins on the site either and no recycling points.
Play area could do with being upgraded also.
A real shame as it could be a lovely site in a lovely setting.
Jedburgh is such a lovely place to visit, will need to find another campsite. Certainly do not recommend this one!
