We hired a mobile home from ParkDean, the mobile home itself was lovely, a spacious living room with good facilities. Bedrooms small but what can you expect. The main letdown on the holiday was the fact that teenagers had NOTHING to do. Evening entertainment was mainly older adults and children, meaning teenagers were looked at strangely when joining in with the disco, especially by one bouncer who appeared to "have it in" for me and my friend, who were visiting with my parents. Being 17, I found this behaviour awful. As we felt harrassed by this, we spent most of our time in the caravan, going out for meals or just playing pool in the entertainment centre. The park seemed to be full of the type of teens which we would not want to mix with, rowdy and badly behaved. On one occasion we were in the pool with a couple of our new friends when one child began to find it hilarious to throw a ping pong ball repeatedly at us and shout some choice phrases which should not be coming from a ten year olds mouth. Eventually the lifeguard did something about it but this went on for about half an hour before the child walked off clenching his fists saying "i'll have you" Overall, Newquay's great for over 18's and small children but teenagers will be bored stupid at this site, and I would not recommend it to people looking for a relaxing break, the children will keep you up until at least 1am with their shouting and bickering.

Just returned from this park and would not go again. The entrance is very steep and first gear needed, caravans were towed up with tractor. Pitch's slopey, and close to main road lots of traffic keeping you awake. Pitches are on a first come first served basis and found it difficult to find one suitable, if you had a little 2 man tent you would have had loads of choice. Very noisy campers lots of families with multiple pitches together and the equipment they had must have been delivered by an articulated lorry. Didnt quieten down until 2am. The showers were a health hazard, disgusting, never saw a cleaner all week and need desperately updating. On the good side the kids enjoyed the kids club. A laundrette charging £4.60 for a large wash was good, but you could not use your own washing powder it was supplied. I was unable to wash our clothes as son has eczema. The club area was nice and very clean. The swimming pool area was nice, apart from the life guards who just lay on the floor facing away from the pools listening to music.

Good site with one or two drawbacks. Sloping site means the further you get down the touring field the more sloping the site - we ended up in F as pitches not allocated (I can't understand WHY not) & others had parked cars on pitches so that they would not be pitched on - not very friendly. We were told that we could not pitch until 12pm but were woken several times VERY early in the morning by people arriving.
All staff were friendly & helpful. Pool was nice - kids enjoyed it. Can't vouch for the kids club - but staff seemed enthusiastic. Costcutter on site OK not to expensive. Only went to the bar a few times - not really our scene. Showers hot but only 4 Min's each! A bit difficult with small children.
I will be e.mailing Parkdean to see why they don't allocate pitches - must be a nightmare if you are in a party. Hubby is not impressed with how slopy the fields were!

Being a bit of a camping novice, I thought a commercial park with loads of facilities would be good. However I soon realised that it's not my cup of tea. The evening entertainment was cringingly bad, large groups of teenagers hung around smoking in the playground, the pitches were far too close together. On the other hand, the toilet and shower blocks were clean, there is a well stocked shop and the grounds are quite well maintained. Location wise it's a short drive to Newquay which is quite convenient.

The park is situated in the countryside on sloping, rolling hills and is set in very nice landscaped gardens. The caravan was very comfortable, clean and quite modern. Unfortunately I was not advised that the outside pool would not be open for Easter, so my 8 year old son was not impressed. The entertainment reminded me of a social club, two nights running of listening to Agadoo-doo-doo was as about as much as I could stand!
Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Pets are welcome which is a good thing as most parks do not let you take your dog. The amusement arcade could do with a refurb especially the 2 lane 10-pin bowling alley!
The Cafe is excellent value for the meals served all day long and up until gone midnight and the food was very good. I didn't particularly like Newquay that much, but there are some great bays and beaches to visit like Fistral Beach and Holywell Bay. I would say that the park really is a base for exploring Cornwall.

September 2004 Shower blocks were spotless - perhaps they have been refurbished since a previous comment. Pitch a little slopey - we were on F field near the road, but didn't find the noise too bad. Wonderful displays of aeroplanes from the nearby St Maugan RAF camp! Swimming pools great for the kids & adults as well. Shop, bar, cafe etc excellent. Prices good. Foot quality very good. I'd recommend this to anyone

Aug 2001 & July 2002 Having been back 2 years running, we certainly like this site.
Very good site, with the only drawback as I can see is the lack of pre-booking for a pitch, so it's on a first come .. first served basis. We have been lucky, each time being away from any noise and on a level pitch. 2 pitches actually next door, over the 2 years.
We want to go back again this year, but just wondering if we'll be lucky a 3rd time.
Own mini golf, pitch 'n putt, 3 pools and slide, entertainment ... Great !
See you in Newquay, just don't take our favourite spot !!

Aug 2003 The whole site is situated on the side of a steep hill, most pitches are sloping ,but also getting around the site could be a problem for some as steep paths to shower blocks etc(depending where you pitch).Kids loved the pools and arcade, entertainment is the usual ..personally we try and avoid it. Pitches aren't allocated so you can pick which suits you best, the very noisy bits close to facilities or as we did on J field , much quieter backing on to pine trees and playing field.Shower blocks etc a bit grim, time for a refurbishment I think. Overall ok, but wouldn't rush back.

July 2003 Just got back from a weeks holiday at Newquay Holiday Park. This campsite was excellent - especially for those with young children. Good Points (and I do mean GOOD!): Bar/Clubhouse, Entertainment Program, Outdoor Pool, Staff, Size of Pitch, Shop, Laundrette, Shower/Toilet Blocks, Price, Bad Points: Pitch was a little slopey. I would have no hesitation in recommending this site. It is in an excellent location for exploring the rest of Cornwall. Those of you with young children will have a really good time. We did! We enjoyed ourselves that much, we decided to stay an extra night (would have stayed longer if we didn't have to work the next day).
