Lovely site. Very well kept.
Great bar ‘The Engine Shed’ unfortunately only open Thursday to Sunday but it was nice the one night we were able to use it.
15 minute walk to Kirkby Stephen and about 30 minute walk to Nateby in the other direction.

The site is on the left as you exit Kirkby Stephen travelling south or on the right as you enter travelling north. The site is on an old railway yard.
On entry to the site you are given an envelope containing information and a fob for the barrier, which is needed for re-entry. Payment is made by bank transfer before you arrive at the site. There is hand sanitizer outside the reception.
The caravan pitches, most of which are on hard standings, are large and flat.
There are at least two fresh water points on the site.
There were no restrictions on the use of the toilet/shower facilities although there were reminders to keep socially distant. They are closed for a deep clean from 12. 30 to 14. 30 and regularly cleaned throughout the day. Handsanitiser is readily available outside of the toilets and CDP.
The free wifi was good, although it did drop out for short periods and the mobile phone signal was good. TV reception is not always good but I did mange to find enough stations to watch if need be.
The children’s play park was open and well used.
There is a bar, which is open from Thursday to Sunday in high season with seats well spaced as well as outdoor seating. They sell very good pizza, which needs to preordered, twice a week and loaded flat breads once a week.
There are some lovely walks from the site and I particularly enjoyed the one entitled ‘The three viaducts. ’

Excellent campsite. Very well managed. Very clean.
Claer Covid guidelines in place.
No negative comments from us at all but two people were unhappy with radio at well past midnight in toilet blocks.
This did not affect us but radio was still on at 02:15 when I visited toilet block.
There were plenty of hand scrubs and gels on site.

Great site in a great location for visiting Cumbria, Teesdale, Yorkshire Dales and Forest of Bowland. Friendly staff, clean facilities. Spacious pitches.
Could do with either more electricity points or extension leads to borrow, as some pitches are about 20 metres from the power points.
Engine shed bar and pizza place are great - Just wish they were open more than just the 4 nights and 2 nights respectively.
No recycling for bottles and plastic.

Peaceful farm site about 10 minutes walk from St Johns Chapel.
Grassy site with EHU and small shower block.
Excellent walks along the river or in the higher fells can be started here.
Pubs and cafes in the village are all good and offer a warm welcome.
Owner is very friendly and welcoming.

This is a well-kept site within 10-15 minutes walk of Kirkby Stephen main street.
It makes an excellent base for getting outdoors in the area.
Site itself is well-maintained with large pitches and good facilities.
Would certainly use again.

Just spent four days at Pennine View.
It is a really nice well kept site within easy reach of some lovely walks and close to Kirkby Stephen itself.
Toilets and showers are spotless as are other facilities.
The owners are helpful and friendly.
Will definitely return.

Great site about twenty-five minutes walk outside Kirkby Stephen. Site is well-laid out with plenty of level hard-standing pitches.
The toilet block has just been refurbished and the floors won the award for 'Shiniest Toilet Block Floors 2016' as awarded by me.
At the back of the site is direct access to a lovely river with waterfalls leading onto a disused railway cycle/footpath.
I attempted to drink in the Nateby Inn which is just ten minutes away in Nateby village but they keep 1960 opening hours so check before going down.

Great location and easy access from both the M6 and A66. Centrally located in the town of Kirkby Stephen. Lovely walks along the river Eden and surrounding areas (Nateby).
The site is basic and overlooked by housing but every pitch is level with water points close by. Lots of 'site rules' which seem slightly oppressive.
£10 deposit for gate key.
Slightly expensive per night (£26. 50) for only a hardstanding pitch. (I've paid less for fully serviced).
One complaint would be that we were not offered a choice of pitches on arrival merely told which one we would use !
