The site offers all family facilities, including kids clubs, swimming pool and go karts etc. There are a couple of bars, a laundrette, chip shop and convenience store all on site. The chip shop was very cheap and very nice.
We stayed for a fortnight and for the first week my husband informed me the men's toilets were awash with the stuff that should have been flushed down the toilet. The ladies were no better I am afraid, that goes for the toilets and showers.
I didn't see any mention anywhere of the train line that runs immediately next to the touring field. The trains run at least every hour and the ones that are full with coal made the whole caravan shake! We did get used to this but if you are having trouble sleeping the trains will keep you awake.
We had some rain whilst we were there (not a shock I know) but the water did not soak into the ground at all and therefore, we were flooded out of our awning at one stage.
Security were very careful on ensuring only visitors with passes got into the complex in the evening but unfortunately, did nothing about the groups of youths wandering around the site sometimes until 3-4 in the morning. There were a couple of people in reception complaining on the morning I went to speak to the staff about it.
All that said, however, we had a fabulous fortnight and would highly recommend this area of the country. There are both Asda and Morrisons very close to the site. We did not find the problems referred to in the earlier review about Saltcoats. There was a cinema and ice rink very close to the site which the kids really enjoyed. There was also a theme park and various other activities very close which meant that our fortnight went far too fast because we were busy every day.

The approach to the site was a mixture of wasteland/builders yard, but once inside, we couldn't fault it. Everything was spick and span, bar was noisy with children, but it is a family holiday park.
Access to the beach was a nightmare. An old rusty railway bridge had to be crossed, many steps either side, then sand dunes had to be crossed too. Not a place for elderly or disabled.
The town of Saltcoats was a terrible place, drunks on the street as early as 9am. The only bar we ventured into for a drink and a meal was Wetherspoons, and that was tea time.
All the bad points are out of control of the parks owners, but I feel the park should identify these problems to prospective visitors.
A place to definitely miss when visiting the otherwise perfect west coast of scotland.
