Great site. Well managed by efficient friendly staff, who also offer a newspaper and roll collection service - they picked them up for you from the village approx 1 mile away by 8.30am.

Toilet block, although older style, is very well maintained with excellent showers. Good dish washing and laundry facilities. Please be aware that there is a rule about children over 5 being in the opposite sex toilets. This could have been a problem if my brother and I had turned up with our daughters (aged 3 - 10) as we could not have helped shower our kids over 5. I understand the reason for the rule but it is a problem.

Our tent was just opposite the great playground so also thumbs up from my kids. Site is part of a bigger country park which has a large children's play area and a farming museum with guided tours - all free which made it even better.

The town of Mintlaw is approx 1 mile with a bakers, bank, 2 shops, 2 Chinese takeaways and an excellent chip shop.

The only let down, apart from the horrendous thunder showers, was our tent pitch was on a slight incline. We couldn't really move as we were not totally roughing it and tied to the electric hookup!

But would definitely recommend and will probably be back.

We visited this site in late may and received excellent service. A husband and wife operation run by the aberdeenshire council proved to be the perfect combination.

The site was clean, tidy, and well run. We spent only one night, and despite sharing the campsite area with cub scouts, found the place to be very quiet and friendly.

A mix of static caravans, touring caravans and an area to the side for tents. Located amongst aden country park, the town boasts two chinese takeaways of which we did not use, but good to know in case the bbq didn't light.

There is a wee shop on site which is run by the owners when they are not scrubbing the loos and cleaning the showers, of which are a high standard (60's style decoration).

We were very happy with our stay here, and would recommend it to friends.

We were advised to go to this site by some caravan pals, and glad we did. An Aberdeenshire Council STB 5 star site, run by dedicated and very helpful husband and wife staff, who live on site. Booked by phone and turned up on the site early Friday evening and they almost insisted on helping guide the van into position. Not put off by my reply of 'it's OK, we've an electric mover', they then went into overdrive and fetched wooden leg stay supports and levelling blocks for us! (we did not ask them to, but it was a nice touch) Some pitches are on a slight incline.

A useful welcome information pack provided at booking-in, with helpful site map and telephone contact sheet. Local weather report available in the reception/shop. Clean and smart facilities, free showers. The site is surrounded by mature trees, flowers and is spotless. Pity about the speed bumps (pet hate), but you can't have everything!

Pub nearby about 300 yards along main road from site, with two more pubs and a couple of shops in Mintlaw centre about a 15 mins walk away. Unusually, Mintlaw can boast two Chinese take-aways and that's about it. Fraserburgh and Peterhead are both a short drive away if you need the 'bright lights'.

The site is actually part of Aden Country Park, with various activities arranged throughout the year, and quite a few things to see and do. We'll be back. £14.50 per night for van with elec.

Camped here for the weekend and what a joy it was. Toilets were spotless and warm with plenty hot water. (Warden on hands & knees scrubbing showers etc - that's dedication) Pitches well laid out, although tent area was in shadow from early evening, but sun in morning. Warden was very friendly and stayed on site in static (not bad for a council site).

Good kids play area, considering there is a huge country park with a massive play park, lake, woodland walks, farm museum (free entry), working farm & tours (free again) adjacent to the site. Football pitch for kids also on site.

Will be back soon -but remember to book.

This camp site is immaculate with all the facilties you need, only stayed one night and thourghly enjoyed it. We took a lovely long walk around Aden Park which is worth a look, take a look at the farming museum etc.

Our site was excelent size and we had plenty of space outside for the swing ball and deck chair etc, the toilet blocks were clean but old fashioned decor, all in all we are definitely going back this year.
